Yep that's the price to pay for using the unofficial skyrim patch. Well worth the cost. :)
-
Yeah never keep unused esps around like that. :) Bashed Patch is only available with Wrye Bash yeah, and wouldn't really help stability in this case most likely anyway, just make certain mods work better together
-
Just open them in Photoshop etc and Match Color of the SRO textures vs the RCRN textures. For some you'd need to create a new layer and use Match Color on that one instead and then merge it with Darken as otherwise some areas were still bright. In this case it was supersimple really since snow-textures have so few colors

Hm, besides the 2 SkyRe-files issue you fixed, what I can as possible causes: - No bashed patch? - And the realms of daedra, sadly causes CtD's for a lot of people - Moonpath, same as above - Ars Metallica not sure it's compatible with SkyRe, might very well be though - SkyRe 0.99.8+ is very unstable atm, he has mentioned that people should revert to 0.99.7 for stability until he gets it stable. Should be soon. - Cloaks, you're supposed to use only one file but you have all 3 loaded - Cowardly horses. Again you have both options for each active (Cowardly Frost + Cowardly Essential Frost etc, just pick one)

They have a config-tool with v3 for you to use. Just run it and disable the stuff you don't want.

Ok SRO textures for RCRN are done, not sure if allowed to upload it somewhere as they're originally Starac's work, just edited. The pine-texture from RCRN is pointless to use if you have Skyrim Flora Overhaul btw as those don't get "overbrightened" when used with RCRN. All screens are with ENB disabled even though the loadingtext is showing on one, but I turned it off with Shift+F12 on all examples to show pure RCRN lighting. RCRN snow textures: https://i.imgur.com/QSVIU.jpg SRO 1024 texture (notice the extreme brightness): https://i.imgur.com/Wogkg.jpg SRO 1024 edited for RCRN: https://i.imgur.com/ojbVy.jpg And no, this is not meant to diss SRO in any way since his textures are not designed to be used with RCRN and they look amazing when not using RCRN. :)

Download Skyrim Enhanced Shaders, it has a pdf document explaining the enbseries.ini in detail. Changing specifics of the DoF settings is done via the enbeffectprepass.fx however and is not explained there as it's far more complex. The pdf does not have info about the new additions to the .ini with .110 and .111 however, but those are explained in the ENB readme anyway

CPU affinity - two different approaches

Think I'll take your advice on that and just stick to the current setup for now, I don't have any real performance issues or anything anyway. :) -
Here's a WIP-setup of ENB .111 for use with RCRN made by my brother and me. It uses the Enhanced Shaders ENB setting as a base but in the .ini almost nothing remains of his settings, and the DoF has been very much remade aswell as we both hate when DoF is too strong as it is with most ENB setups. Also some changes to bloom in the enbeffect.fx have been made. It was made for RCRN 2.1 but seems to work fine with RCRN 3 with the little testing done so far. It tried to stick as close as possible to the RCRN lighting. SSAO settings have not been tinkered with since .110 release so needs some work but that is easy to do (under [sSAO_SSIL] in the ini) for what suits you best. Also included are some textures for sunglare/moon that my brother made specifically for this setup. Obviously optional if you don't want them. :P Anyway as I said it's a work in progress but in my personal opinion it's the best ENB setup for use with RCRN if you actually want the effects such as SSAO and DoF etc. No binary included as Boris doesn't want that! https://www.mediafire.com/?9ba98dq2m549481

CPU affinity - two different approaches
Vond replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Using the memory configurator to find what's compatible with my board on the Corsair website it finds the board but only shows specifics for P55-series, not the mobo itself. It recommends 1600Mhz memories for the "enthusiast" and "highest density" setups and 1866mhz for the "overclocker" setup etc. But yeah, the fact that I have stock fan is the main reason I've never delved into this before as I figure it might not be worth it, but also read somewhere that people have gotten it stable at ~3.4Ghz with stock fan on this cpu -

Alright cheers, good to know if/when I find an SSD! -
RCRN v3 even mentions it as "not suggested" since it comes with dynimaclly adjusted weathers. It worked fine with RCRN 2.1 though back when I used it so it's not that its incompatible, just not necessary

you should be able to find an old 20GB ssd for around $30 online, same caveat with AHCI though. Otherwise use the slower drive for your pagefile and temp files. Thanks, I have no idea about AHCI but can post what it says about storage interfance below. :) I'll look around some for cheap small SSD's, and will put pagefile and temp files on the slow drive -
Post your loadorder in spoilers, might be something completely different causing it. Also post your enbseries.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini

CPU affinity - two different approaches
Vond replied to Vond's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just checked some basics about my mobo when it comes to memory as can be seen below. Says support for 2200/1333/1066/800 modules, so that means 1600 won't work or? I'm an utter noob at these things as I've never bothered with OCing the CPU or memory, only the GPU. They are currently running at 1333 4 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory (Note 1)Dual channel memory architectureSupport for DDR3 2200/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modulesSupport for non-ECC memory modulesSupport for Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) memory modules -

Yeah that's what I've been doing currently, I keep OS and games on that drive and dump everything I download to the other drive. So with the specs there, would you recommend using the slower drive as pagefile dump aswell or just keep it on the OS drive? Heard some people kept like 300mb pagefile on OS and then a proper system-managed pagefile on another drive etc but there are so many things being said about pagefiles on the net that are just comletely wrong that it's hard to know -

An ideal pagefile would be split into two parts, each the size of your installed RAM (or 75% of RAM), and would be situated at the beginning of physical drives used solely for media storage (you can accomplish this by creating small partitions at the beginning of each drive). Even, better, you could use one tiny SSD I would think for your pagefile. This keeps paging from thrashing your OS and game drives... however, with 8 Gb of RAM, I would think that paging out is rare. The main thing is to get Steam and games OFF of the OS drive and onto something fast and physically independent from the OS. That's the prob, my 2nd drive is slower than the OS drive, and I don't have any SSD nor can I afford one in the near future. :) So I do want Skyrim on this drive for that reason, unless there would still be performance gains from putting it on the other (slower) drive just from having it on another drive even if slower? The main drive is a 7200rpm Seagate Barracuda and the other one is a 5400rpm Western Digital Caviar Green -

Would it work to simply move the entire pagefile to another drive rather than reinstall Steam? I remember the Skyrim Installation Guide and figured I'd follow the part about keeping Steam on another drive than the OS when re-installing, but then forgot all about when I actually reinstalled windows and all programs last week. -
Yeah Shogun 2 was quite excellent too though very different, but the only strategygames I've stuck with for long periods of time are SC1/BW til WC3 release, then WC3 til SC2 release, and I still play SC2 online just about every day. :)

That's the point, using SRO landscape on top of RCRN causes overbrightened snow in many weathers, so will need to edit the textures to make them work properly. Will be looking into that later tonight

CPU affinity - two different approaches

Got a slight boost actually, from 12,61 to 12,99. Might just be random factors though. Only bought the new HDD because my old one was really slow and dying, and I got the RAM almost for free from a friend who upgraded (10€) :) I don't do SLI, have a single GTX 560 Ti-448 card with 1280mb. It is OCd @840Mhz Core, 2200Mhz Memory. Anyway Im still interested in those settings you used, 4Ghz is not something I'll attempt on stock cooling but I've been considering something like 3.2-3.4Ghz which should most likely work unless I'm mistaken -
Yeah the cinematics was the main reason I played thru Diablo 1 & 2, and the reason I most likely will play thru D3 at some point in the future. Blizzard just do amazing cinematics!

What is your mobo? I also use that exact same processor. It is highly OC-able, and I have gone from 2.8 to 4.0 GHz, completely stable. Pretty significant performance increase too. My temps NEVER get above 75C and that only rarely when I am running Prime or stressing the CPU for stability testing. I can give you specs that work well for the DP55KG mobo (my board), but you will need to pick up some quality RAM capable of running @ 1600. I use a particularly high-spec Corsair variety (with XMP) that I can recommend (7-8-7-20). My ENB results (do the same for a good compare). Similar specs could also work for your board though. My mobo is a Gigabyte P55-USB3. I do have RAm capable of running at 1600 and higher (8gb Corsair Vengeance that are capable of running @ 1866, and 4gb of Corsair XMS3 that can go up to 1600. I only have stock cooling on the CPU, and have a Fractal Design Refine R3 chassi, again just with the coolers that came with it. Would be very interested anyways in safe OCing. :) I did run the ENB test, but that was before getting new HDD and the 8gb Corsair Vengeance RAM that I picked up last week, so will have another go. Got 12.61 last time. -
Gonna have a look at changing the SRO textures (only the ones that RCRN replaces ofcourse, and I simply deleted the terrain folder from RCRN as I don't think that was meant to be there at all as there was no reason for it) to work with RCRN 3 without overbrightened snow. Shouldn't be too hard methinks, but doubt it'll be releaseable since it's Starac's work. The snowtextures with RCRN just look so out of place with their low resolution on a STEP install..
