  1. Are you sure the installer hasn't started minimised and/or is hidden behind an open window, much like SkyUI's installer does? Check your taskbar.
  2. Going somewhat off-topic: Speaking of finding conflicts in plugins and making patches-- what does one do to fix those? Where do you begin after you open up the plugins in TES5Edit to see what is in conflict between two or more plugins; how do you decide which to override? It's something I'd like to learn more about, since I use quite a few extra mods on top of my SR install, e.g. ESF: Aela the Huntress and the companion mod which modifies the Companions and their quests. Looking at them in xEdit shows some conflicts with Moonlight Tales, for starters; Bring Out Your Dead as well, which I think can be fixed in the same way the other compatibility patches for it are made? I'd like to figure out how to patch those myself, but am not sure how. Guidance would be appreciated, but if this isn't the place I'll take my questions to the main forums.
  3. I notice that the author of Moonlight Tales suggests a few mods to go with his, particularly Werewolf Mastery, for which there is already a full combined version available. Might be a viable addition to SR...
  4. Bashed Patch weirdness with RND? Yeah, there is some. Not game breaking or very noticeable, but it is there. I think that for mine at least, what I remember off hand is I was missing sweet rolls in the inns vendor lists.
  5. Patching DSR with a clean MO overwrite folder-- basically cleaned out all the Skyproc Patchers folders in \overwrite and reinstalled everything; SUM hasn't been used. However as soon as it starts importing with the message "importing Skyrim.esm", I get this error: Not sure why it's happening now when it's never done that before. Was fine up until yesterday actually. I've set the executable (java.exe) to run with this argument -Xmx1024m, but no help either, which puzzles me. Anyone know what's happening here?
  6. I guess I better start downloading it now then? Just as well I have yet to actually start my latest test playthrough-- though at the rate this is going it feels like I'm never going to have a load order I can settle down with for a serious game I won't have to keep repatching for. Eh, don't mind me-- I'm just extremely frustrated with SUM at the moment. It keeps hanging on patching Lootification or Dual Sheath Redux, for no good reason.
  7. @Neovalen is D1955 the only incompatibility that needs fixing for Book Covers Skyrim in a separate patch, or can we leave the other conflicts as is for now? I'm planning on getting in game sometime this evening. Been too long since I actually played now LOL.
  8. I would use SUM except it's not playing well with Lootification for me, and hasn't since Lootification was released actually. Doesn't work well with GELO either, so I've given up on having Diablo-style loot. :( AV, ASIS, and I think DSR are fine, but those two loot-adding mods seem to make SUM fall over on my machine. I'm thinking it's possible memory issues-- ridiculous since I have 8GB, but given the memory limitations of 32-bit Java I do believe it might be a problem for the mods I want to run. Currently SUM keeps hanging as soon as it starts up LLI.jar, or gets to the importing stage, imports some mods and then hangs. And this happens, even if AV and presumably DSR work perfectly fine with SUM. It's irritating because if I just patch them one by one, everything works fine even if the waiting period is long. ETA: I've managed to get everything working now-- apparently cleaning memory before patching seems to have done the trick. 11 minutes for all patches (AV, LLI, DSR) to complete. Same thing happened as with statmonster's results: SUM generated the individual AV, LLI and DSR patches, activated those, and also created a SUM.esp, which it left inactive. I'm hoping not to have to regenerate the patches anytime soon, to be honest; I can never tell if my system will cooperate and patch without kicking up a fuss on any given day. *sigh*
  9. Well! Thanks for that reminder ath3nos! I checked and the config file WAS the issue. I managed to leave out Dragonborn.esm altogether since I just got it less than 2 days ago-- AFTER configuring the CK previously for the other DLCs I had. >.< That'll teach me to go through and revise my SR install on too little sleep at 4AM in the morning. The CK and files now load up just right and I can save the plugin; though the CK keeps crashing on exit after saving; no idea why it keeps doing that, but oh well. Thanks for the help everyone!
  10. I'm following the instructions given in the guide to open up Live Another Life in the CK-- all plugins have been cleaned with TES5Edit. I selected Skyrim.esm, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, Hearthfires.esm and Dragonborn.esm, and lastly the Alternate Start plugin, setting it as the active file. Loading the files proceeds as usual, then at some point loading Hearthfires (around 80% loaded) it pops up with this error message: Assert File: C:\_Skyrim\Code\TESV\TES Shared\misc\BGSLocalizedString.cpp Line:2871 LOCALIZATION: Error opening or reading strings file. There is an option to Abort/Retry/Ignore. I click "Ignore" at this point (have also tried "Retry", with the same results), and it gives me the following message: MASTERFILE: LOCALIZATION: Zero entries or empty block size read from strings file STRINGS/Dragonborn_ENGLISH.STRINGS. Strings will be missing. Yes to all will disable all Warnings for this context. I hit "Yes to all" and the CK promptly crashes. I've verified my cache twice, redownloaded Dragonborn.esm, and still the problem persists. Help! What am I getting wrong?
  11. @Aiyen: There's a performance setting on my laptop, yes: however my laptop's power use profile is set to High Performance by default, since it's plugged in all the time. I'm not sure if this card has GDDR5 RAM however: I think at most it's GDDR3, since I got the laptop sometime in August 2011. @statmonster: iShadowMapResolutionPrimary and iShadowMapResolutionSecondary was already reduced to 1024-- no help there either. Basically I went from Ultra settings to High settings with skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini on the testing profile in MO, and there wasn't anything much of a performance increase.
  12. It's just me, or there isn't any installer in "Consistent Older People 15 All NPCs" file?Did you get the BAIN package? You should see the list of files to choose if you did. Meanwhile I've DDSOpted the Bethesda vanilla and hi res textures with constraints set to 1024x1024 and did a short test with just the textures, SKSE and no mods; no improvement in nearly everywhere I tested (cart ride, through Helgen and up till Riverwood meeting with Alvor). I don't think that FPS numbers of 15 and below are normal at High/Ultra settings with my rig, are they? I don't know if I'm doing something wrong now.
  13. I'm using SRO 1024k already, and 1024k on all the foundation mods where I can (Skyrim HD2K Lite, Serious HD 1024). I've optimised the Bethesda texture packs according to the guide-- should I use the HRDLC Optimized instead of those? I didn't think of DDSopting the AV packages, but I'll probably do that at some point. Just to be sure-- are normal maps the DDS files that end with *_n.dds?
  14. Added cleaning note for dungeons. As far as the 2nd, I use the "with homes" version... because I don't use any home modifying mods.Eh, I get it. But the purpose of the patch is to resolve conflicts between RLO and Alternate Start, yes? In which case I'm assuming that where conflict exists for something like the imagespace (XCIM) values, we would want RLO's values to take precedence; considering that that particular record is the same as RLO and Skyrim.esm in all particulars except the Fog Far and Fog Near values, which should probably be left alone, would using RLO's changes to the XCIM value as an override in the patch ESP be safe enough to do?
  15. My system IIRC is almost the same as torminator's laptop setup (he's one of the testers around here)-- we own the same model of laptop, the Dell XPS L502x; except my graphics card (Nvidia GT540 M GS) is weaker than his and my CPU (i7 2670 QM @ 2.2GHz) is around the same or better, I think. I've been running performance versions of Core STEP (with FPS still remaining miserably low though quite playable for me), but I do want to try out SR, if only because I'm already using many of the gameplay/items and quite a lot of the texture mods it has listed. *sigh* To that end I've been grabbing 1024 res textures where available and avoiding anything above 2048.
  16. I did what DanielCoffey did with his install too-- except with the 1024 textures option. I'm starting to think my system isn't quite enough to cope with everything on Ultra at this rate.
  17. @Neovalen: Slowly working and installing my way through the guide. I notice that there's no reminder under the Realistic Lighting Overhaul guide to clean Dungeons.esp for RLO 4.0.7c; since BOSS warns it's dirty (18 ITMs) I guess that should be added at some point, in keeping with warnings about other dirty mods in the guide. Also, this record in RLO Major Cities Interiors.esp shows up as conflicted: Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.esp \ Cell \ Block 2 \ Sub-Block 2 \ 00016776 . Could you (or someone else) check if this applies to the main version with player homes in the guide, please? I'm afraid mine is the "no player homes" version, so some things might be different, e.g. the final edit [for Proudspire Manor] listed in the guide for the AS-RLO patch doesn't exist in the "no homes" version of the plugin. The conflicts happen as expected in the Fog Far and Fog Near values, but also in the XCIM row: RLO has 74InteriorTemplate while Alternate Start shows identical to master value from Skyrim.esm. Would I need to copy the RLO values for that as an override in the patch plugin as well? Thanks!
  18. I'm also using the ESM version, albeit it's the no homes version because I have house mods in: do you use BOSS's order, or set up an override for SPO's ESM(s) to load before the Apachii ones?
  19. For Skyrim Project Optimization-- which would be preferable for Skyrim Revisited install, the ESM or ESP versions?
  20. If you're that curious, Google search cached the original ban post on Nexus that Dark0ne made. Takes a bit of doing, but you can see it in its entirety.
  21. I've been using Filled Pots on top of most of the mods from STEP/SR (left out a lot of the texture and body replacer stuff); so far so good.
  22. Thanks Aiyen. I'm just wondering how does one know which of the Pure Waters textures is the right one to rename/replace the WATER texture with? Open it up in NifSkope? I'm assuming that purewatercalm.dds is for lakes, while purewaterdefault.dds would be for any body of water that's moving? But then what would purewaterstorm.dds be replacing? Fast moving water? *is muddled* Any help is appreciated.
  23. I'd note here that Interesting NPCs has seen TES5Snip use. That makes it a non-starter for me, personally, when adding to my mod list: a real pity since it IS a fantastic mod otherwise.
  24. I've got everything except Dragonborn, which means I need to use any and all instructions up until Hearthfires, yes? At least that's how I've been working my way through the various patch instructions. On a related aspect: I'm currently trying to create the Realistic Room Rental patch for Realistic Lighting Overhaul. I've followed the instructions given up until this point: It's not explicitly stated which ESP I'm supposed to expand the "Cell" in. So working on the assumption that you meant to expand and copy from RealisticRoomRental.esp, I used that and followed the instructions up to the point where the RRR-RLO Patch.esp is first created. Currently every time I try to create the patch, TES5Edit tells me that "FormID [06040E50] references a master which is not available in file [09] RRR-RLO Patch.esp". However if I choose to continue with the application after this error appears, the ESP is created and I can then copy over the column from RRR into the patch. Is this correct and expected behaviour? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance for the clarification.
  25. Hi. Just want to confirm whether I can safely leave out any instructions in the Skyrim Revisited guide regarding general patch creation, and other compatibility related patches pertaining to Dragonborn if I haven't got that DLC. I should be able to, right? Thanks!
