  1. Yes well I think the nexus will do that to you when you try to support your work for long enough, even more so when it is remotely technical, and people have too high expectations to their own hardware. But feel free to come back and ask and we will see what we can do.
  2. Sennheiser PC350 here.... You pay quite a bit, but get quality. Mainly got them because I wanted a pair with a microphone that was not loose, or could be removed etc. Then again it depends on the money you want to throw after it.... for the price I am happy since they are now running on 4 years I think, and show no sign of getting worse.
  3. Kinda again one of those convenience mods... where you get a script to do the following Press t and input x amount of hours. I can see its uses for some high realism builds, but not something I would use "script space" on. (yes I just made up that term) And the whole idea of using it against vampires is just hilarious... I could see my self doing that just for fun... Vampire attack... read book and wait for day time... when the book is indeed mightier then the sword!
  4. Yeah... kinda amazed how complicated you can make a process so simple sound lol! Solution one kinda sums it all up. Why it would even be a problem to begin with is beyond me... all textures etc. are in the mods folder.. you can use all these programs directly on those. Guess there just are some people that think everything need to be run though MO when it does not.
  5. It looks ugly because you have not activated supersampling and AA for it :P Also most presets do not bother setting it up so it looks decent, since well... nobody really use it for playing. Then it will kill your performance!
  6. Guess we should update the "performance tips" part of the guide. Or just make a dedicated thread (No I know absolutely nothing about doing any wiki editing! :p ) In short for more FPS. Disable skylighting... most of the time you are not going too miss it. Reduce the following two parameters in both SSAO, and Reflection. This has to be done before starting the game in notepad etc. in the enbseries.ini. SizeScale and SourceTexturesScale try setting them to 0.5 in all cases. DoF... most of the ones you get are set to screenarchery quality, which kills even the best of systems. Either use a performance version or just disable it. That should take care of most of the issues with performance. Ofc. you can also set the ingame quality parameters to low, hit save, then apply. You are not going to notice the visual difference unless you really go looking for it.
  7. ENB rain changes ALL rain textures into the one used by ENB. It cost performance galore, and depends highly on the texture used and the settings applied. Mainly the performance cost make it not really worth it unless you have a beast like machine.
  8. EssArrBee.... only up to the above limit of 1024 which is what he has. It cannot go higher then that regardless. Also he said he was playing with 1k textures only... as I recall... hence he should not even be stressing the card while doing that. As I recall then heavy outdoor area with only 1k both diffuse and normal is about 700-850Mb tops on average... If normals are put down further then well half that amount give or take. But like I said it was only a starting point... tweaking is required to make it work for your own system. Some people find it works better for them, some do not.
  9. Use the mod ... there the author spent more time on doing it then just applying an automated script etc.
  10. ENBoost does not affect framerates to a noticeable degree... if it does then it is because you had the graphical parts of it enabled as well. But the micro stutter is normally due to either mouse settings, or memory swapping. SLI and Crossfire is the name for when you have multiple cards that work in unison to render the image on the screen. I would recommend that you try ENBoost again but make sure that UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true applies or it will enable the graphical parts which kill your frame rates. For your setup then the following should work. Assuming that you have a 64bit Windows installed. Otherwise then that would be the cause. [MEMORY] ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true DisableDriverMemoryManager=false DisablePreloadToVRAM=false EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 VideoMemorySizeMb=1024 EnableCompression=true Just try to replace the above with the setting you have in enblocal.ini. The values might need further tweaking but that should be the starting point.
  11. Monty: Sadly STEP builds do not really cause ILS since they do not add enough stuff to the game :P Yet it is an interresting idea, and the most reproduceable ILS is the one from Solstheim to Skyrim. Guess if someone want to try that out and have the spare time then it would be a place to start.
  12. Good to know that onetweak was the cause. Will mark as solved! And keep it in mind. Makes sense when ya think about it hehe.
  13. There is no special stuff with dragon absorb. Only if you use deadly dragons and/or dragons diversifed etc. then there can be issues with some of the custom ones not providing a soul. But all the generic ones should.
  14. It is going to be included when he updates next time anyways. Always keep in mind to actually read the description pages of mods, and look at the optional downloads and make sure you got what you need for your list! :) The guides are always going to behind :)
  15. Okay ENB basics. ENB consists of a .dll file and an enbhost.exe file, and a load of .fx files and .ini files. The content of these .fx and .ini files determine what you see ingame. This is what is called presets, you can find a million of those on the nexus. ENBoost is part of ENB as long as the preset is for after v.200. So there is no need to go to the ENBoost page if you want to use ENB. Since it is already included. You do have to still set it up manually, since every enblocal.ini is unique to your system. ENB can kneel even the best of computers, but what many people do not get is that performance is not set in stone for a preset. If you find one where you like the colors and mood, you can make it work for your system with a few tweaks... most of which can be done from ingame. Also if you want to try a new ENB preset just replace all files in the skyrim dir, and start the game again. It is not save dependent, and you can alter it at will. Most of the settings can be altered from ingame using shift + enter. Consult the wiki for what the stuff does or just experiment. If you alter stuff like quality parameters, etc. you have to press save, and then apply for it to take effect, since the shaders have to restart. Hope that helps.
  16. 1st: make sure you read the STEP wiki on ENB it covers all the basics for install etc. 2nd. Just get the newest version v.229 atm. The wiki should also cover how you put in the correct values into your enblocal.ini file as I recall.
  17. All the info about the dragon soul issue is on the unofficial patch pages comment sticky. Its a common issue.
  18. Yeah the guy is blooming! (Could not resist!) Some of the changes sound really interesting, and I really do look forward to what he decides on! Now that I have the tree and LOD textures made so that they fit my setup, then its just a matter of waiting! :)
  19. ENBoost does to what it claim. With reservations of course. You need to actually have a decent gfx card (2gb or more) to really get any benefit from it. It does not help with script stability etc. it only allows more textures to be used roughly speaking. Dragon souls all comes down to one script that needs to be dragonborn compatible. Make sure this script loads after the unofficial patches and you it should work again. As for all the rest... sounds like you put more work into that then I ever have so cant help there. In general I do not touch follower mods, since I do not really want to use any that are not already in the game.
  20. Do you have anything else affecting tint mask etc. Since I think the problem is related to those. Any tattoo mods etc.
  21. If you manually place the .dll etc in your skyrim dir, there should be nothing whatsoever about the driver version you are using that conflicts.... I still use that since well it works for ENB flawlessly. Try to remove that silly ENB manager, there have been people having issues with it for god knows what reason. Also like William says, remove any other weird background running stuff like FRAPS, Virtu MVP, boosters and what have you... all of those are pointless to use alongside ENB since they are not designed for it. It also makes no sense why MO would in any way interfere since it does not touch any of the same resources. Try to go back to a previous version of MO to see if it is version dependent. I still use version 1.02 and there it works. I prefer to keep a few updates behind with MO...
  22. hehe... you could also just use mine... that way you always have the newest :P
  23. Kinda amusing how you say "increased loading times"... I have almost 21Gb worth of loose files at the very least... the game only EVER takes a bit to load on the first startup... which is still less then 30 sec. And no I do not have an SSD. So any performance related reasoning for unpacking or not doing so is kinda pointless as I see it. Unless you try to run the game on a relic of a computer it is never ever going to be noticeable. And if there is a noticeable difference then in the end it goes back to other issues with your mod list anyways. And afaik then nobody on this forum have ever produced any tangible evidence that there is a noticeable gain... the few I recall had so small differences that the uncertainty in the measurement was so large as to make it pointless. That said one reason to unpack them is if you need separate resources which is required if you are doing texture troubleshooting. If you have the files in archives you cannot move them down below all other texture replacers and have to disable them all manually... which is a chore. Compared to having the official files as loose and just move 1-3 mod folders to the bottom of your list and test. Another is as it has already been mentioned if you want the ability to remove one texture from one mod but keep it in another. Yes there are cases where ordering cannot just solve this.
  24. Partly true. The ones in MO´s profiles are taken from the original ones the first time around and every time you make a new profile. So if you made the edits before you installed MO then they will still apply. Unless that changed over the last many versions... I have not done the process since january.
