Skyrim Gameplay Rebalance
dreadflopp replied to dreadflopp's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
He Hello, sorry for the late answer. Unfortunately some of my dropbox files, including the patches, disappeared during on of many linux reinstallations. You could try to post a new topic on the forum and ask if anyone still has a copy. -
CTD att Main menu usually means you have a plugin with missing masters and it seems to be the weather merge. Restart or refresh MO after the merge and check if there is a red triangle before the weather merge plugin name. Maybe you have merged a patch that shouldn't be in there or you have forgotten to install a mod that the weather merge depends on. And what Lexy said.

It is hard to troubleshoot. I've had a ctd just like that at the Riverwood trader. It was a known bug caused by JK's city mods. It only affected some users. It was "solved" by deactivating JK's, talk to the trader to make him show his inventory, save and activate JK's. That made the inventory work again. Frostfall has an inventory bug, but it isn't known to cause an instant ctd when you open the traders inventory. You could try to deactivate frostfall+campfire anyway.

I don't think there is a way to see what's in there but you can see what might be in there. This is done by opening him in xEdit and check which level list is used to populate his inventory with items and checking that leveled list. The leveled list entries might themselves be other leveled lists. Ctrl + left mouse button on formIds on the right hand record view jumps directly to that formId in the left hand record list. Back button on the mouse returns to previously viewed record. Makes navigating the lists easier. Check that you have the latest version of the level list patch. If not, update and rebuild bash and smash patch. Load a save before his inventory got populated with items, which should be before you first entered his cell (=his shop).

I'm pretty sure you don't need to rebuild the zEdit patch, but it only takes a minute so it doesn't hurt. In Smash, make sure the bashed patch and any other plugin that should be in the smash patch has the correct smash tag. When a plugin is changed since last time smash loaded it, it sets the smash tag to skip.
-
There shouldn't be any default tags. Maybe you imported tags from LOOT? As Lexy said, leave them as you have them. No, it is merged into the smashed patch. For those of you that use this guide without MLU, I will update the level list patches tomorrow morning. Something broke with them when I removed masters from. Do not use current version. MLU versions of the patches are fine.

I've had that ctd too, I don't know why though. I don't have it now. I think Aela and her crew spawns before the giant. The problem could be something with them too. Possibly XPMSE? Another thing about that giant. A small patch to buff his hp maybe? With the mods in the guide there is no way to help the Aela killing the giant, he is always killed when you're in the distance. Aela still complains about you not helping taking it down.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :)

Personally I love the degradation of loot. Loot and degradation doesn't seem stable enough yet, judging by the comments on the nexus. The mod you linked seem good and will be on my radar. It will probably be added at my next update, if Loot and degradation hasn't got ported. I am not updating the packs atm, I am currently testing, playing and doing stuff with DarkLadyLexy's Legend of The Dragonborn-guide. Tech will update his guide after STEP 3.0 is released. Hopefully I'll get some time to work with this then.
