HraTaika Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 So, just found this when browsing for mods. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/4374 I feel that this might have some potential, as it is pretty much exactly something that I have been looking for my Skyrim mod collection.
Sairven Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Better Magic is pretty awesome, been using it for a long while. It's basically a vanilla enhancement without much addition at all, which pretty much fits STEPs philosophy very well on top of fixing severe issues with magic and making schools other than Destruction have worth.
HraTaika Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Very interesting, I'll be trying it later in the evening. Apparently the author is still supporting the mods yes?
Sairven Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Yeah, he still pops in from time to time. He helped the fellow out who did another mod that's in STEP (one of two I suggested and are still in STEP to this day), which was the Projectile Soul Trap mod. :) The other was Clams Drop Pearls. Still wondering what's up with the Better Docks suggestion I made. :P
Besidilo Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Still wondering what's up with the Better Docks suggestion I made. :P Unlikely to get implemented any time soon.
rpsgc Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 As an alternative, someone has picked up 'Balanced Magic' and fixed/cleaned it. https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27979
TechAngel85 Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 As an alternative, someone has picked up 'Balanced Magic' and fixed/cleaned it.https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27979Downloaded. I was using the other version. I'll give this one a try.
HraTaika Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 As an alternative, someone has picked up 'Balanced Magic' and fixed/cleaned it.https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27979This is some good news indeed. Will take a look at that one too!
peacefulmoments Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 As an alternative, someone has picked up 'Balanced Magic' and fixed/cleaned it.https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27979I use balanced magic also; I recommend balanced magic (with "Master" setting) over better magic. -Peace.
z929669 Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Any other input on Better Magic after testing? Could one of you Balanced-Magic advocates create that thread with a descriptive OP?
peacefulmoments Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I use apocalypse spells, midas magic, revenge of collete, ace magic & synergy, & skyrim spells + powers so I didn't want any magic overhaul that messed with the spells, balanced magics main feature seems to be boosting vanilla stats to make everything more powerful in general, which is necessary in my game due to all the added difficulty mods I use for combat. it has modularity across magic skillsets (alteration destruction etc - i use them all) and three levels of boosting (i use master setting which is the least boosting) Balanced magic also doesn't require dawnguard, anything requiring dawnguard doesn't make it into my game as I don't have it. hope that helps some, peace.
TechAngel85 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 This conflicts with IndigoNeko's Balanced Perk Trees as they both change the same values for magics.
