security RSS FEEDS & HTTPS [S.T.E.P. Wiki & Forums]
CloakedBreton posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
I am wondering if the following are active, or can be used with STEP Wiki & Forum: RSS Feeds HTTPS (secure) login (Example: bbPress.org) HTTPS brows-ability (e.g., HTTPS Everywhere friendly) Is not, can there be? PM me if a problem. Thank you! I like using apps like Newsify EDIT: I see "feed.png" in pages elements, so I think RSS/atam isn't configured https://i.imgur.com/qREsg8p.png I found a brief RSS (atom) link (non-https) method for, say, STEP Project 2.2.9 page: https://wiki.step-project.com/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&feed=atom -

Stardate: 2015.12.2 Recommendations: "MO Users: must deactivate Mod Organizer's internal FOMOD installer for the DSR FOMOD to properly detect the mods installed." Still relative? (I am at this point ... anxious to see my first STEP attempt completed, and into game! Thx) -
MO says some of my mods aren't installing fully?

TES5EDIT or LOOT? I see TES5EDIT launcher selected in pics. -
Where is my bashed patch (using MO)?
CloakedBreton replied to sabreone's question in Wrye Bash Support
I followed the Recommendations , after closing WB, and overwrite was empty: until I closed and reopened MO. There was the shiney, where it's supposed to be! (in overwrite in MO) -
[Here is a MS note regarding Win 8.1] Via Microsoft: "Windows Defender for Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1 provides built-in protection against malware. You can't use Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows 8.1, but you don't need to - Windows Defender is already included and ready to go. But if you’re looking to protect a PC with an older version of Windows, you can use Microsoft Security Essentials to help guard against viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It provides free* real-time protection for your home or small business PCs. Note: Windows Defender is also available in earlier versions of Windows. However, in earlier versions Windows Defender only provides protection against spyware. In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, Windows Defender provides full malware protection for your PC. Malware consists of viruses, spyware, and other potentially unwanted software."

DROPPED Immersive Skyrim Thunder V6 (by Wordeee)
CloakedBreton replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
From a NEXUS comment: "For those of you who came here in the year 2015 I can firmly confirm that this mod works with everything. The .esp only modifies one sound descriptor and nothing else. If you have audio overhaul mods (AOS 2 or ISC) or the "Longer Durations and Annoyance Fixes" mod then place it after those. This is a timeless and very welcome mod for immersion heads." Meta Rule needed in Recommends for STEP? -

[using MAIN file .bsa here + both optionals] Looking at the "Filetree" after install: ... and looking at "Optional ESPs": ... recommend moving "BSFEffects.esp" UP, or not? EDIT: I decided to NOT MESS WITH moving optionals (default?) -

How did your results go? Also, did you choose BSA or Loose main file? (just curious ... so many varied comments on NEXUS and here) Thanks! -

non-City-slicker here, with DSL internet connection ... slowly moving through the STEP Core page : I hope I'm not being nit-picky, but "trimming" mods of possible unnecessary fluff OK? E.g., "BeforeAfterExample.gif": ... leave, delete, personal choice? (I will stop these newbie Qs ASAP!) -
I I may check into that [if MSE will not conflict with Webroot SE]. Via PCWorld article: "Webroot did a better job of protecting against known malware (arising within 30 days of the testing), successfully blocking 99 percent of attacks. Microsoft Security Essentials blocked just 93 percent of known malware attacks). However, most of the other security suites in our roundup successfully blocked 100 percent of known malware attacks." But, is this a marketing (biased) comment? Anyway ... I do also use Webroot Secure Everywhere (not "for PC Gamers") and it might seem overkill - or worse, mangle current AV/Malware & gaming environment. Thanks for responses!

MO Users: To install the Content Addon: "Warning: The Bashed Patch must be used (instructions later in the Guide) when installing the Content Addon! Failing to do so will cause issues (e.g., naked NPCs). There are special instructions for the Content Addon on the Bashed Patch mod page. Please note these instructions when building your Bashed Patch later on in the Guide." I may have missed something in the above posts. Do I install as STEP section order "2.I. Clothing & Equipment" .. or wait until AFTER Bashed Patch is installed at "2.N. Patches" ? As per "Install mods in the order that they are presented in the following tables in order to achieve the desired result" bullet, at top of page. EDIT: Otherwise, to me, Warning : ... reads -as if- Content Addon [only/of group] should be moved down the STEP page (bear with my embarrassing learning curve!) -
I am looking forward to The Ruffled Feather recommends "update" - when testing is done (RE: S.T.E.P. Core Project 2.2.9 page ... rather than SR:LE) Edit: I picked ONE option that mentioned "STEP" in The Ruffled Feather, for now.

Awesome, thank you!

High or Standard? "Normal" isn't a specific option.

I agree on Recommends update, now that The Ruffled Feather mod is so early in the STEP process (rather than reinstall, reselect options, etc.) -

Baseline: 1024 under Recommendations ... Wiki [update] for Recommendations coming with The Ruffled Feather? I do not mean to pester ... just "WATER Main" and other choices, I don't want to muck things up, if possible. TY -

I am in my first S.T.E.P. 2.2.9 Project install ... I just reached Enhanced Distant Terrain by SparrowPrince and wondered if I should skip it? I can't see staying in a holding pattern. Thank you! [New member and new modder. FWIW!]
