This author has been going through the texture mods and making his moss texture compatible with them. He finally posted this one for the mod STEP uses. It looks fantastic; however, I don't now how important the moss texture on a rock is....I'll let you be the judge of that.

Wow, that is so awesome and badly needed. If I remember right, the rocks in the pictures he uploaded used to be bare and clean in vanilla, right? Always found that strange - realistically, rocks are rarely clean in nature unless they're young fragments, or systematically stripped by sand storms, clearly not the case in Skyrim.

I was actually just thinking about how bleh the moss was last night while playing. There's quite the amount of rocks in Skyrim and personally I think this mod fits rather well as in the screenshots it looks great.

 

I'll be trying this out then.

These look great. The only thing left to think about is "red or yellow?"

 

EDIT: Pretty sure yellow is the way to go.

This is a must add for STEP IMO. I hope that he does the mountains as well (using green/red/yellow, but sparingly and in clusters on the correct faces).

I have yet to try any of these two mods myself, but perhaps they would both be an improvement to what's currently in STEP/TPC. I'll download those mountains while I sleep tonight. Yay for crappy broadband. :(

 

EDIT: Nm the mountains. Just saw the specific thread about them and it seems they have some disadvantages.

I believe he made a version for that mod as well if anyone is still interested in using it. There is also a thread on these Rocks Texture. I don't think they're be used in STEP. You can view the thread here.
