I'm calling it a night (actually it's morning now...lol). The guide is still being edited and it is still advisable to hold off on trying to install it just yet. In fact, if you have installed anything from this guide before today, it is being completely reorganized. This does not mean that you will necessarily have to uninstall your mods, but you will have to reorder your installed mods (Wrye Bash users will need to Anneal and install missing files as well). I still plan to have all of the edits completed before the upcoming weekend (hopefully no later than Friday morning). Patches for the mod are underway.
-
It's much easier actually. You simply move your files where you would like. You do not have to uninstall, reinstall, or anneal. Each mod is contained in it's own folder. BSA Extraction is also much easier with Mod Organizer.
-
Notice to ALL: The guide is being reorganized for install order. Some files need to over write others. Hold off for a few more days on following the guide. We are in the process of finalizing the mods.

Added Dreadlocks Replacer to Character Overhaul Section. Added to MOB_Clothing, Armor, and Weapons section: Legion Armor Combined Local Guards Features
-
Added to MOB_Graphics Overhaul: Morrowecology
-
Added to the UI Section: DarNifiedUI Config Addon was mistakenly removed from the guide.

I have implemented the performance tweaks for the Oblivion.ini Suggested Tweaks. I also added an additional note of who suggests the tweaks. If a note isn't listed, it most likely was taken from the TweakGuides.com or other reliable source. JD and I have also been comparing our INI tweaks. Hopefully the latest Oblivion.ini will improve some performance. There are still a few locations where FPS will drop drastically, but tweaking the Oblivion.ini will not resolve that issue. We will try to research for other performance enhancing solutions later on. Edit: I forgot to mention that the tweaks are adjusted so as not to lose quality. Edit: Changed [Landscape]fLandTextureTilingMult=1.0000 ;recommended for Landscape retexture

I've been tweaking the Oblivion.ini to improve performance. It is still in testing, but if all goes well I will add the tweaks to the guide.

Agreed. Also, my intention with this guide is to help teach others the process of modding. Hopefully when people have followed our guides from the STEP Wiki they'll feel more confident with setting up mods for their games to their own preference. The beginning of this guide, which I started a couple of years ago was for my personal reference. I only shared it at the start because others were asking me questions and it was the simplest way for me to explain how I did what. It grew from user requests who wanted me to add additional mods, but it's still mostly catered to my own preferences.

Better Cities was most definitely a huge performance hog and why I choose not to run it again. But I do like the change in scenery. My favorite mods in SRLE: Legacy of The Dragonborn Reqtified were the ECTV and WLSO sections. Also, I love Legacy of the Dragonborn altogether because of the museum and hunt for artifacts. I'll try Open Cities Reborn this time around. If I don't like it and it does prove to be a performance hog, I will remove it.
-
Ponyrider0 uses some method outside of Windows that can fix this for us. We'll ask when he/she returns, which I expect to be within a few days. Dont' give up just yet.

I recommend everyone hold off on installing any Quest and Adventure Mods for now. We will be modding with Open Cities Reborn by Arthmoor, so I need to make certain the quests that are currently in the list as well as any future mods added to the list will be compatible. I know that at the start I intended to mostly follow Bevilex Graphics Overhaul modlist, but I keep streaming towards other mods that have peaked my interest over time, and I would love to try out. We'll still try to make it as performance friendly as we can. Bear in mind, Morroblivion on its own can be performance intensive in certain cells no matter what we do for now. As I've said before, I love exploring. Mods that add unique scenery and treasure hunts are my favorite.

I just finished installing up through the Morroblivion Overhaul Section. I didn't expect it to take me all day. The next section for me to review and possibly revise is the Quests and Adventures. I'll try to get through it tonight, but I'm in CST so it's almost 10:00 pm for me.

Jihubs head after the Character Overhaul section: https://imgur.com/fHHHkbq https://imgur.com/tNXtF1p I'm not sure why my links are broken when I try to click on them. Sorry.

Nice, so far I have not had a single "Access Denied" error, or "Memory" error, installing even the most stubborn mods with Mod Organizer today. Hopefully the rest of the guide will move as smoothly. Wrye Bash is an amazing utility and even Mod Manager for some things, but MO still tops the list imo.

Migck's Miscellaneous fixes tweaks and additions was just updated.

Everyone, I forgot to include the esp file with MOB_OA DarkUI_TLS.7z, so if you downloaded it, you'll need to download and install the esp with it. Sorry.

It isn't ready for release either. It will be released at the end of the guide. I have not finished working out the Quests Sections just yet. I see you are already into it. I'll try to review that section this afternoon. Wrye Bash has been a headache for me too. When I find solutions to certain problems I experience, I have been listing them in the Trouble Shooting section towards the end of the guide.

I'm going to call it a night. I'll pick the guide back up from my desktop tomorrow. I was able to install mods successfully with Wrye Bash on my laptop through the Overhauls section. Everything looks great, but as I mentioned in my previous post my laptop is beginning to struggle: Motherboard: DELL N3JV3 DDR3 SDRAM OS: Windows 10 Home Processor: Intel® Core i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz, 2001 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) RAM: 16.0 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M Hard Disks: Standard Disk Drive Case or Enclosure: Laptop I will not push modding on the laptop any further. I have Mod Organizer set as my mod manager on the desktop. I'll try to keep the instructions consistent, but I may need you all to help me out by keeping your eyes open for any errors I make in my edits.
-
It looks much better after I added the Character Overhaul. I would have taken a screenshot, but my laptop is struggling to keep up with the guide through the Overhauls section. OA_Dark Transparent UI. It is the best, imo. The fonts are much easier to read and the HUD is greatly improved. It is all in the UI section now. Including Oblivion XP which does need to be installed before OA_Dark Transparent UI.

I did the same thing when I first started modding several years ago, and it continues to be a learning experience. It's frustratingly fun.

See the BOSS Log that is run to sort the load order. Click on "Recognized Plugins" and look at Knights - Unofficial Patch.esp Version 1.1.8 Active Checksum: CCDA5239 Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Actors.ACBS, Actors.AIPackages, Factions, Relations, Relev}} The other tags were present, but Relev was missing. So that instruction was added to the guide.
-
All the Bash Tags that are recommended for Unofficial DLC Shivering Isles are already tagged by the plugin, so you shouldn't have to do anything further.
-
Let me run BOSS to check that. I don't remember it being recommended for DLC Shivering Isles. It's not mentioned for DLC Shivering Isles. When you run BOSS, it is always a good idea to check the Bash Tag Suggestions. I may miss a few. I'll try to list them in the guide, but sometimes I may slip up.
-
Yes, we will not be optimizing those. The basic reason for extracting the meshes and textures is for us to optimize them at the end of the guide. Personally, I extract all my BSAs anyway, but it's not necessary. I just prefer all loose files. It will be up to the user if they would like to do that as well. I'll try to only recommend BSA extraction for the files we want to optimize.
