1) Yes, I do not use FATT II either. But you can/should still install the other ones they are worth it and more or less independent episodes. 2) During early REGS developments we alsot ried Oakwood Village and experienced some CTDs, which were due to navmesh deletions if I remember correctly. In the end the decision was not to include it because of that and because there is already MAS in that area. 3) I seriously doubt that TES Arena is any match to the quality of FATT as it currently stands. FATT = tows + interios + voiced NPCs + unique and befitting stories. TES Arena = exteriors.... My personal opinion :) -

Well, I asked kryp if he was considering on making a Complete Perk Overhaul (that would be like, epic, right) to complement CCO, WAF etc. and his current perk mods (stealth skills rebalanced & smithing perks). His response was positive though said that it (understandably) will take a long time to develop and come to fruition (1year+) and that other projects are in line to be finished first. But at some point in time, I'm sure there'll be that perk mod that rules them all :) Until then, though, I probably continue to find it hard to choose between SkyRe (main esp) and SPERG. Both have a few drawbacks and pitfalls. -

Ooooh nice to see it has been included. About load order, I thought it was BOSS default ebcause I've had HLE-SIC edition for a few months and forgot that once upon a time I actually added BUM rules to those 2 esps... :: -

Well, 13Oranges' Pit Fighter addon already provides pretty good arena fights though. Also: You go to the FormID's (in REGS - SRLE Patch.esp in the left pane) spit out by the error log and simply remove them. That should solve most errors. -

Sorry redirishlord, I don't know of a better method to remove a master and its related edits from a patch apart from the one described above. For now I will not be bringing out a version without FATT. In fact, the patch is aimed at a full install (excludign LoS and gameplay-changes mods) as mentioned in the new introduction of the updated compatibility guide. I cannot give support btw for esp merges or mods that go beyond original SRLE. Might I ask though, what is wrong with FATT? Episode IV in particular (which is dragonmourninn if I am not mistaken) is really good, the environment of DB South is beautiful imho. -

I have updated the REGS - SRLE Compatibiltiy guide. I'll provide my SRLE-REGS compatibility patch esp soon which people can use instead of the outdated manual tes5editng instructions. I'll see if the mod section needs more updates still. This is my version at the moment which I will go over once more tomorrow to double check. If anyone is willing, you can download it here and provide some feedback: https://app.box.com/s/0vzr5iwh6fv3lnt034q2 -
I don't know about that, I don't think it does with regards to script unless the script is part of an assigned package to that specific NPC. Not sure though. But it wouldn't detect something like wet and cold (I think). It does, by the way, have a pretty useful extra 'cheat' command to test out weapons and armors: Some uesful info:

With MFG Console you can determine the last esp that has affected the NPC (i.e. the 'conflict winner').

SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems
Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Well, when making this guide I had a standard 1080p resolution in mind with medium-end desktop GPUs. Increasing the resolution has always come at a major performance cost. Look at it like this, for example: 1) 720p HD: 1280 x 720 = 921600 (0.92 million pixels) 2) 1080p Full HD: 1920 x 1080 = 2073600 (2.07 million pixels) That is more than double the amount of pixels when going from 720p to 1080p (not 1/3rd as their terms would suggest). On my GPU (HD6950 dekstop version) running SRLE + REGS with the optimizations from this guide results in about 35 FPS average and 30-32 minimum FPS. I also have an overclocked i5 2500k. Comparison of HD6970 M to HD6950 Dekstop (scroll down to Features). I really really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but running this combination of guides on your system is going to be quite a challenge. Not impossible, I think, but you'll have to do much more optimizations than what I describe in the guide... -
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/55921/? The author has some quite elaborative explanations of various INI settings. Some very interesting conclusions with regards to some INI settings as well. I disagree with the values he chooses for a few of them, but the exlanations are spot on. he particularly has some interesting things to say about the different grass tweaks, and how they affect pop-in. Is there anything in his guide which, by your knowledge, is incorrect? By the way, does STEP actually have an INI guide like this on the wiki (with explanations, not the 2.2.9 INI guide with settings)? Can't seem to find one.

Happy to see Immersive Patrols added to SRLE, been using it for a while without issues since the update to version 2.0, which made the mod a whole lot better imho. Neo, have you considered adding High Level Enemies - SIC Edition? It's basically a remake of HLE made by the author of SIC. Works for all the vanilla mobs. Best thing is, even the SIC difficulty sliders work with it! Lifestorock really did a great job, as he merged all the ESPs of HLE and integrated SIC spells & perks with vanilla mobs while removing the HLE perks & spells (which were often not that well thought out). As long as OBIS loads after HLE-SIC, which it does by default BOSS order, then it only needs a few minimal patches here and there, but nothing major. I think this could be a good solution to keep the game interesting at higher levels, especially with the Uncapper included in the guide now. -
SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems
Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I meant to say btw that Skyrim would also request aboe 2GB VRAM (not only near, or at) and that is what can cause major slowdowns/stutter especially in VRAM-heavy places like cities. Dawnstar in particular used to be very intensive. With the recent ETaC updates a lot of improvements were made there (a lot of which is due to CJ's influence I think), but I still regard ETaC Dawnstar as one of my primary testing grounds for stutter and general VRAM use. Even after all the optimizations it still hovers between 1950 and 2000 MB VRAM there on my system. -
SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems
Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
1) If you have DDSopted everything you should definitely notice a large VRAM reduction, to the tune of 200 - 500MB less depending on the scenario. However, as you are running a 2GB card, you may not actually observe the reduction because even before you did anything in this guide, your VRAM - assuming you had SRLE + REGS - would have been at or near the 2GB limit almost constantly. This should have resulted in more offloading to the RAM, which decreases your FPS and is probably the primary cause of stutter that many seem to experience with ENBoost when overloading the VRAM. 2) My enblocal has ReservedMemorySizeMb=128 as I read Boris saying some time ago that is what he uses on his 2Gb card. Results are system-dependent though. If I put that setting on =64, then I experience quite a bit more stutter. At =256, I have the occasional CTD. -

If you have major crashes around cities and you are using the correct REGS files in accordance with STEP (and the necessary patches), then it is indeed likely that crashes occur due to overload. Assuming you have ENBoost and the latests SKSE along with the proper tweaks, I would recommend isntalling Skyrim performance Monitor (launch SPM, then launch Mo via SPM, then launch SKSE from MO) to see if you are running at or near your max VRAM and/or RAM. Would also help to post your CPU/GPU/RAM/VRAM here and your enblocal.ini settings under [MEMORY]. With regards to LOOT, I can't help you there as I still use BOSS. I am also looking forward to the development of TES Arena Frontier. A lot will depend on how he is going to fill in the cities, but it looks promising. -
SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems

Updated: - Vividian ENB for 6.012 (check also SRLE's new instructions for reference, removal of ELE etc.). - Added BUM rules for SMIM-Light. - Added instructions for Beards, Brows and Hair mods. - Added Performance Waterfalls option to Realistic Water Two. Nope, because the ones he made 2k are almost all overwritten by aMidianborn's superior textures and secondly going back to 2k defeats the purpose of reducing the size :) Well if I read that correctly you are using a mobile GPU, which is a lot slower than the deskptop version. Think 30-50% less performance. I don't know much about iMacs but I believe it is common for Apple to install mobile versions in their integrated desktops due to size restrictions (and costs considerations I guess). One of the best eprformance ENBs I have ever tried is Realvision ENB Version B Performance. It gives about 15FPS more performance on my system than Vividian ENB, even after the tweaks, so you could have a look at that. If you find that you really cannot run with ENB, which frankly I wouldn't be surprised about with that mobile GPU, no offense, than you could always try one of the SweetFX presets on Nexus or at https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/game/61/ -

I won't be making a version for 1GB VRAM. If you have a low-end card like that then STEP Core is a better option. Yep it is already included in the guide. -

Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Keep in mind though that the boots and hands are often already at 1k. The major savings for most AMB mods comes from chest, legs and the normals. But yeah, the more recent AMB released by Cabal came with 1k options and ddsopting the other 2k ones to 1k max saves you more than 50% of total file size which amounts to a susbstantial VRAM reduction. Once you have your game stable you can always go back up. For instance you could choose to only ddsopt the *_n.dds to 1k as a middle-way. But if you don't notice that some armor pieces have become 1k, I wouldn't bother with it personally :) -

Well on my 3.5 year old 2500k I never noticed a drop in performance with any gameplay mod, unless they added actors. I know when I switch off Vividian ENB (even with the performance settings) ingame my FPS goes from approx 30-35 to 50-60. -

Yeah those were looked at during initial regs development stage. TES Arena is getting better and better. The exterior quality is already very good but the mod is not finished yet. As for the other two, I've only tried Syerscote, found it not very exciting. Juhan village is really close to riverwood, which is already heavily altered by ETaC and imho doesn't need more than that as riverwood is/was known to be (at least before the memory patch era) prone to crashes on itself. -
SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems
Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Yeah good points, I understand that. I guess I could provide more 'options' for people but I kind of consider my GPU already to be lower than what many would consider medium-end and I still can run the game at a playable minimum FPS (=32 or more). Also if you have to reduce exteriors to .5k then it might be worth considering whether it wouldn't be better to drop some more parts of the ENB. -
STEP extended, when to install Falskaar and Wyrmstooth?
Nearox replied to DapperDan's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well Skyfalls and Skymills overwrites Falskaar, I assumed the OP was going to install the falskaar version of that mod as well. -
SKYRIMLE Guide to run SRLE + REGS + ENB on Medium Systems
Nearox replied to Nearox's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
I'll try to elaborate a bit on my choices. I disagree about reducing SRO's normals to 512: it takes away too much detail observable in the distance and the savings in exteriors won't be that great as the difference between 1k and .5k textures is much smaller (in file size/vram) than the difference between 2k and 1k. It is, instead, a much better option, IMHO, to reduce Cabal's textures to 1k. In fact the last few mods Cabal released he included a 1k version himself. Think about it this way: A landscape, archtiecture or mountain texture can usualyl cover quite a large area on your screen. Compare the areasize of a ground texture with the area size of a piece of legs on your character or an NPC. Would it make more sense to have the landscape texture in a higher resolution than the armor texture? In am of the opinion that is the right choice to make. It is all about what you yourself notice more. If you are a huge fan of zooming in on armor and weapons, then by all means keep them at 2k. However if you would be playing the game in many situations you won't even think that it is a 1k texture, and when you do the difference between 1k and 2k is often negligible. Also, a full set of default AMB armor (e.g. steel or orcish) is between 25MB and 40MB. Now you have REGS on top of SRLE which adds a lot of NPCs many wearing different armor sets. On top of that is all the 2k clothing stuff from EoTW on regular NPCs. Then there are the uncompressed normals for the head and body msn from better males (worth 30MB vram per race per gender). See where I am going? With default SRLE option, 1 NPC generally accounts for 100MB VRAM+. If you got a more recent GPU with 3 or 4GB VRAM that is not really an issue of course. Many scenarios have NPCs that are the same and so only need to be loaded once (e.g. city guards). But many place have 10 or 20 'unique' looking NPCs, all wearing another armor set, having different racial characteristics, cloths, faces. That's 500MB VRAM at least in most city/town/village/battle scenarios for NPCs only. The DDSopt reduces that to 100 - 200MB for what I consider a minimal loss in quality and a huge gain in performance. Moreover it greatly reduced stuttering on my game. If you were to do the same to landscape/architecture/objects however, it would be much more noticeable while the reduction in VRAM would be much less. You can try it out, but I would strongly recommend against using .5k normals for landscape when gems and circlets are 1k... :) -

You can best install them before other mods (i.e. before fixes).
