If you disabled the optimized folders and its still a problem, then you most likely have a mod installed that provides textures for it. Try to look though any weapon replacer mods you have installed like Cabal´s or any arrow and bow mods. If you want to make sure that the optimized textures are good, try to move them down to the bottom of your mod list, and then try again. This way all your textures will be your optimized vanilla ones! And they should all work as intended! Remember that you can always replace textures on a save, so you do not need to make a new one every time etc.

Hey there egocarib and welcoem to this little corner of the web. :) I am still trying to decide if I want to try to use this mod or not... part of it has me really interested, but another part just think that the sheer amount of scripts is too much for my poor mod list :( And sadly with a mod of this type then even if initial testing says all clear, then enchantments do not really start to play a vital role until later in the game, where the game starts to get a bit more stressed out. Will have to try to console level myself to 30 again and try to play around a bit in the world and force some high level enemies to spawn etc. Also I find it a bit funny that you recommend Stealth skills Rebalanced (Which I also do) Yet you do not have a patch for the few conflicts there are :P They seem kinda minor, and I decided to just let its entries overwrite yours, since I like the changes that it does to the few enchantments that are stealth related. But that said it would be nice with "official" support. :)

Skyrim Realistic Overhaul (SRO) include install instructions at least?
Aiyen replied to DICEROLL's question in Wiki Support
Nope that is about all there is too it. And yes you would want the update to be after the original obviously in MO. :) The dawnguard textures will not overwrite any of the skyrim ones since they are in a new folder called dlc1. Hope that helps. -
Think it is mainly because people do not notice it at all... since flowers do respawn... eventually. Would be interesting to hear what the unofficial patch team had to say about it though. But regardless I do not think I am going to use it since.... I do not have an issue with the way flora operates atm. Also had a mod for oblivion that actually reduced the respawn rate of flora to like a month or so... since I got tired of how easy it was to go harvest half the forest, and get alchemy 100 in 2 days.

STEP guide: HRDLC + ddsopt, is it really neseccary?
Aiyen replied to DICEROLL's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Depends on how complex a mod list you have in mind for your playthough. If you just want STEP:Core... then you strictly speaking do not need to do it out of memory concerns when you have a 2Gb card. there are going to be some textures that look odd, and have errors in them.. but most of those are going to be covered over by other mods anyways. If you are going for a more complex list, then every bit counts.... the less memory you waste the more stable your game ultimately becomes, since you reduce data load which it all seems to come down to in the end. And the DDSopt is not so complex once you have done it once. You can start with a smaller mod then the HDDLC, since they do take quite a while. -
ACCEPTED Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM (by Brumbek)
Aiyen replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Actually if you look at certain meshes then they are really high quality, and then some are just... well you know. It all comes down to how much time you can spend on something like this when you have to make thousands of meshes. Doing meshes from the ground up takes time... even when you are a professional, and you have dedicated tools to help ya out. Also I am sure they have spent a certain amount of time sorting out the max amount of polygons on average so that it fits with stability and performance of the engine. -
Well it seems like Boris has found a way... luckely. So I will remove this from sticky again since it is not largely relevant... at least people are reporting that its working again.

Ah fair enough I have misunderstood that part then! My bad! :) In that case then I entirely agree with you! And as I recall from way back then I did not get any FPS increase from using his suggested values. They first start to happen when you get up to 100 or above. Which is also why I have always suggested that people start at that value and not the ones he recommends if they want more FPS. However if I where to use the same values with your settings then the grass got a bit too sparse due to their small size, hence why I use the mod at all. But yeah his non goldilock version has silly large plants... I think the goldilock hits that golden spot of size vs. coverage really nicely.

Installing mods with MO, merge, replace or rename?
Aiyen replied to DICEROLL's question in Mod Organizer Support
My pleasure. Marking as solved. -
No pink in the vanilla versions of those textures, or the replacers I have installed. So most likely a bad optimization or such.

Vurt: (I will let the crude remark slip for now!) The only thing I am objecting is that you say that the FPS boost is a placebo effect. Which I have just shown you is clearly not the case! Also showing you that whatever test you did is clearly wrong somehow. The only difference between those two shots is the IminGrassSize. One has LOADS of grass one has less. Hence why I say Less grass = more FPS since that is what I see. (Has nothing what so ever to do with what the CK values are... only what is visible ingame! Along with the FPS!) I am sure that this largely comes from having shadows on grass enabled! Since logically more shadow calculations will affect the FPS. As for the artistic/realism part of it. Then I personally use the "goldilock" version of GoS. Yes some plants are larger then what they would/should be to look really nice... but mostly then I am happy with how the game looks vs. how much FPS I get from doing it. Also again. I am not trying to start a fight! I am just showing you that there is an FPS gain from having less grass. Just like if you reduce the draw distance of the grass... then you also get more FPS.
-
Okay... pictures then :) This is not placebo... its quite logical. Less grass = more FPS. With iMinGrassSize=20 With iMinGrassSize=120 I could get more if I increase higher. This is what I mean with its not a placebo effect. It might be around 75 or so, but the higher you go the less grass... the more FPS!Â

For how to find and fix texture issues then check out my guide on the matter. It is right next to this thread. a .dds should not like like a _n.dds unless it is a sort of mushroom trip sort of texture. You kinda need to say which particular files you are talking about so people can cross reference with their own textures. I know of a few textures that do contain pink as a color so they are there.
-
Vurt it makes no sense to try to say that there is no FPS boost.... Its a simple fact that the less grass you render, the more FPS you would logically get. Even more so if you have shadows in grass on as well. We can discuss at what value you start to see an increase etc. But when you go up really high there is hardly any grass left at all, and the FPS increases by quite a bit.... kinda the same as if you lower the draw distance for grass to 0. Then you would also see an FPS boost.

Installing mods with MO, merge, replace or rename?
Aiyen replied to DICEROLL's question in Mod Organizer Support
Merge copies in the files but leave the ones already there intact. Unless they have the same name, in which case they are overwritten. Replace removes the entire mod and installs the content you currently picked. This should not be used for updates etc. since it will then most likely remove other stuff as well. Rename.... kinda self explanatory I would think. :) You can use rename if you want more control over individual updates etc. but it quickly clutters up your mod list. But that is personal preference. -
Oh well guess I will have to wait around.. or update it myself. Yet another thing on my skyrim todo list. Yes more grass can look nice, but I personally find it annoying to have too much of it, and I already am running near 20-30 FPS so I cant give up the FPS boost I get from GoS atm.

Stressed out trying to understand system specs and STEP mods
Aiyen replied to Dweedle's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Do not go above 1k (1024x1024) resolution on texture replacers, and you should be fine for STEP core with decent playable performance! edit: Mainly you do not have enough RAM on your video card to use much more then that. It does not affect performance as much, but it will help keep the game behave. -
Marked as solved.

Moved to appropriate forum! :) More light. If it is from light sources then in the enbseries.ini under pointlightingintensity. (Under Environment) If it is general lighting then AmbientlightingIntensity Ofc. its the interior values. Remember that day and night values blend almost at all times of the day for interiors. So a good practice is to keep the two identical so you do not get very different values depending on time of day. You can do all this ingame from the ingame GUI. (Shift + Enter by default)

The "Incompatible with RLO" is just a notice BOSS brings.. since many people just do not get it the five other places it says so around both mods. (A bit exaggerated but the point is clear) It does this for a few other mods as well. Its just good mentions to have! Purple Textures means that you have textures that failed to install for whatever reason, or you performed some changes too them and they did not save properly during that process. You can look at my guide on how to identify them, it is there among the stickies. As for why you CTD all the time.... well like oh so many other before you with SkyRE installs, then the cause is fairly simple.... you got too many mods that add new stuff to the game. Check out some of the SkyRe guides here on the forums that are confirmed to be working (at least most of the time anyways!). Full and fancy skyre installs with more content is a time consuming process and there is no easy "remove that mod and voila" approach to it sadly.

BOSS: New Import Stats Tags since today's Masterlist update?
Aiyen replied to Nearox's question in General Skyrim LE Support
The unofficial patches only alter vanilla stuff. Hence there is nothing "unique" to the entries carried within. Hence if you pull over those records the required master is still the vanilla .esm´s. If you look at the what the bashed patch actually contains, then you will notice that it tries to get as many entries to the leveled lists with as possible depending on your load order. Which is why sometimes stuff can actually never be seen in the game since the bashed patch removes it from the lists. But you can still add the item ingame using the console since the item still has a formID etc. -
Not much to learn for this purpose. It is really as simple as start the program. Press enter! If it reached "finished" then it is not a missing master, otherwise it will produce an error in mid run telling you which mod has a master that is not present.
-
Run Tes5edit on all your activated .esp´s and/or WB to look for missing masters. It is almost always the case with startup CTD´s.

Due to an AMD update in preparation for their next line of cards, they have done something to how they compile various shaders. (I am not going to pretend that I know the technical aspects. ) The result is that certain AMD cards will not be able to run with ENB v.228+ and the new water shaders that Boris has put in. (At this time I do not know if it is up to a certain card model, or a certain driver version! I will update as I find out! ) Due to this Boris has said he discontinues support for AMD cards, since he cba. to deal with their odd ways of updating their software. If this changes in the future is as always hard to tell. But if your game CTD at startup after you installed this version of ENB and you use AMD card´s then this is the reason why. I will keep this thread as sticky for as long as it is required, and update on any progress as I find out. Update: v.229 is out, which is an attempt at making it work at the expense of performance for everything else. Initital testing by some still CTD at startup. Update: Seems like there is hope at the end of the tunnel and there is a solution after all! The next few days will show, and then its parallax water for all! Â

[split] Why do increased spawns cause crashes?
Aiyen replied to youtoo's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I recall having more issues with memory before patch 1.9. In fact I had a particular one outside of whiterun with the giant that went away with the only change being the difference between 1.9 and 1.8. Then again I have never been overly bothered by the lip sync bug, and I could care less for open cities. I would not even be bothered if each hold was its own separate world space, if that would improve the amount of stuff that could be put into each without issues. Atm then horrible LOD´s is more a concern then anything imo. Sadly that cant be improved much due to the before mentioned threading and data loading issues.
