  1. Nice nice, Lore-Friendly UNPB-BBP love for Cabal's retextures.
  2. Snow only turns into sludge if it is ready to melt, and that needs salt(or whatever they toss on the roads to keep ice off the highways) or warmn temperature if it's cold enough snow just gets stomped tighter and tighter. Eventualy these layers of tightly packed snow will turn into something that looks like white ice (or any solid pile of snow). The road is actualy pretty solid by then, and stays that way untill someting really warms it up.
  3. Oh nice! Totally managed to miss this version.
  4. Ok thanks, good not yet reopted those then.
  5. Think thats from STEP wiki pages for DDSopt, and ment for all *.dds files, not for only normals that 2048x1024 suggestion was for.
  6. To every *.dds or just *_n.dds, I'll assume the later? nvm..
  7. Ok, so just to clarify reduce *_n.dds files to 1K from orginal with DDSopt (or is there a setting to cut half x resolution) for foundation packs, should I do this to HiResDLC files as well? The initial testing after all that looks promising. Will see if can catch a CTD soon. Edit: Yet to catch a CTD after reducing normals to 1K, not yet tried if the suggested 2048x1024 works as well. Trying to not rise my hopes too high but seems there is hope yet for me actualy getting to play this game since 2011 vanilla. :)
  8. Having pretty much only mods in your Revisited guide + ENB atm but still having issues like in the "CTD at 3.1GB" topic, the game is pretty much unplayable thanks to too frequent CTD. All the major Beth textures (haven't touched the mods yet but prefered 2K version or 1K versions) are all DDSopt optimized to 2K. GPU is 7970 3GB and 8 GB System RAM. So I would like to know if you have done any addional ini tweaks other than those mentioned in your guide. What kind of DDSopt resolution you use for full HD 1080p? What ENB, and settings if customized? What I'm looking for is playable Skyrim with as many mods from your guide as possible. Have you managed to get there, less CTD, but still have a noticable improvement over Vanilla graphic quality?
  9. Here I thought this drama was over long time ago, never the less, still going to use both SRO and TPC texture sorter to make the game look better. Sad times but not letting it stain the game. :\
  10. The blood folder has 6 files: bloodedge01.dds bloodedge01_n.dds bloodedge01add.dds bloodhitdecals01.dds bloodhitdecals01_n.dds decalsbloodsplatter01_n.dds (overwritten by Enhanced Blood Textures) One or many of these have issues with optimization, I just added all manualy to mod organizer. The weapon of which blade I noticed turning purple with blood on it was Steel dagger, didn't test much else.
  11. Didn't check which file but there are only 6 in this folder (HiResDLC2/textures/blood) optimization turns some weapons purple after spilling some blood with them. Adding these blood files manualy resolved the problem. Enhanced Blood Textures only overwrites one of these files so 5 are left to do some damage. ^^
  12. Nice find, giving it a try with your enb for RCRN.
  13. My gpu has 3 GB vram of which both gpu-z and asus gpu tweak have logged over 2 GB memory used but no idea how it's used. That is with a lot of high resolution textures, some ini tweaks, RCReN(RCRN + enb) and 2x super-sample AA. :\
  14. Big thanks for the settings. ^^ Edit: SkyrimCloudsFill.dds is what makes the border horizon "line" between water and clouds purple/dark blue after optimization. Vanilla skies. :'(
  15. These https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=228&pid=6366#pid6366? Should I also use the default DDSoptPre5 Map multipliers from the Behave tab? Last time ran with these settings the horizon turned purple, have to disable some files from the sky folder? Thanks. Edit: So far have ran DDSopt again with these settings on Vanilla Textures + HiResDLC and CombinedTexturePack 1.71. Everything else is fine but have a purple horizon and some land is purple beyond the border. The horizon is fine if I skip vanilla sky folder, not yet tried to see which file it is. For the later I have no idea yet, maybe some mountain, rock or something.
  16. So what would be the latest recommended settings to optimize Skyrim - Textures.bsa?
  17. Thanks for the warning. ;)
  18. Thanks for the great tool and information.
  19. Love your work with these CaBaL, can't wait to see the rest! ^^
  20. Thanks for all the good work so far, this mod really saves hours of pain from many, myself included. ^^ Also want to give thanks to the community for all the support given to the author. Sad to hear some authors feel the way they do about this, people can have great pride for their work, but why release anything in the 1st place if not want to share it. Besides, as said, this one doesn't really steal anything, just helpful for the end users who doesn't have the time or skills to browse through all the content in these mods and combine them into something they might like even more.
