Do I have to install 2.N. Patches after installing Core+Extended?
Ubeogesh replied to xxx78's question in General Skyrim LE Support
STEP patches are not necessary, as far as I understand they incorporate some of the ESPs from other mods in STEP (so if you keep that in mind and use those ESPs - you are good to go without STEP patches). Bashed patch - based on the AMB book of silence page https://wiki.step-project.com/AMidianBorn_Book_of_Silence - you have to use it if you use the Content Addon part of it. Otherwise maybe not necessary, though it merges changes from some ESPs based on Bash Tags which should help to ensure compatibility... Better Shaped Weapons isn't really a patch, as far as I understand it just has to go after DSR... DSR and FNIS are optional. Though if you use DSR, you will also need XP32 skeleton, which needs FNIS, or you will have glitches (like torch holding glitch) -
bug Is there a way to fix infinite sprint bug?
Ubeogesh posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Hi all, I've stumbled upon a bug in Skyrim, which somewhat bothers me... dunno how I didn't notice it earlier, but it is even listed on the Skyrim wiki: https://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Sprinting And for me it really is reporoducing just that simple. Equip torch, sheathe weapon. Start running forward. Hit (I don't even need to hold it, just hit once) ALT key once -> you're sprinting forever, even after stamina runs out... I have just installed STEP:Core on my Skyrim (except Smart Souls and Come Together N Out of the way mods, cuz I don't like them) + a couple of extended mods, which are XP32 skeleton, dual sheath redux, FNIS and Even Better Quest Objectives, nothing else; and stumbled upon this. Is there a known way to fix this? Thanks in advance -
DROPPED Skyrim Distant Detail (by Kazoomie - Dovahsbane)
Ubeogesh replied to MadWizard25's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Even after I clean the plugin of this mod (remove ITM in TES5EDIT and forwarding USKP changes as described on the Neovalen's page (btw there is one more "placed object" that needs changes forwarding, it is highlighted in red in the TES5EDIT)), LOOT reports the same amount of ITM in it (694), though TES5EDIT reported to remove around ~350 ITMs Am I doing something wrong? UPD: Oh okay. It is only the MO built-in LOOT that gives me the warning. The new standalone version of LOOT says its okay -
DROPPED Terrain Bump - Texture Pack (by SparrowPrince)

Hi all, The wiki page says to hide textures\landscape\roads\icicle_n.dds file, but it is not present in the package (1.4d) -
Snow, snowy rocks and roads have different color and light reflections

OK guys thanks, I'm relieved -
Snow, snowy rocks and roads have different color and light reflections
Ubeogesh replied to Ubeogesh's question in General Skyrim LE Support
You talk about the meshes (if I understand the terminology correctly, then meshes are various object surfaces such as roads, plants, etc.) - but the meshes are always lit OK. What is not lit is the road (land) itself... -
Snow, snowy rocks and roads have different color and light reflections
Ubeogesh replied to Ubeogesh's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thanks for trying to help me. So after I posted and played around with mods and settings I found out that there are different problems on the screenshot. I am really fine with the two closer ones (snowy rocks and snow having different color), but the further bug where the snow (land) isn't lit by guard's torch, and the piece of road is - is very annoying, and I can't recall I've seen it earlier. Lets start from the beginning, I'll try to show the problem once more. First off: totally vanilla skyrim To reproduce: Start a new game in a absolutely clear vanilla Skyrim (even without Live Another Life and SKSE) Go to Dawnstar, look at the path that leads to the Inn Wait until its dark and a guard comes around Save the game and quit Skyrim Launch Skyrim and load the gameResult: The snow is dark, the road and other objects are lit Next step: Without exiting Skyrim, load the game one more time Result: Snow receives light, everything looks good. So Aiyen if you say this is normal, I wonder if someone can reproduce this for me so that I am at rest? because I am worried that there's something wrong with my system. -
Snow, snowy rocks and roads have different color and light reflections
Ubeogesh replied to Ubeogesh's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK here is when the problem occurs... I have to start Skyrim and load in that location (that's the southern exit from Dawnstar). If I go to any interrior and back to exterrior than lighting from guards torches is fine. Or if I reload the game after loading once more - lighting from guards torches is also fine. This reproduces with absolutely no mods installed and completely vanilla skyrim files and settings. Thinking now - maybe it was in skyrim all the time? Can anyone check this? Just in case I am using GeForce 335.23 driver on Windows 8.1 x64 with GeForce GTX 780 Ti. -
Snow, snowy rocks and roads have different color and light reflections
Ubeogesh replied to Ubeogesh's question in General Skyrim LE Support
OK here's an update... i've tried starting Vanilla skyrim (no mods, not ENB, only "live another life", I also deleted and re-created the INI files) and this weird issue also happens. Moreover, it only happens from the light that comes from torches of guards, not from my own torch (from my own torch snow and road are lit evenly) -
I can see it in Dawnstar: I use almost a complete STEP:Core (only mod I am not using is Unknown Enchants) + A only couple of mods from STEP:Extended (most of the Gameplay + iHUD + maybe something else, but not texture related) + RealVision ENB (tried turning it off though, the color inconsistencies are still there) + a couple of other mods (Falskaar, 3DNPC, Alternate Start, i.e. other stuff not related to textures in Skyrim) Just in case here's the full list of active mods from MO: https://1drv.ms/P6oEOp (Or the text version: https://pastebin.com/qJPr6Xh7 ) Can someone please help me troubleshoot this?

ACCEPTED Improved Close Faced Helmets (by navida1)
Ubeogesh replied to mothergoose729's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
So I don't understand something. I see it was discussed here already, but I didn't see a straight answer. The following file's readme: Improved Closefaced Helmets -- WAF and CCF Compatible Versions says following: The STEP wiki tells me to install the imp_helm_imp: The improved imperial full face helmet - no cloth around the neck- file is the imp_helm_imp.esp. And then the STEP wiki tells me to remove that file: So why then I install the no cloth around the neck file if I don't use it (I am suggested to remove the ESP via ModOrganizer, and the ESP changes aren't included in the "Legendary" edition that I am suggested to use)? -
You can use a plastic\paper cup to make an improvised stand for the smartphone. Turn the cup upside down, cut a slot for the smartphone in the cup's bottom.. In the mean time, my H100i broke and I've ordered a water cooling kit from EKWB (EK KIT L240). That would be interesting when it arrives... but with our customs I fear i'll have to wait another month.

Why Elder Scrolls Online fails to Deliver (for me)
Ubeogesh replied to Uhuru's topic in General Game Discussion
FCqt, can you give me 1 key? Don't want to bother registering at that site... Probably going to try it out next weekend. -
My haswell 4770k is @ 4.5 GHz with 1.4v (i use adaptive voltage in mainboard, so it's ~1.0v when not under load) and it was delided and liquid metal applied on the die (it decreased load temps by 30 degrees at stock clocks under prime95!)

Why Elder Scrolls Online fails to Deliver (for me)
Ubeogesh replied to Uhuru's topic in General Game Discussion
OMG I just found out that there is an "Imperial edition" of the game that costs more and allows you to play as an Imperial. Paying for in-game content - that stinks. I wouldn't care about imperials, because I don't plan to play as one (they were boring in previous TESs for me), but I thought they were promising at some that in-game content wouldn't be sold. https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/preorder There are also - RINGS OF MARA - "Complete the Ritual of Mara with a friend and receive an experience bonus when you play together." That is actually pay to win. Oh my god that stinks even more. May you burn in Oblivion Zenimax -
Morrowind 12 years later...
Ubeogesh replied to Garfink's topic in General Morrowind Discussion & Support
Didn't see any mods that fix something that bothers me greatly... animations. Completely ugly running, walking and jumping animations. And also I have a problem with jumping - my character doesn't "land" on the ground as soon as he reaches it (his pose is still "hanging in the air" when he had already fallen). This is a disaster... Also can anyone advise what options should I pick in Morrowind Code Patch? -
My opinion is that vanilla Skyrim is balanced on GPU and CPU power (i.e. giving more GPU performance increases FPS by decent amount, giving more CPU power increases FPS by similar amount); once you add mods with scripts, NPCs, ... it becomes very CPU limited (i.e. in my setup if I push my i7-4770K to 4.7 GHz from 4.5 GHz I still see a couple of FPS improvement (though at 4.7 CPU is not quite stable :()). In this a couple of GPUs that performed differently before could have the same performance.

z-fighting is an ugly thing. Actually I have quite a lot of it, don't want more (got much more of it when installed RealVision ENB, but it's so beautiful - that's worth it). That missing wall corner doesn't really bother me at all. But out of curiosity, what section the option fneardistance goes in skyrim.ini? I don't have it there
-
I use Streamline only for FOV control Memory purging of it is harmful - you get much higher loading times... IIRC with full RAEVWD I got a ridiculously huge amount of geometry (checked in sdt 13 menu), so just freeing up memory or lowering lightning\shadow distance (which Streamline does) won't help. Can anyone tell me about oblivion - is mod uninstallation there as damaging to save games as in Skyrim?
-
O_o where? Texture aint blurred, it's just not the highest resolution (I try not to install anything more than 1K) What I'm talking about is in the topmost leftmost corner - the wall is "missing" there
-
Look at the top left corner to see what bug I am talking about. You really have to run at some wall to see it. No more problems at FOV 80.
-
Hm I thought default FOV is 65. Maybe I'm wrong. I had 7950 3GB recently and with an overclocked 4770 @ 4.5 without ENB (only ENBoost), STEP:Core, 2560*1080 FOV 80 it ran at 40+ FPS (lowest FPS are in Solitude near main entrance and also in Markarth; outside cities 60 FPS almost everywhere). 280x is exactly 7970 which is a bit faster than 7950 so you get the idea. Also 280x are quite expensive in my location (damn bitcoin miners!), you can get GTX 780 for almost the same price - I suggest going for it, as GeForce has more awesome features - ShadowPlay (recording game footage with almost no performance impact), Ambient Occlusion (though Skyrim ENBs add them, so if you will opt in for an ENB than you don't care), PhysX (doesn't help for Skyrim but will help in some games probably) Useless. They test vanilla Skyrim, maximum they include is HRDLC. Only thing I took from all those Skyrim benchmarks on hardware sites is that it is damn CPU hungry and favors Intel CPUs very much
-
What do you mean, "wouldn't recognized the application"? Can you explain exactly what are you doing and what happens?
-
In dat pastebin I see RAEVWD I say don't even try... I don't understand how it can be playable. Didn't try using it on my new GTX 780 Ti, but even on HD7950 it was a disaster - I never had playable FPS with it. Just running TES4LodGen seems enough for me. I see Frostcrag spire, most of the forts, bridges, daedric statues... What I hate about Oblivion graphics is distant land inaccuracy. I run TES4ll at the highest option, but still it is very inaccurate - a lot of "walls" in landscape (especially underwater), very distracting jumpy transitions when cells are loaded (actually this is also a problem with Skyrim, but to a much lesser extent). If you find a way to mod this out, I'd be grateful.
-
I play Skyrim at FOV = 80 on 21:9. Stretched objects at side don't distract me at all, they're not that bad (don't tell me about performance drop, I use a 780 Ti :D). The only bug I see with larger FOV is that when I get really close to some wall, at the edge of the screen it disappears and I see through it. But that's really rare occasion. I first noticed it when I was running on Dawnguard castle twisted stairs and didn't rotate camera fast enough. Shadow quality in my Skyrim is always super ugly though, no matter what FOV I set :( I try not to look much at shadows when I play :( lol noone said anything like that at all :PI said - was talking about high-DPI monitors and that you might want have 125% GUI increase set up in windows for them. But I realized I was silly about it, 24" 1920*1200 doesn't have DPI higher than 24" 1920*1080, cuz its surface is larger.
