  1. Err... 1024mb is how much VRAM you have. When you overclock you're increasing the speed of your VRAM, not the quantity...
  2. What? 1080p is 1080p. Larger screen size doesn't mean you need more GPU power.
  3. Using more than uGrids=5 on a heavily-modded Skyrim is just asking for CTDs, especially if you use very high resolution textures. There has to be a trade-off somewhere.
  4. Because Bethesda. And consoles.
  5. Yup, following this one with great interest.
  6. Oh snap, thanks guys.
  7. I like the knockdown too, but I hate the fact that it takes you 80,000 years to get back up. That's obviously a problem with Skyrim, not the mod though.
  8. Could have sworn there was already a thread about this mod, but I can't find one. But yeah, I've been following this mod and it looks really good. Personally I'm waiting for a version with MCM support, but I'll definitely be using this when I actually play the game.
  9. I'm really glad he decided to release a basic version. Personally I'm not a fan of the new diverse trees.
  10. I cut a few more memory-intensive mods and reduced all my normalmaps to a maximum of 1024 the other night and I got the Riverwood load-in down to 1600mb RAM usage... 1900 with uGrids=7. Just tested Windhelm... 2GB on load-in and 2250 in Candlehearth.
  11. Very nice. I was just thinking the other day how I wish someone would pick this mod back up. I hope you get around to the DLC quests!
  12. Is that with extensive testing though? Let's face it... Skyrim is going to crash occasionally regardless of RAM/VRAM.
  13. As z stated, they limit their VRAM usage to very low numbers. I'm sure if you limited your VRAM to 1-1.5GB you'd never come close to 3GB of physical RAM usage either.
  14. I don't believe so. It seems just as fast to me.
  15. You'll need your Mod Organizer folder on your SSD as well. Skyrim will load all the assets from wherever the MO folder is, so if it's on a mechanical drive you'll get mechanical drive load speeds.
  16. What's the deal with the multiple .esp files in the Hearthfire version? (Also, any chance you could answer my question regarding Traps Make Noise here?)
  17. Did a run from Helgen cave to Riverwood. Not the most accurate thing in the world, but it correctly depicts what I've found in my testing. Vanilla: Vanilla+TPC: So with ONLY Texture Pack Combiner being added, I see an increase of ~500MB VRAM and 430MB physical RAM.
  18. I'm not going to go through all the trouble of doing a spreadsheet, but I can show the difference between vanilla and vanilla+TPC as far as VRAM/RAM usage goes. Unfortunately GPU-z doesn't seem to support dynamic memory monitoring on GTX680s. What could I use instead?
  19. That's certainly not my experience.
  20. Such is the life of heavy Skyrim modding :(
  21. That's alot of mods, but I think I have more. Honestly I don't think textures are your problem. As you can see my VRAM usage is more than yours, but my RAM usage is considerably lower... over 1GB lower. That's huge. Personally, I would start with a fresh vanilla Skyrim and install mods a little at a time and monitor RAM usage to find out which ones add the most. I recently went through my list and got rid of the ones that I figured I could live without in an attempt to make my game stable with uGrids=7. Unfortunately that proved futile. The engine just can't handle it. I routinely go over 3GB VRAM usage as well, but as long as physical usage stays below ~2.5GB I'd say you're golden.
  22. I'm very curious about your mod setup and how you can get that high physical RAM usage with default uGrids. Loading into Riverwood with every mod I have, I'm at 1859 RAM usage and 1889 VRAM usage. That's with most textures at 2048+ resolution, 2560x1600 screen resolution, and a large number of script-heavy mods outside of STEP. Even with uGrids=7, those numbers would only jump to ~2300 physical, 1950 VRAM. I have DDSOpted virtually all my textures, but that should only be 1-200mb physical/VRAM usage at best.
  23. Yes TPC with SRO. And yeah, disk space means nothing as obviously you're not loading all your textures at once...
