  1. Thanks for considering this for STEP, it very much appreciated and is considered a real accolade in the Skyrim modding community . Sorry for not being around the community much, for the past load of months but I've been dealing with personal problems in the real world which has taken up a lot of my thoughts and time but I'm nearly out the woods and I looking forward to finish more of my uncompleted work for release in Skyrim (I'm considering waiting for the special edition version though, unless popular demand suggests otherwise ) and FO4 and hopefully spent more time in the forum. Thanks very much.
  2. Mod Source: Steam by ramccoid This retextures the steam effects found in the volcanic regions and Dwemer ruins of Skyrim it also now effects the Dwemer robots.. It also retextures the churning water effects which appear beneath the billowing steam in the volcanic regions. I have redirected the textures in the meshes to use their own textures added by me, to make them compatible with water mods and to not interfere with any other meshes which use the same textures to achieve a different effect, as Bethesda likes to do a lot with the smoke textures. Which means, the new steam and churning water textures will only change these effects and nothing more. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  3. Mod Source: Stars by ramccoid This mod retextures the stars and the galaxy nebula seen in the night skies of Skyrim. I was never satisfied with the look of the night sky so I decided to have a go at changing it to something a bit more pleasing to view and give a reason to actually look up and examine the sky a bit more. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  4. Mod Source: Spray by ramccoid This retextures the spray effect when waves hit the shore and adds foam to the wave water. Dragon Born DLC is required, I don't know if it is needed when using W.A.T.E.R. or Realistic Water 2. I didn't like the vanilla effect of the water spray, I personally think it looks unreal and tacky and totally out of place compared to the surrounding environment. So I went about seeing if I could make them look more natural and this is the result I came up with. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  5. Mod Source: Soul by ramccoid This retextures the effect which is displayed when you absorb a soul of a dragon. I've made the effect more colourful and with more soul streaks to make a change from the default one which isn't too bad anyway. Try this one if you just fancy seeing it in a different and more colourful way. Recommended to be used with the brilliant DSAMG - Dragon Soul Absorb More Glorious for a better effect. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  6. Mod Source: Rain by ramccoid his mod retextures the rain effect that appears during bad weather in Skyrim. It also adds a version with a ESP to give the 3 rain types their own textures. Heavy, medium and light rain. If using a weather mod load the ESP below it. I have tried to make the rain look less like the vanilla lines which they called rain. I have made them appear to be reactive with the environment by making them seem like they are reflecting light which they are not because they are a texture and shader effect and there are no meshes or normal maps involved. This is the best I can do because I do not know how to manipulate shaders. So I hope you enjoy the effect. Vanilla sizes for this effect are 512x128. This mod is available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  7. Mod Source: Oil by ramccoid I found the oil trap puddles to look bland and uninteresting, in fact quite a eye sore when using environmental retextures. I've introduced a new more oil looking moving swirl and I've made 3 types of replacers but you can only use one at a time.Vanilla colours with new swirl - this uses similar colours to vanilla with a new swirl effect.Vanilla colours and swirl - this uses similar colours to vanilla but keeps the default swirl effect.Oily water effect - this gives the rainbow colours effect to the oil as if it is floating upon water.Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  8. Mod Source: Mist by Ramccoid This replaces the textures of the ambient mist which I thought gave the impression of being a bit too sharp edged and almost solid, in the game, in certain places. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  9. Mod Source: Electrify by Ramccoid This replaces the electric effects in the game, which are mostly spells. I thought that I would just have a go at trying to make the effects look more electrifying and spectacular. I have added more textures to achieve the desired effect and also keep them from interfering with non electric effects which require and rely on the base textures. If you use the brilliant "Lightning During Thunder Storms", the lightning strike effect will be replaced by this mod because it relies on the default texture. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 sized textures.
  10. Mod Source: Dust by Ramccoid This mod retextures the falling dust effects to look more like dust instead of smoke. I have also retextured the ambient floating dust particles you see in the air to look more real instead of looking like dots. I've edited the texture paths in the falling dust meshes so they use their own textures instead of sharing them with the smoke effects which vanilla tends to use for quite a number of visual effects. Available in x256, x512, x1024 and x2048 texture sizes.

  17. Sometimes I feel so misunderstood. ;)
  18. Mod Source: HD Mist by ramccoid {Mod Author, please insert OP text} OP originally by Adonis_VII: This mod upgrades the the blocky 256 mist texture to 1k or 2k resolutions. Works with both Fallout 3 and Fallout NV. I will try to convert his other assets where possible.
  19. I decided after calming down, not totally though, that it is unfair to take my work away from the actual people who really do respect and appreciate the labours of mod authors. These decent human beings have done nothing and duly deserve the experience of my work. I would like to personally thank everyone at STEP, members and staff, very much, for being a community which didn't allow the lynch mob mentality to occur and shows the decency and respect to authors and members alike. You should all feel very proud of yourselves. All the very best to all at STEP.
  20. The droplets didn't need matching to the shape because they work of a atlas texture. It's doesn't matter what shape you use, as long as it stays within it's section of the texture which in this case is a 4x2 grid giving eight different droplets in total. This also means that the texture size being displayed is only one eighth of the actual resolution. So if you used the x2048 version, it's really just displaying at x512, the x1024 version displays at x256 and so on. The mesh then controls which section to display at a time, in this case it picks randomly a droplet from the eight to show for each time one falls. if you look carefully at the animation, you'll see fat and thin and short droplets, they are not all the same but this is to stop the whole effect from looking like continuous lines, dropping from the ceilings and gives the impression of individuality and separation to them to a certain extent. The changes to the mesh, as far as I can recall with dealing with so many, are only simple tweaking of lighting, colour and redirection of the texture to eliminate conflicts with other completely different effects which share the default texture. A common practice by Bethesda.
  21. Version 2 is not that much different from version 1 alt. It is the same texture but I improved the streak of light along the side, tidied it up and made it look more natural. Version 3, is still just a advancement on version 1 alt but after studying droplets from images for a while, I discovered that the light appears to be refracted to the bottom, in most cases, giving a opaque look to it which is what I tried to achieve, with it. EDIT: If you decide which droplet you prefer, I could always put that version's droplet texture up as a optional because they'll work with any version I'll produce. I have no intentions to alter the mesh any further because I'm totally satisfied with it and I doubt that I will do anymore work on the droplets themselves, just the other effects included in the mod.
  22. Sorry, my friend, I wasn't trying to influence your decision and thanks very much for even considering it, it's very much appreciated. It's just that, when Octopuss was on the Nexus, I always sort his valuable advice on improving my mods and that's all I'm doing now, nothing more, nothing less. I haven't made the droplets any larger, they are all exactly the same size through each version. Below is a comparison image of each version, so you can see what the differences are between each droplet but the sizes are the same. What we were talking about was a effect I first added into version 2 and developed a bit more in version 3 and Octopuss was simply giving me his honest opinion, as always, on it. I do know about over designing but I do enjoy doing this stuff and yes you're right, sometimes I do go overboard on a few versions but I get there in the end with the invaluable advice I get from the Nexus community and forums, as this one. So once again, I apologise my friend, if I was giving the wrong impression. EDIT: Sorry, yes I will put version 1 back in the optional section for you.
  23. Sorry about that, my friend, I have a bad habit of wandering off topic. I'll open a new thread for DUST as you advise. That effect in the bear cave, in Helgen is the same as what we have been discussing and the same place as that last image I posted. The droplets are a completely different effect altogether, so do you consider them better than version 1.0 alternative texture or not? I feel they are a great improvement and give a much better effect overall. I've just reduced the size of the drops in the effect and you are completely right, it is a absolute improvement, the animation looks and plays a whole lot better as well, even in the bear cave.
  24. What would you say needed to be changed to improve DUST, my friend? Because I would like to finalise this one, once and for all.
  25. No, that texture is used in things like pillars of light with mist and rain within them. This one originally used the effect from embers which fly from fires which I felt didn't fit what it was trying to achieve with white dots and even made it barely noticeable in a lot of places and as I see it, if you can't notice it then what's the point in having it in the game, using valuable processing power for no added value. Here's a image which shows what I mean about it reacting with light better.
