Question

So I heard about BethINI, and figured "that sounds useful". I downloaded it and as instructed went to Setup to select my MO profile. Under "Mod Organizer" it said ERROR, and didn't autodetect my profile. I tried to follow the link to his forum on the Nexus page, but it 404'd. Any ideas?

In the setup tab, make sure your game is correct, your game path is correct, and your Mod Organizer path is correct. Changing these may restart BethINI and correct the problem. If the profile path is still incorrect, simply browse to the correct folder.

The reason for the 404 is because I merged a topic into my thread, and it screwed up the thread number. I updated the pages on the Nexus but not in the app yet.

Next update, can you be sure you invest that issue with the archives not being put into the Skyrim.ini for Skyrim? This has happened on every profile I've made within MO2. If you have a check for MO, that might need to be altered due to MO2 changes, which returns the old BSA/Plugin relationship (users can no long allow MO2 to load BSAs without their associated plugins).

Interesting because it retained the resource archive list when I ran BethINI. I'm currently using Mod Organizer 2.1.4 Dev Build 2, but I  highly doubt this has any bearing on this issue.

Could you please replicate the issue and give me the log file? My monitor fell and broke in an accident, but I have a new one arriving Tuesday so I should be able to get a look at it hopefully.

Here's the link: https://mega.nz/#!VwdXjYAA!KROi99DyR_NLLREBlMmEy-AZQEAhKs2LQn16fn3xUYg

This is the log from a new profile and fresh INIs from the created profile. My setup has all programs for modding installed an a separate SSD (D:). MO2 is using instances so all the MO2 data is install in AppData on my C: drive.

You need to press the Default preset button in order for it to check for and add the archives, because the program assumes that you are modifying an existing INI file, not starting a new one from scratch. From your log, I can see you didn't reset the INI files to Default first. I guess I can make a check to ensure that someone doesn't inadvertently use an INI file that is missing those values. The reason why I don't just always force those files is because I wish to maintain compatibility with various total conversion mods, like Enderal for example, that changes the archive settings to it's own archives.

Ah, my mistake. I remember that now, but for some reason was thinking, "they're already 'default' INIs".
