Aspen Tree Compare for the SkyrimSE Guide
dreadflopp replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim SE Guide
I just love how STEP inspires me to google search pictures of aspen trees for an hour to compare game versions of trees to real ones. I prefer Aspens Ablaze judging from these screens. They do deviate from vanilla though. If we want something closer to vanilla, I prefer RAT. Aspen Realism isn't how I pictured aspen trees at all, which is why I started googling for pictures, which made me realize that American and European/Scandinavian (which is where I live) aspen trees are different species. When googling for aspen pics, I found this: european aspen , which resembles Aspens Ablaze imo. -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)

Thanks sattyre and I couldn't agree more. Wabbajack is great for people that just want to install a whole mod list and play the game. I believe most of us modders that do this ourselves without using a batch install/automation-tool like wabbajack like the modding process almost as much or perhaps even more than actually playing the game. And if you install a mod list by following a guide like STEP, you will learn at least some basic modding skills that will allow you to install mods on top of the mod list or leave out mods that you do not want in your game. -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
dreadflopp replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
It has been quiet from me for a while here in the forum. I'm still here and updating this build. I'm just letting you know that the site has been completely rebuilt and it now also has a nexus page. I don't think there are many users atm, but it's there for anyone that wants. STEP currently seems to adopt EnaiSiaion's suite of mods that alters magic, skill, races, abilities etc. This build uses SimonMagus suite instead, for anyone that is intrested in that. Thats it! Same link as usual: https://dreadflopp.github.io/dreadsskyrimbuild/ -

Sorry for the late answer, I am not getting email notifications like I used to. 1) This is intended. Moderna Brawl Bug fix is probably included in several mods, I'm leaving it in since it doesn't hurt and some users might choose not to install the mods that include the Brawl bug fix. 2) Thanks, fixed it. 3) Thanks, I already made my own patches and added to the patch installer. 4) Didn't notice that, yes choose JK's Skyrim - Solitude Skyway 5) Thanks, fixed it. 6) I'll look into it and thanks for the solution. I haven't had that problem but I might need to add it to the guide. Thanks for the help and the kind words! 🙂 -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
dreadflopp replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
The guide and all patches are updated and all changes from STEP SE 1.0 are incorporated into the guide. It will not be added at this time since it needs to much patching against other mods, but i might reconsider it at a later time. -

Thanks for the nice words. It will at most take two weeks, but I did manage to work through the big textures section today, which means I might be able to finish the update tomorrow (very possible). -

Just an FYI, the build is currently being updated. All featured mods and patches are up to date and the guide is being updated with changes from STEP SE 1.0. It will take another week before all changes are mirrored in the guide. -

It is allowed to post links. I'll check out Bosmer Armor Pack and add it to the pack if it isn't unbalanced. I'll let you know as soon as I have gotten the time to take a look at it. -

Works fine for me, please try again to see if it works. Maybe something was up with postimage. I will move the images to the repo to avoid this in the future. -

It is probably not for the light version of enhanced blood. That was a mistake, a batch of patches didn't have the flag. It is now fixed. Here is information about plugin files and the limitations of esl-files: https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/5079-plugin-files-and-you-esmeslesp/ There is a script (2 actually but the seem like 2 accidental copies of each other) in SSEEdit that can find files to convert to esl files. Open SSEEdit and load all your plugin. Right click a plugin and choose Apply script... and choose the script Find plugins which could be turned into esl and run it. It will tell you which plugins you can turn into esl files by just editing the header in the plugin. To edit the header, select the plugin you wish to edit, right click Record Flags (sorted) and choose Edit. Tick ESl, choose ok and save and you are done. zEdit does not support esl-files, something to keep in mind. I would rather flag plugin files as esl if needed than merge them, but if you want to merge, check Lexy's guide. She merges a lot of plugins. Merging is a lot more time consuming than flagging as esl though, especially when mods get updated. -

1. Not sure about LoS, I don't have a strong opinion here and if no one else got that I'm going with whatever STEP does. The august update seems to be for Tamriel master lights only, which we don't use. 2. I'm slowly working through all suggested mods. There is nothing major that should prevent you from updating. Well, there is one and that is Ethereal Elven Overhaul and Diversity. I'll go through the patches and load order to fix the dark face bug and add them to the guide. NPC AI process position fix will replace Closing Time when it's bugs are fixed. I'll checkout 360 Movement Behavior SE as well as the mods you suggested now and awhile back. Texture mods takes time to test, which is why I usually relies on STEP for that. Runsbuns suggested some mods. From his/her list I have already added NARC. Scarcity won't be added (too much conflicts). Neither will SkyTest (I don't like it) or Mature Skin (very good mod but so is Bijin Skin). I will checkout Travellers of Skyrim, Racial Body Morphs or FK's Diverse Racial Skeletons (I don't think it will be added) and Interesting NPCs Visual Overhaul. 3. Correct, it is included in my patches. 4.1 Maybe, I'll check it out. 4.2 Very interesting, the next thing I'll check out. 4.3 I think I have used this one before. I used a LAL expansion that added to much high level gear in the starting cave/location. 4.4 will check out. -

No worries. I don't know what the aMidianborn or Frankly patches do, but they aren't bodyslide patches. -

dreadflopp replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
A cbbe-patch contains bodyslides which are used to build your own meshes that fits the body preset you have chosen. I'll take a look att the Frankly and aMidianborn patches. They will be added if they are made properly. And yes, check the relevant options in step #7. The Lustmord armor already has cbbe support and the mod you linked is the same as in the guide. Thanks, I will fix it soon. -

It is very modular, meaning that you can use any of the included mods in almost any combination you want. But if you add other mods that are not in the guide you may have to do some conflict resolution yourself. If you use ccor you will have to use waccf. There are patches on kryptopyrs patch hub that solves all major conflicts but there will most probably be inconsistencies in your game. Weapons added by weapon or quest mods won't have the stats for dwarven, elven and orcish weapons switched. Waccf and caco conflicts with skill overhauls. The conflicts can be solved by loading the mods that you want the changes from last in most cases. If you use these mods you will have to use a bashed patch. If you want to use Enai's mods, remove the mods by SimonMagus. Enai's mods (except for Wintermyst/Summermyst) rarely needs any patches. -
Dread's Skyrim Build (a STEP build)
dreadflopp replied to dreadflopp's topic in Unofficial Skyrim SE Guides
This seems to be a mix of new textures as well as a compilation of other texture mods. The author states that he/she haven't asked for permissions to use them ("I believe they will be fine") and a quick google search revealed that the author actually is banned from the Nexus for stealing textures. If you check the list of authors getting credits, you'll see that many of the included textures are already in STEP or in my build like CaBaL120, Gamiwich, Kajuan and T4gtr34um3r. I won't put this in the build, but if you would like to, you should replace SRO with it and probably uninstall the landscape/flora/tree/mountain mods from the guide. I saw this and it will replace Closing Time in the guide. Let me know if you have any troubles with it. I will look into it, always happy for suggestions, especially regarding character animations which imo are hard to compare against each other. -

Need some more time to figure out why I can't get Github pages to build the site, I have tested the site in another repo and it works fine, just some polish needed. Use this link until I figured it out: https://dreadflopp.github.io/guide-test/ -

Some updates to the Github Pages site, https://dreadflopp.github.io/dreads_modlist_patches/ After some tweaking and testing, the table of contents is finally usable. I will try to tweak the theme, especially the sidebar, some more and edit the color theme. -

@runsbuns I will take a look at your suggestions I have created a Github pages version of the guide: https://dreadflopp.github.io/dreads_modlist_patches/ It is automatically built from the readme version each time it is updated. The big difference is that if features a Table of Contents, which can be convenient. -

1.1 Fixed 1.2 Fixed, removed Smooth Sky Meshes 1.3 Leaving Barenzian Glory in the guide to get the exact option that is used in STEP rather than the forgotten retex option. Might revisit this. 1.4 Forgotten retex uses 1.0x version, this guide uses the 0.5x version. 1.5 Already answered. 2.1 Fixed 2.2 No fix needed 2.3 Pending, might even revert to the old Lanterns of Skyrim after seeing the discussion in the forums, or maybe skip this mod. Thoughts? 2.4 Pending Fixed 2.5 Fixed Bodyslide and outfit studios, Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer, Embers HD, JK interiors patches collection, Nether's follower Framework, Racemenu, Realistic Water two, Rustic clothing, Skyrim Landscapes and Water fixes, SSE Engine Fixes, The Tools of Kagrenac - All checked!
