Lexy's: Legacy of The Dragonborn Special Edition

Recommended Posts

For reasons I fail to understand, vanilla lighting of the Hearthfires homes is completely bugged, especially the chandelier that gives out no light at all. None of our lighting mods corrects this, which is also beyond my understanding. The mod Improved Hearthfire Lighting SE was the solution I dug up. Here's a couple of screenshots for comparison.

Default lighting with this build: jXOvPsb.png and with Imp. Hearth. Lighting: EhH7fNH.png

A few mods that I think would complement this guide and fill in some gaps:

Textures:

Sovngarde HD: Does what it says, 4k and 2k options, only conflicts are with SSoS (2 files), Designs of the Nords (1 file), and ELFX (1 file, but has a patch on the mod page). All other Sovngarde textures are not covered by the guide.

LH's Dark Brotherhood Tenets - Vitro Glass Window HD: Retextures the Dark Brotherhood Tenets, which are already covered, but by a mod from Oldrim, as well as the vitro window which is uncovered currently (picture on mod page). 4k and 2k options.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/15789

LH's Dragon Glyphs HD 2K-4K: Retextures the dragon glyphs on word walls, which I like since you're usually seeing them pretty close up and are not covered yet. 4k and 2k options, as well as optional textures for the ridge walls, though those are already covered in the guide.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/15666

LH's Soul Cairn HD - COMPLETE Overhaul 2K-4K: Retextures the Soul Cairn, which is not covered by the guide. Toss-up between this and Soul Cairn HD, but this seems to be closer to vanilla so I think it's a better fit. 4k and 2k options. 4 conflicting files with SMIM, though it seems to work fine anyway.

Soul Gems:

Acquisitive Soul Gems Multithreaded: Works similarly to the Oldrim Smart Souls mod, restricting souls to appropriately-sized soul gems (Grand Soul to Grand Gem, etc.).

Magic:

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - Tomebound: This is what I'm currently using to round out my magic-wielder in place of The Lost Grimoire of Skyrim, which has yet to be ported. Adds a lot of spells from previous games as well as new ones, and fully integrates them in leveled lists and stave crafting. Compatible with Enairim.

Misc:

Missives: Recently released on SSE, it works similarly to the Notice Board mod, but restricts quests based on area. So if you pick up a notice in Whiterun, the quest will take you to a location in Whiterun Hold. You won't get a notice in Falkreath that takes you to Winterhold for example, which makes way more sense to me. The only exception to this rule is the courier quests, which again makes sense. It also exempts quest-restricted NPCs and allows for quitting the job if you want. I find it to be more immersive and a lot less annoying to use.

Thanks for all the work you do here!

So, when it's raining, I can't actually see the rain. All I can see are the water drops hitting the ground and me dripping. Did I screw up a patch or something?

Never mind, it was the ENB I was trying.

Can someone please explain in detail using small words how to use the Skyrim ENB manager? I thought I figured it out, apparently I didn't. And some ENBs tell you to make changes to things like skyrimprefs.ini and such. Then there's ones, like one made specifically for Vivid weathers, that want this: https://reshade.me/ I couldn't figure out what to do with that until I did the manual extraction and just got the two .dll files. It sounds like I put those in the Skyrim SE directory.

I'm doing well enough I guess handling these by deleting everything in Skyrim's enbseries directory and finding whatever files it put in the main directory and deleting those too when I want to switch. But if there's some way to use that ENB manager so I can just click to try different ones, I'd like to play with some others.

Oh, since I'm here, how do I stop getting two sets of screenshots every time I hit the Print Screen button? The .bmp files begin with enb, I'd rather keep the .png files. I changed KeyScreenshot=44 in enblocal.ini to KeyScreenshot= (a blank) but that didn't work.

Been using it with ELE/Relighting Skyrim and Shezrie's Hearthfire Kitchens and it "does what it says on the tin". Works great, no issues noticed in several test profiles "alternate starting" in various Hearthfire homes.

I have a stupid question.

regarding,

Optional

Merged
Legacy of the Dragonborn Patches SE - V4.0.4 - by SirJesto

Files to download :

  • OPTIONAL FILES - Legacy of the Dragonborn Patches SE

Special Installation: Manually extract the file DBM_MLU_Patch.esp from the archive.

Mod Notes Compatibility Patch between Morrowloot and Legacy of The Dragonborn.

Mod Merged: This mod is included in the MLU Patches Merged. Full details are on the Merge Page.

do I create an empty mod named legacy of the dragonborn morrowloot patch and then paste DBM_MLU_Patch.esp into the empty folder? Or am I way off base?

There are different ways to do it but that way would certainly work. You can also install the mod as normal, but when the FOMOD comes up click "Manual", then go to 05 MLU and set that folder as the data directory. That's what I did.

So I just finished the guide and did some stress tests! Works and looks amazingly (but I did have to remove the ENB effects due to them being too taxing on my computer). I just have a couple of questions:

1. I noticed that lights and stars have a bit of a "glow" around them - it is kind of distracting but I'm wondering what setting I have to fiddle with to get them to become less impactful. Screenshot of what I mean.

2. Now that I've done the main part of the mod guide, I realized I want a few additional mods to customize to my experience. I want to add Mortal Enemies, TK Dodge, TK Hitstop and TK Recoil to my load order. I know that these do not add anything to the leveled lists. How should I go about installing them? Install and LOOT-ify my load order or should I rebuild the Mator Smash patch?

Thanks again for the great guide!

Hey guys I have updated the link for Interesting NPCs - 3DNPC - Overhaul I have pointed to the LE Nexus page so can get an idea of what the NPC's will look like but I have added a link to to SSE Version that CyborgArmGun has on her Website.

Hopefully when she is ready she'll bring it back to SSE Nexus but as says that will be on her own terms which is fair enough.

Quick question about the Stunning statues of Skyrim, since I noticed that the statue from the College of Winterhold doesn't look quite right: at the Special Installation: After installation, copy and rename the following files as indicated: do we have to keep the original files in place? Or cut and paste then rename?

yes you need to keep the orginals in place that is why I say to "COPY" the files If I want you to move the you says to cut them
