  1. Anyone else notice this or am I just OCD? Doing a re-install of STEP with smaller base textures in hopes of freeing up some vram so I can use this mod without massive stuttering.
  2. How many saves are you up to? and what size is the last save? What level too by the way? Not sure if this makes a difference or not though. Through papyrus logging I was able to eliminate the freezing (I think... roughly 10 hours freeze-free). The culprit was Enhanced Blood Textures. I do still get some CTDs though, but I suspect More Village Animals. As for saves, not sure how many... maybe 10 or so. The latest one is almost 6mb. I'm level 29 I think.
  3. Hmm, I had assumed that since most of my textures were around 2k it wouldn't make a big difference. I'll try it out though, as well as check out the ddsopt program. Thanks for the suggestions. EDIT: Also going to try out disabling Aero to free up ~100-200mb of vram since I'm fairly certain I'm right on the threshold of 2gb usage.
  4. Yeah, I use it without the resize option. When I resize textures to 1k my vram caps out at about 1.6gb and all stutter is eliminated. Unfortunately the game looks very noticeably worse. So basically I have to decide if I want amazing textures, some stutter, and no Skyrim Distance Overhaul or less amazing textures, no stutter, and Skyrim Distance Overhaul.
  5. I too have an absurdly powerful PC, and the only time I drop below 60fps is when I'm overlooking Whiterun with the Beautiful Whiterun mod enabled (50fps). I game at 2560x1600, 4x AA, 4x TrAA, 8x AF, maximum resolution textures from the STEP guide, and RCRN. Vsync is enabled. While my FPS is great, I do get stuttering when loading textures due to being VRAM capped (2gb). I assume there's nothing I can do to alleviate this except buy video cards with 4+ gb vram?
  6. So I noticed this mod has been taken off Nexus. Prior to it being taken off I saw a comment by Puuloo about him being banned as well? This mod is essential in my opinion and I was looking forward to a fix to RCRN compatibility! What's the word? Also, is there another mod that does something similar? Thanks!
  7. I've started getting some freezes lately. I was using the STEP guide with 0 issues for about a week when they suddenly started. I have added a number of gameplay-related mods in the days after the initial STEP install, so it will be difficult to pinpoint the problem. I'm leaning towards Frostfall though. The freezes are pretty few and far between, but they seem to always occur after a loading screen when the game is autosaving. I updated my nVidia drivers from 304.48 to 304.79 in hopes that that fixes the issue. I don't really want to trial and error with mods. I'd hate to disable Frostfall... I really love that mod.
  8. I had this issue until I copied over and overwrote the 2 files in the Data\Textures\terrain\tamriel\objects folder. I didn't want to overwrite the files because of what people were saying about WATER/waterfall lod, but the mod is broken without that file, soooo not sure what to do. As for the mod, it does look great, but the rocks seem a bit brighter than nearby rocks, but that's probably because I'm using AOF Detailed Mountains. Also, this mod seems to make z-fighting considerably worse for me. I double checked my .ini settings and they did not change so I'm not sure what's up. Z-fighting increase was my imagination.
