In my opinion AMB wins in most of those sets of screenshots. I also prefer SRTO though when it came to the Ash Cliffs. However, the majority of SRTO's textures seemed to be either too noisy, deviated from vanilla too much or both.

Sounds like there needs to be an "Extreme STEP" pack now because of this ;)

Have you ever fired a weapon before? It's a really easy way of seeing DoF in reality. Just stare down the iron sights and focus on the target and everything around that target will become blurry and out-of-focus. Also you can also focus on the little "iron" post near the front of the weapon as you're staring down the iron sights and even though the target is directly behind it, it will be blurry. Heck, put a finger in front of your face and focus solely on it and things further in the distance will be blurry.

Well going off of that video it's definitely a huge improvement over vanilla and it seems to stick pretty close to the vanilla aesthetic still.

I think that is what he meant. I don't think he meant the entire mod was being taken out.

Yeah I can't be mad either. They put a lot of effort into this website. Hidden links, secret codes, morse codes. It was awesome and well thought out and I'm kind of glad that Bethesda let it go on for so long (probably because of free marketing).

I thought the video looked beautiful in my opinion and the response has been completely unnecessary. If you don't like the way it looks then that is fine and you are free to say why you do not like it. However, there is no reason to get all personal with your reasoning. This forum is so that others can see potential mods they might like to use and can even be used as a springboard to be put into STEP Core or Extended. As far as I'm aware, there are no rules about how they advertise, the screenshots they use or videos, and who they're associated with. The STEP team simply determines whether or not it fits vanilla and if it's better than what is offered.

It sounds like The Survivor (most likely the playable character) was the one sending out the messages. The Institute showed up as a result of the messages and found 899 corpses. So The Survivor was either hiding or left after whoever murdered everyone else left.

Sounded more like someone else attacked the Vault and that The Institute responded and found 899 dead corpses.

Why does it have to be corded? I use a wireless 360 controller for any gamepad needs on the PC :p

It's a quantum leap in the wrong direction in my opinion. I wish I could go into detail on the forums but I can't. Skyrim combat is a lot better which is actually a bad thing because as Aiyen said, Skyrim's combat isn't the best.

I disagree completely. I played for about ten minutes and had to quit. The combat system is terrible and not fun in my opinion.

I have to agree. I don't see this being released on 360/PS3. I believe this will be a Next-Gen exclusive (PC Included) and therefore will run on a new engine. I also agree that the date is merely an announcement definitely not a release date. It would be very stupid to release a game without any marketing.

I'll be juggling time with my Xbox One and the Beta this weekend. We'll see how it goes!

Just want to tell you that you aren't allowed to take screenshots or videos or stream the beta. It is still in a Closed Beta status and under NDA. The only thing you are allowed to tell people is that you are in the beta, you are not allowed to discuss any portion of the game. You can't even tell someone the name of a creature you killed.

I use Chrome and while we're on the topic of Virus protection, I use Malwarebytes and MSE (Windows Defender). I've never had an issue with viruses, malware or spyware. This though is mostly due to knowing what the heck I'm doing.

Hopefully it's a true next-gen title and not a cross-gen title.

Well this new generation growing up won't help with any of that. (Yes I am part of that generation technically, but I'm not an entitled bastard :p).

Honestly, I wouldn't upgrade to Windows 8 from Windows 7 unless you can get it cheap. This isn't because Windows 8 is bad, it's because both of them are really good with Windows 8 being a little faster (for me at least). I only upgraded because I was able to get Windows 8 Pro for 15$!
