I'm having a specific missing texture on greatswords only (I believe it's the sheaths): no idea where it's from. I only ran the vanilla and HDDLC textures through DDSOpt and nothing else that I've put into my game setup, haven't even gotten around to applying the fixes after optimisation just yet, so I don't know what's causing it. Any help pinning it down would be appreciated, thanks! I'm using all mods under STEP section 2I except Nightingale Prime, not Really HD Mask of Clavicus Vile, and Shield of Ysgramor. Additional weapon mods would be Heavy Armory. I'm also using the aMidianBorn Textures For Immersive Armors and Lore-Friendly Armor Pack. other than those, I can't think of anything else that might result in this particular texture going missing.

So I've needed to make a merged patch recently, and loaded up my full active load order into TES5Edit. I have Daedric Armor and weapon Improvement installed as part of the STEP portion of my install (it's installed right after Book of Silence on the STEP list), and loading it into TES5Edit gave me a long list of errors found. My question now is whether or not the mod is safe to use? In any case, I'm going to remove this and another mod (not part of STEP) with similar out of order subrecords issues from my load order for now. D'oh! *facepalms at own derpness* I had the ESP active in the saves I have thus far though-- will that be a problem now? Also, any other mod with out of order subrecords like this is probably best avoided, true?

Looking at the Distant Detail HF edition Nexus page comments, it seems that TES5Edit may be reporting some ITM false positives for this mod: might want to hold off cleaning it for now. Probably need to pop over to the Bethsoft forums and ask in the TES5Edit threads. BirdsHF clean seems to have a LOT of wild edit issues that the modder is going to have to fix themselves, or someone handy with the CK to do it; xEdit can't handle those. Dang. Didn't know it was that bad. Looks like I'm going to reboot my test games and see if not using BirdsHF clean might clear some issues that keep cropping up...

Note that the author also says there's some incompatibility with Improved Combat Sounds too.

Your solution may or may not work: Even after I changed all files's ownership to my user account, the issue might still persist-- haven't been able to properly check since I can't seem to get NXM links from external browser working for the past two days since the Nexus updated their site, but before that MO was still throwing errors with its log files whenever getting mods from Nexus, without MO already up and running.

Uhm, actually this is a non-issue and there's nothing at all to resolve (unless you botched installing SKSE): MO isn't looking for any SKSE files and can't actually manage SKSE or *SE plugins, due to the way MO's data virtualization works. To quote the author: "...you cannot install *se plugins in MO because *SE loads its plugin before MO even gets activated to create the virtual data-directory" and "Due to the way MO works the installer can't see SKSE. If the installer allows you to continue despite the error (SkyUI does), do that and the mod will work. If the installer doesn't you have to use a different installation mechanism (i.e. a manual installer)." In a bit more detail: SkyUI's installer is scripted to look for a working SKSE setup upon installation. However since MO doesn't allow any mod to go looking around in any other mods' folders and thus keeps the external installer unaware of the contents of any other folder, SkyUI's installer gets grumpy because it can't detect SKSE, which of course is in the actual \data folder. If you simply continued with the installation process, as detailed above, everything in the SkyUI archive would be installed correctly anyway, and MO can run it as usual. Actually the part where most people start having problems is they're not seeing the "continue anyway" popup; for some reason it starts minimised on the taskbar: most people don't expect it to happen that way, so there's been lots of panic on the Nexus thread that "SkyUI installation isn't working!" There's a video tutorial up now on how and what to expect when installing SkyUI and similar mods using MO available through the Nexus which explains in even more detail, but yeah, this is basically why.

julsnice, please submit a bug report to MO's issue tracker, or comment in the Nexus thread-- I've been having a similar issue and Tannin42 is looking into it, so any additional data is welcome.

I think the conflicts with Enhanced Blood Textures might be between the main edition and the Dawnguard version, and also with Brawl Bugs CE? At least that's what MO reports for me in the conflicted files view.

Hi all. Need your help with my new install re: the problem in the picture below. EDIT: Figured out why the textures were missing. Color me blind and absolutely stupid for not RTFM-ing as throughly as I should have and trusting that the FOMOD installer would work as I thought it was supposed to. The problem arose as I was trying to use the alternate impact type for flame spells, which requires "Two Fires.esp". What isn't mentioned in the FOMOD installer setup is that you need to further rename several texture files and shift things around so it works properly. Like a fool I admit to simply downloading and trusting to the FOMOD installer and MO to handle things; as expected the textures were missing because the game couldn't find where they were supposed to be. Have used the instructions on the mod's Nexus page and all's well now. D'oh!
