  1. Glad to hear that! Will probably add it and the gas pumps mod tomorrow as I tested the gas pumps merged with the other gameplay mods and it seemed to work just fine.
  2. First game I remember playing was some ski jumping game on a floppy disk on my family's home computer in the attic. After that my second era of games was with small demo versions of strategy games (in particular a Brazilian one I don't remember the name of) on my own computer which I think my dad bought a GPU for before I even understood what a GPU was. The reason I remember this was because it came with Gun Metal which got me really into mecha games, and I've played through this several times on my computer. Eventually I got an Xbox because one of my older friends had one, and I started playing the Halo series with Halo Combat Evolved. Those were truly the days when people just came over to hang out and play video games, in my opinion a far superior experience to playing together while Skyping or the like, which is still fun I guess, though I do miss the ability to just be in a room together and play. For anyone who's played the first Halo game, you probably remember the first mission where you encounter the Flood. That mission scared the crap out of me and probably was the cause of me being afraid of the dark for a really long time. My favorite mecha game on the Xbox was MechAssault II: Lone Wolf, mostly because it was one of the first games I ever played which had a Co-Op wave defense mode, and my friend and I would spend many a lazy afternoon attempting to beat old records or simply making scrap heaps out of enemy mechs. A game I first played at someone else's house was what got me back into PC gaming, namely Oblivion. While a much less alien and fantastical experience than Morrowind, which I only became aware of years later, it was still so new and exciting that it blew my mind. I played it for a really long time on my console, having traded for it with the aforementioned friend, and remember exploiting the scroll bug a lot. For anyone not familiar with it, there was a bug in Oblivion where if you dropped a numbered stack of scrolls and an item of your choosing, the item would duplicate to the number of scrolls. Eventually I discovered the modding scene and actually dabbled in modding a tiny bit, but was far too young to have any comprehension that could keep my easily distracted head in place. Better Cities is fondly remembered as perhaps my favorite mod from the era, though it frustrated me that every house for no reason suddenly had large doors in their ceilings, this being added by a incorporated mod which made paths for thieves all over the Imperial City. Funnily enough I found the realm of Cyrodill far more magical and enchanting than most describe it as, though this probably has to do with the contrast to my home country, as I found Skyrim's environment, and especially the parts inspired my ancestors, the vikings, to be more generic when that game came out. At this time I also delved headfirst into the realm of computers and built my very first PC after proudly unpacking the giant cardboard box I had begged my parents to help me order while on an especially boring trip to the mountains. Never having taken that much to my parent's sportsmanlike approach to the outdoors, games like Oblivion allowed me to satisfy that urge of exploration which I imagine I would've had to rely on the woods for in previous eras. It was also around this time I managed to acquire a copy of Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords on the Xbox, another game I remember very fondly from my past, and which has also continued to grow on me as I grew older and more fond of literature. While being called things like unfinished or buggy, what KotOR II did fantastically well was tell a story, and one that you could experience from several side. It had the enchanting and vivid universe of Bioware's original game (which I played a bit, but never finished, on loan from a friend) while adding onto it a great cast of characters and things my mind couldn't let go of until I had played through it another time to see if I could understand it then. It also helped that my sister really liked it as well, and I would spend time just watching her play, offering advice here and there and feeling like I could actually help my big sister do something, like she had helped me do so much else. Eventually Skyrim came out, and I found my way to STEP not so long after the website was launched (I remember using the PDF guide by TheCompiler before there was the Wiki version) and registering some time afterwards, eventually managing to help REGS with some testing while it was still experiencing some early life throes, though sadly I withdrew from posting for about a year after lapsing into a more serious depression that I had to seek help to combat. After that I think I wasted a lot of time playing Dota 2, though it was a fun experience as well, and I did meet some nice people I still keep in touch with today. Wish I didn't spend so many hours on it though, but that's kinda what I did for a while. Go to school, come home, feel sad and not want to think about how sad I was, then play Dota to forget about everything. Luckily I managed to break the cycle at some point, and it was my experience here, and my experience with KotOR II that led me back to the forums in order to follow SRB's F&L guide and pick up Fallout: New Vegas again after having ended my first encounter with it when I managed to get a bomb collar strapped around my virtual neck and alienate the people who could remove it (faction armor system, woo) without having a proper save to go back to. Playing it through fully, I fell in love with the game and the same writing that had made KotOR II so dear to my trashcan-poet-heart. Which in turn led me onto modding. This also did help me deal with some of my depression, and I remember sending SRB a very akward PM thanking him for the guide personally. Anyways, glad to be here and able to contribute to something today. Think I managed to squeeze in all the important parts at least.
  3. Yes, don't hide that. Didn't incorporate it now because I actually have a lot of plugin space in my list, so it seemed like unnecessary work. Wonder if I can just merge it with the shop plugin?
  4. That's a good suggestion. I've updated the pack to v0.53, incorporating the CaliberX patch in the main WotNM plugin and renaming the H&K USP to "Operator Pistol", which now uses 10mm ammunition as Salizar suggested. With how CaliberX works (using scripts to add stuff to vendorlists instead of the Bashed Patch merging every entry) you might still see .40 SW ammunition until you start a new game though. I also rebalanced the vendortron from CaliberX's store plugin, as I felt it having 1000 of each ammo type was rather silly. I kept abusing that my last playthrough at least. Very grateful for the feedback, and happy so many people have decided to add my pack to the guide. It encourages me to develop it further and push it toward a version I feel is worthy of being included in the pack.
  5. Just use ENBoost, you don't need to turn off the game's AA for that. It's in YUP as well.
  6. Exactly why I need them! I'm gonna forward all of the CaliberX patch's changes to the main plugin and I'll save you a slot while I'm at it.
  7. Does it keep happening when you level up, or just the once? Might be an issue with saving, since CASM usually saves when you level up.
  8. The DLCs look pretty good IMO. I read a lot and that influence has affected my video gaming experiences (as well as films, but that is a much more matured genre of art) so naturally I was a bit disappointed with the direction Fallout 4 was taken in compared to older titles. I wouldn't say I hate it like you, SparrowPrince, but they definitely emphasized an approach I'm not that big a fan of. In particular I was let down by the lack of meaningful dialogue and pretty much being shoe-horned into a character from the get-go. Sure there are evil factions that you can join, but if you think about you're drawn to each of them in pursuit of your son and if you decide to help them out it is mostly for a philanthropic cause. They all think they have the best solution for the Commonwealth moving forward, they're all appealing to the same side of your character, except maybe the Railroad who I found to be the most satisfactory faction simply because they don't actually pretend to be anything more than they are. Though their solution may not have been the best for the people in the region, I was drawn to them simply because they didn't demonstrate the same massive arrogance the two other factions did. Yes, I'm intentionally ignoring the Minutemen because discussing them as a faction is like discussing the value of a blank piece of paper as a work of art - it could become anything, but the game only allows you to take them to an initial point of establishment and fails completely at portraying them realistically with the drawbacks such an organization usually would have. Seems I got sidetracked... There were some good side quests though and hopefully they will have taken some of the criticism from the older fanbase to heart with Far Harbor. With Automatron it looks like they're focusing on what made the game fun while I played it and there's nothing wrong with that, because frankly I'm not so sure they can fix the parts I found disappointing with any DLCs. I bought the season pass in any case. Would be more excited for the release of the CK if I actually thought I was any good at making textures, since the FO4 weapon system is pretty exciting.
  9. Good. I need more dumb questions. Without dumb questions I forget the where I left my head.
  10. Think I fixed it. Let me know if it works. You're right. I've removed it from the guide.
  11. Awesome! I must've taken out one two many when I removed the superfluous entries. I made this rather quickly last night. If you want you can add mods under the suggestion title with a description of what they do and I'll look at them when I can.
  12. I would think so. If some of your gear disappears it should be back where you originally found it. ^^
  13. I think it's safe to assume that only the G.E.C.K. will have a problem with it then. Which isn't too much of a worry as the G.E.C.K. has issues with a lot of things. EDIT: Added it to the Advanced Recon section.
  14. Don't actually use EC, but I think the compatibility pack includes some custom animations so that might be expected. According to the file page it aims to improve the FP experience without sacrificing too much of the 3RDP experience, and I think part of it includes raising the gun in your idle stance. EDIT: Added darthbdaman's Advanced Recon Patches to the Advanced Recon section, meaning the merge is now at version two. Should also point out TechAngel85 added some acronyms for us at my request: FNV, F&L and F&LNV.
  15. You guys are the best!
  16. Could we maybe have FNV, F&L and F&LNV for us over at the Fear & Loathing subforum?
  17. If anyone can verify this works fine when merged with Advanced Recon Gear, I'm ready to add it to F&L. I looked over the merged plugin in FNVEdit and the thing I'm worried about is that the script and quest has the same EditorID as the one used in Advanced Recon Gear.esp meaning that if you add it to the current F&L merge (replacing the unnecessary files) you get two quests called AdvReconFormListUpdate looking for AdvReconFormListUpdateScript, which are separated by two different FormIDs, but will return errors in the G.E.C.K. Unsure what effect this will have on the game. Would normally check this kind of thing myself but don't have the savegame to do so at the moment.
  18. [spoiler=Spoiler]I'm referring to the Legendary Bloatfly actually. One of the toughest enemies in the game IIRC EDIT: This is the mod I was referring to. It's included in the guide and should make some enemies respawn.
  19. @Van: Trust me, I wouldn't have been able to delve nearly as far into modding as I have without the continued support and general pleasantness of you and the rest of this community. Really appreciate the kind words. I'm sorry things have been going a bit slow lately with regards to responding to nominations and the like. It's just been me who's been around for the last two weeks or so, and while I do take every suggestion into consideration, a lot of my time is spent outside of the game, either making mods or dedicated to other projects. Hence it's not really been that easy for me to actively test things, as the first things I've noticed when getting into the game has often been issues with my own mods (especially New Vegas Landscape Overhaul recently). This is why I thought maybe it would be a good idea to make some sort of makeshift to-do list (for F&L) on one of my user pages (like F&L is on one of SRB's user pages) so that everyone can see what I'm looking into and no ideas get lost in some deep mental drawer, as I so often end up having. Could this be a good idea? All I can say for now is that I intend to give both of your suggestions a more thorough look. @darkside: Honest Hearts should be possible to do at any level, but the armor and weapons you come out of there with are quite strong. The best thing is probably to get up and around the recommended levels (15+ for OWB, 20+ for DM and 25+ for LR, though I found OWB a bit harder than that and would actually recommend holding out a bit) do one of the DLCs, go back to the Mojave and do some quests, then do another DLC, making sure not to over-pace either experience. Dead Money challenges you through some other mechanics, not so much as just bullet spongers, so that's going to be tough either way. It's also worth noting that OWB has a certain enemy that you don't need to kill to complete the DLC, but could be worth returning for afterwards. Which is also perfectly fine to do since F&L includes the Yui mod that makes enemies respawn there. Ultimately I think the best thing is just to trust the game to do it's thing when it comes to its challenging nature, and try not to worry too much. ::
  20. A screenshot thread is a fabulous idea! I've updated all the mods in the guide to the currect version numbers, and might even get to play FNV for ten minutes today before I start looking at darthbdaman's Advanced Recon Patches. Also updated New Vegas Landscape Overhaul to 1.2.1 (fixing a hole in the ground and the floating bulletin board from NVBII).
  21. Norway in fact. Two years for products not meant to last significantly longer and five years for everything meant to last longer, as long as the seller is a business and the buyer a consumer. Don't know what it's like in the rest of Scandinavia, but here that's covered by forbrukerkjøpsloven (which translates to the Consumer Purchase Law). The thing is this warranty is required of the seller, not the manufacturer, otherwise there's a two year obligation like you described (if the purchase is a store buying from a manufacturer to sell for example). ::
  22. That's true. Warranty is so easy over here usually (if your product is meant to last significantly longer than 2 years you can file a complaint with the store you bought it from up until 5 years from the date of purchase, so you basically get a warranty for everything) that I completely forgot about that aspect of it.
  23. I don't really want to spend that much money, and what I figured was that if I bought a new one now maybe I could sell the old one for around 1000,- kr (116.58 USD). However you do bring up a lot of good points, and there's not really any significantly taxing games I've set my eyes on for the coming year. Hence I think I'll wait this one out a bit longer.
