SKYRIMLE Better Falskaar and Wyrmstooth Map With Roads by swordboy
DoYouEvenModBro replied to CJ2311's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Is Falskaar really good? I'm surprised it doesn't require that many patches. Just RW2 and SkyFalls/Mills. I'm assuming ELFX doesn't touch it? -

Wow, No More Glowing Edges Mod by Ftreach should be part of S.T.E.P. Core. -

It's unfortunate if the texture blending isn't done very well because the textures themselves are very well done. -

Kk. If i drag a file to match up with the last mod loaded, that just alters that .esp, right? Does it create a new patch file? You have to right click the file that you want and select copy as override then select new file, give it a super snazzy name, then click OK and it will appear on the far right. You can then add things that you want to keep from other files by dragging them to the new patch file. Once again though I really dont think it is necessary. :) P.S I have had a look at this snow, will need to see if the game can handle 4K textures or weather the 2K is as good. Certainly looks good. I'm personally going to use the 4k when I get home tomorrow to test. I have a 4gb VRAM card though. I'm sure 2k is fine. I just wanted to see if you were aware in case you missed the thread. I really think this is an impressive-looking mod. -

Is one a normal map and the other the texture file? I thought normal maps were purpleish. -
Yup. That was one of the same threads that I read previously, haha.

Yea, wow. The detail in that is great. Are those the two snowongrass textures or whatever they're called? Also, if these are clearly different than vanilla then no, I wouldn't suggest putting this before Terrain Bump...that might look weird. -

You're missing the link. -
When you say modded foliage, are you referring to mods like HD Trees and Skyrim Flora Overhaul? I have a MSI p67a-gd65 (B3) motherboard. It's PCI-e 2.0. I'm using it with an ASUS r9 290 4gb

What res are you using? I WOULD use 4 res. I'm at work and I won't be home until tomorrow afternoon. I'm just looking at the screenshots. I should have been specific. Judging by the screenshots...this mod is the best looking one that I have ever seen, haha. If someone wants to test them out in game (octopuss, looking at you), can you test it with and without terrain bump to see which is better? I might just straight swap this in for HQ Snow. -

I said it before and I'll say it again. This is the best looking snow mod that I've ever seen. In terms of the blue, only the first few screenshots look blue, so it was probably just the lighting. -
Interesting, maybe some areas of Skyrim just drop you to a certain FPS regardless of how powerful your GPU is. That's why I thought about bandwidth limits...I read up on the PCI-e 2.0 vs 3.0. The consensus seems to be that you can gain anywhere from 1-5 fps by having a PCI-e 3.0 motherboard and GPU. That doesn't sound like much and most likely doesn't' explain this issue, does it?

DROPPED HQ Snow Texture (by Erik and gorefest2011)
DoYouEvenModBro replied to erik1988's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yea, but Terrain bump also does rocks, mountains, roads, and some of the volcanic tundra normals as well. -

DROPPED HQ Snow Texture (by Erik and gorefest2011)
DoYouEvenModBro replied to erik1988's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Oh. So it's the part of the texture that deals with 'depth'. So how is it that Terrain Bump normals can be combined with mods like HQ Snow if Terrain Bump was made off of VANILLA textures? -
Agreed. As soon as I figure out how/if to combine this with Terrain Bump, I'm swapping it in.

DROPPED HQ Snow Texture (by Erik and gorefest2011)
DoYouEvenModBro replied to erik1988's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
What exactly is a 'normal map'? I've asked a ton of times but no one ever answers me :-P. Also, how can Terrain Bump normals be used with non-vanilla mods? How do the regular textures and normal maps (whatever those are) match? -
Maybe you can answer this for me. What in the world is a 'normal texture'. I don't understand and it's confusing because Terrain Bump is only normals.

DROPPED HQ Snow Texture (by Erik and gorefest2011)
DoYouEvenModBro replied to erik1988's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If I decide to use a different snow mod, should I still overwrite it with Terrain Bump? Or is that impossible to say without comparing? I'm not sure if it's like a 'rule' that Terrain Bump should overwrite all snow mods or something. -
What exactly does better dynamic snow do? It was removed from step because of seam-issues but it was never re-evaluated. Also, do you use Prod80's weather patch? If so, are you using the snow -40 or -10 (you'll know what i mean if you use that patch). Also, mods, feel free to spin this discussion off into a different thread for this mod.

pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)
DoYouEvenModBro replied to Smile44's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Smile, you should really take a look at this Snow mod by Yuril. I think it blows HQ Snow out of the water, which I never thought I'd say. If you want to include it in your pack, we need to figure out whether or not we would use the Weather Patch -40 or -10. Also, which version of this mod we want to use (regular or dark version). https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49011/? Check it out. I've never seen a snow retexture mod get that 'clumpy' snow look right. -
Do you prefer the regular or dark version? Also, Im' going to suggest this mod in Smile44's Weather and Lighting Pack thread.Â

Spock, for clarity (since there's like 3 different threads on thsi right now) can you please post EXACTLY what you did to fix your stuttering/fps issue? Also, please post your CCC settings, Skyrimprefs vsync (either on or off) and your enblocal.ini. Thanks!
