Can't even run Vanilla anymore...
Luinithil replied to Phyrre56's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If worst comes down to worst, there's also a recently released set of INI tweaks from Hexaae called "Vanilla at its best" that do improve lighting and color in game without needing an ENB-- just grab his gamma and RGB values; tweak shadows to your own satisfaction. -

Very long loading times and occasional freezes with ENB on, yes, but no actual crashes recently except for when I had the wrong INI settings and left the ENB files in the Skyrim folder... -

Might be an ENB config that's too demanding on your system resources, particularly since I see it's a StackHash error. BTW, when dealing with crash messages, search for the crashing module's name, usually brings up something. Try disabling everything apart from color correction and shadows, maybe bloom if desired. Did Skyrim detect your graphics driver properly? On an Nvidia based system with Optimus it's possibly a good idea to use the Injector version instead of the wrapper since Optimus hates d3d9.dll and will cause Skyrim to try to run on your integrated graphics instead of the dedicated graphics card. -
Just an observation: Was running a nearly full SR install plus extras, using the lowest res options provide by the mod author. My graphics card was running at nearly full capacity but never quite managed to stay at 100% use. This was with Aero on and Windows switching desktop pics in the background. Caveat: I was running at a resolution of 1366x768 with no ENB at the time and my INIs weren't pure Ultra settings.

Back up the MO directory and associated files, including wherever MO is installing your mods to (presumably \MO\mods), plus your downloaded mod archives if you wish. Just restore/copy back everything when you're done with the format. No registry issues to contend with so you'll be good to go after.

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Luinithil replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I remember from reading the author's posts that the USKP is still missing 4 fixes that are in the ESP, but 4 fixes vs another ESP in the load order? Pretty sure I can do without the 4 fixes until the USKP rolls them in. -

Did you try with the ENB Injector version? -
Uhm, because if you don't configure WB properly it won't work at all?

If I'm using the Lite options for SMIM with half-size textures, do I still need to optimise the textures and meshes? What do I need to optimise? -

Think the modder uploaded an optional file to fix the plasticky wet rocks; did you use that? -

Yes - you have to wash Neo's car before he will let you use it! :) Or maybe it's Skyrim Revisited - Linux Edition - you will need to install a new OS to use it. Actually I think he is calling the next iteration Skyrim Revisited - Legendary Edition in honor of Bethesda's new release. Linux Edition, LOL! Jokes aside though, installing a new Linux OS is easy and doable in a few hours. I can get a Kubuntu up and running in less than 2 hours. Wonder what Neo's progress with his reinstall is though... -
I'd be thankful for a real non-ENB solution to bad colors and worse shadows; my game doesn't do well with it on. That said, has anyone here actually tried these tweaks yet? The sample pictures are amazingly beautiful; so much so I can hardly believe there isn't an ENB being used. Note that the included Skyrim.ini has a lot of what look to be CPU related tweaks: do those actually work? Think someone who is familiar with INI settings should weigh in. Grabbed some preliminary screenshots-- all pics are taken with no other textures but the HD DLC textures installed, setting is the camping start site in Live Another Life: Tweaks with CoT Tweaks without CoT Vanilla I've used the INIs as is except in the case of Skyrim.ini due to differing tweaks. Will grab and up some screenshots with the vanilla Ultra settings later. If someone can tell me how to post proper comparisons, I'd be grateful.

Doubt Aero has THAT much of a performance hit. Better luck reducing textures and normals. Or dropping your resolution and using fewer texture mods.

mokuro, I'd advise downgrading back to MO 0.12.9, which is the stable version: the beta has a LOT of bugs in it and I wouldn't use it for serious game play/management.

Editing the Bashed Patch in TES5Edit
Luinithil replied to Luinithil's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well I know the modder who made the plugin, so I patched it to carry WAF-R values which then was merged into the bashed patch, so problem is fixed for myself and everybody else using that mod and WAF-R. Thanks for the excellent suggestion Vond. -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Luinithil replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
Hm. Is skylighting one of the newer features? I'm on an ENB that uses v. 0.113 and I don't see that option. -

Possibly stupid question but where does one turn off skylighting? I'm assuming it's the option under [sKY]? -
is there a chat or something like that ?
Luinithil replied to schrecksekunde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
An IRC channel would be a good venue, I guess; the UESPwiki folks have one or two of them. Except for the threat of channel invasions and trolls, a channel can be a good place to ask questions. The drawback is that it's not very newbie-friendly in terms of operation; anyone used to MSN style IMs will likely get hit with culture shock. -

Thanks for the rec. I see it uses 0.166-- how big is the difference, if any between 0.166 and 0.168? Because I'd have to use 0.168, 0.166 isn't available at the ENB website for some reason. -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Luinithil replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
I"m using 0.113 since that's the version required for RealLike; wonder if that could be an issue? I'd use 0.168 with it except that the results aren't good, judging from user comments. What other ENBs could I look at that are really lightweight? I only really need the color correction and shadow fixes, everything else is secondary. The other thing I didn't like about RealVision ENB was that there seemed to be a hazy quality about everything indoors. -
Well since the same files are already contained in BoS, I'm not surprised those two mods get shown as redundant. If you have the latest BoS, you can get rid of them.

I assume it's because the number of keywords must match the COCT value or presumably bad things happen. -
ENB Recommendations and Framerate Suggestions
Luinithil replied to phazer11's question in Post-Processing Support
Currently running at 1366x768. Bit smoother than 1600x900, but not by much. Sadly one can't get rid of Optimus. I tried the injector version with a fairly lightweight ENB (RealLike ENB) with everything except shadows off; the results FPS-wise weren't bad-- less of a hit than with RealVision ENB, though the colours were strangely desaturated, which wasn't supposed to happen. Might it be the lack of bloom? Unfortunately the freezes/CTDs outside Riverwood happened again, and kept happening with any ENB enabled, along with HUGE spikes in memory usage and pagefile that did not automatically clear themselves resulting in what looks to be the ~3.1GB RAM limit crash within 5 minutes of loading up the game. Whereas if no ENB or related files are present at all the game runs okay, with 13-27 FPS in all areas and combats I've been in so far (Falkreath woods, interiors and Riverwood exteriors on the main road through town, road up to Bleak Falls Barrow,), playtime about 30-60 minutes. I can only surmise something about the ENB use is causing the RAM use to mount without naturally clearing on its own; never seen Skyrim go up to 21111xxx K memory used in Task Manager until now. -

Was already playing at 1600x900-- maybe I'll drop to where torminater has his at. Meanwhile I read in the comments that Nvidia Optimus doesn't like d3d9.dll, and the injector version of ENB is recommended for those machines with it. Wondering if it works with ENB Manager?
