Lexy's: Legacy of The Dragonborn Special Edition

Recommended Posts

Hi, its my first time using the guide and I'm at the trees/flora section and I have a some problems that I don't know how to fix.

1. At night all light sources emit extremely bright light. https://imgur.com/a/IAytEvR

2. Certain textures look grainy and they flicker/move only when I move my character. It's very noticeable especially on groundcover and trees as their textures become grainy and flicker constantly when my character is moving.

3. Unnaturally bright snow on dead snow logs. https://imgur.com/a/6D0zCFa

4. Flickering shadows from small shrubs/plants.

The guide has been updated with a couple new mods and a number of updated versions

A few questions with regards to the changes:

A) You've updated the Black Sacrament Armor, but not Lustmord Vampire. They have the same author and changes made to their mods - why one and not the other? Also, this change apparently now requires additional work to get the physics that the previous version had (if I read correctly). Are these changes really what we want?

B) In the position you've placed the Rustic Word Walls, all but two files are overwritten by Vivid Landscapes two mods later. Does this not pretty much defeat the purpose of putting this in? In essence, we've changed next to nothing in the overall appearance of the word walls by doing this.

I'd wait until you finish the entire guide before trying to fix anything - most things are taken care of at or near the Finishing Line portion... although I admit that first pic is a tad odd. Not sure what's going on there.

3. If you are using SSE Engine Fixes as described in the guide, go into the ini and disable the snow sparkle fix.

4. Without seeing it, it may just be normal SSE behavior tbh.

KS Dragon Overhaul has a successor - KS Dragon Overhaul 2. The english is pretty broken, so it's hard to make it out totally, but it looks essentially like the original, but adds in a few new possibilities, such as stat bolstering from dragon soul absorbs. The scripting used in the original may be a bit more streamlined as well, somehow - again, its kind of hard to read. Possible upgrade/replace of the original mod?

EDIT: Reading in the comments, the changes are as follows:

    A) Streamlines the scripting process.

    B) Removed the "Vanilla/Mod" option of dragon behavior - so, in essence, one less option we have to change over in the MCM.

    C) Added in the dragon soul absorb options, which allow the PC to grow in strength (stats) through soul absorbs - this was apparently something another mod did/used to do that he has added in.

In all other respects, appears to be mostly unchanged.

Thanks, looks like I put Word Walls in the wrong place. As for the armor, we are not switching to the main version. Only the Black Sacrament armor had the optional version updated, Lustmore is still on 1.0

Now that the Kryp mods are being ported to SSE I might look at a reinstall once the guide has been updated!

I can’t seem to find where the faces problem happened, and it’s looking like a tear down and rework is what’ll be needed

It's somehow related to facegen files, but the fixes I've seen talked about seem... rather involved or arcane. If you figure this out, be sure to shout out. I've only seen Aela affected by this so far, which IIRC is the same NPC you saw with it.

Thanks, looks like I put Word Walls in the wrong place. Will review the other armor, it wasn't on my list for updates which looks like an oversight.

Here to support. I'd already done all the other updates and additions (though I hadn't moved the two Rustic mods to the positions you showed), but those two armor mods I left alone pending the question I had regarding the apparent removal of physics from the armors.

WRT KS Dragon Overhaul 2, I should also point out that there is NOT a Thunderchild patch for it yet (not sure if we were using it or not for the original), and that it requires a new game, not an upgrade in place - odd things happen if you replace it mid-game, apparently.

That armor update is correct, but note it is still the optional, not main version. Lustmore didn't get the an update to optional but black sacrament did. We are not switching to the main version of either.

Thanks for the reply that fixed the dead snow log issue. Here's two videos for my 2nd and 4th problem.

Interesting... it looks as KS Dragon Overhaul 2 fixes the issue with dead dragons landing perfectly before falling over. I think this is the translation of what he's trying to write:

Killing flying dragons is now possible in that when the dragon reaches 0% health, the dragon will no longer hand on the ground before dying. Instead, the dragon will ragdoll to the ground when it dies.

This particular behavior has always bugged me because it seems as if a dead dragon in the air should pretty much drop straight to the ground.

You're correct, Greg, but that was also in the original version. Nothing new there. :)

so after the merge do i keep majestic mountains activated so the esm can stay activated ?

or should i just cut the two majestic mountain esps out and place them into a different folder?

Keep the ESM activated, do not activate the two that got merged - the merged file contains those records, and it will work fine. You MAY want to re-run Relinker, just to be safe, though.

EDIT: In other update news, Sheson updated DynDOLOD to 2.43 in the last few minutes, for those who are in process of building.

EDIT: In other, other news, the BethINI download was reported to have a trojan of some sort in it - has this been confirmed or resolved yet?

I’ve found it on more than Aela, a number of the more important NPCs, so I’m thinking perhaps a problem with one of the main mod installs. If I find out what’s gone on, I’ll for certain post it! I utilized the suggestions posted and couldn’t find a fix at the moment.

I really don’t mind a tear down, and there seems to be a number of updates so it just might be worthwhile.

Finding hours for an install is easy, it’s finding the dozens of hours to play the game that’s difficult, what with little children and full time work :-) lol
