Green-hued water and my ENB

Question

Could use some advice\help with ENB and water colors. SKyrim 32-bit.

 

The ENB I currently use, has the unfortunate effect of leaving pretty much all water with green hue or tint to it. Even the northern Sea shoreline is rimmed with a green glow.  From a distance, water looks, blueish, but when you get closer, you begin to see the green kicking in. THere is plenty of talk about the so-called 'green water bug', but this is coming form the ENB, and I don't find a lot of clear, unambiguous on that topic really. 

 

Adjusting muddiness and fennel has been of little help,  as it simply makes the green, darker, or glow a lot more, depending. It does nothing to remove it, much less restore water to a more realistic blue.

 

So, things that did NOT help

-Adjusting fennel, muddiness, or any value I tried.

-Removing my water mod.

-So called green water fix mods available on Nexus. None of them did anything.

(Did not remove my weather mod-vivid weathers if that helps).

 

 

I tested this by removing my current ENB, and loading up phinix with 308 binary and again, with the current 315. That fixed the water. Ocean water looked cold and grey again, and rivers lakes etc, no longer had that green hue. The enb itself, is great, one of the best Ive seen. but that water....

 

Appreciate any help I can get on this.

This is most likely a feature of the mod and is changing the water colors in the plugin. For that, you'll need to edit the plugin in xEdit.

It likely is a feature as you say. I tried setting the underwater imagespace back to Skyrim default, didnt do a thing either. As I am not very conversant on the mechanics involved, I may just have to let it go, or find another ENB. 

 

Speaking of WATER, any word on what is happening with W.A.T.E.R mod? I still use the latest version 5.0+ from before it got pulled.

I gave permission for my art assets to be moved into RWT for SSE. Tech actually handles RWT now. I can only explain my removal to be the intention to have things go into RWT to begin with. It just look a long time as other things have gotten in the way and I lost a bit of interest. If I would have stuck with the effects only (my fave), my interest might not have tanked.

 

Your issue brings up a good point for the inclusion of my animated wave meshes that I keep trying to get Tech to include. :P With the ones currently in RWT, they still retain default horrid colouring and opacity. It can look dreadful with certain lighting tweaks.

No, you'll need to change the actual colors. RWT's "Watercolor" option can be used as a reference, if you like. It's does the same thing...changes the color of the water.

That did it, not watercolor, those values made ocean's\lakes super green, but RWT basic values are a big improvment over WATER v5 default, at least in my ENB. Once I changed the values > default water and river water, the ENB settings, muddies and fren, started to have a much greater effect. With the old water values, adjusting those only served to make the greens greener, or darker.  The hot springs, are still super day-glow green, but that is a good thing. It looks like all I need to is convert water > RWT SSE values where applicable, then I should be able to tweak the ENB to find the ideal colors using that.

 

I sure apprecate the help guys.

You did? I'm sure you told me you were not sure or you needed to test them first. I don't see why they shouldn't be default as the ones in RWT now just make the splashes bigger. I'm sure I tweaked that and a hell of a lot more.

 

Or you could mean you added my extra placements of these waves from my plugin in the Skyrim world? You are pretty cryptical at times so who knows? ;)

Any chance we'll see WATER's waterplants addon in RWT at some point? The shorelines definitely need something there. SSE doens't have a good alternative right now.

Hey I was having somewhat the same issue. But I mainly dislike the "day-glow" in the hot springs, that you mentioned. Especially when it's raining it looks really weird, because the environment is quite dark but the water is super bright and yellow/greenish. At night the glowing stops.

 

Do you, or anyone else, know how to change that?

 

I'm using the Rudy ENB with RWT (realistic water two). I included the .ini tweaks mentioned on those two pages. Also I couldn't find the water section in the in-game ENB settings.

      I use the STEP ENB (light) and which looks good and works well 99.9% of the time. But sometimes, when I move from an indoor cell into Skyrim, the graphics turn dark blue (during the day)  or black (at night). What I mean is, I can barely see the surroundings and lights are slightly more visible, but the screen is mostly a uniform blue or black color? This makes it impossible to see when you are going. Most of the time this is solved by going back indoors then back out. Yesterday however, I had to reload a save (not an autosave) to get it to turn normal again, losing progress.
      I haven't been able to reproduce this nor does it happen very often. I am just wondering if someone else is experiencing this and what could possibly be the cause? I know next to nothing about ENBs, so I am unable to troubleshoot this myself. I also forgot to take a screenshot of it. I will add one when/if it happens again.

      So I'm having this issue where ENB seams to break the "seamless" horizon provided by cathedral weathers. Doesn't seem to matter what ENB I use, no conflicts in Xedit however I have read on a few forums (STEP) that this issue seems to be present no matter what and the more detailed rendering offered by ENB can make this issue more noticeable. Also this definitely seems more prominent during dawn/dusk nor really visible during other times. I'm not sure if it's really a mod issue, or if it's just another one of those fugly bethesda seams that we all inevitably see. ENB doesn't seem to matter I always notice this on clear dawn/dusks. Any input or advice would be appreciated.
