whaaa? How did I end up with the link to More Snow?? Anyway, I agree vond with the more 'humanoid' look. I dislike that as well. I was actually refering to the slimy look and feel about them... For the actual bodies, I'd love a mod that changes their legs to be more like the Morrowind style legs (extra joint in it). I fixed the link, thanks frihyland. May I ask why Coverkhajiit is a stretch? It just makes better looking face textures for Khajiit, nothing else....

The only things on the wiki at the moment are the Wrye Bash, Installation, and Troubleshooting sections. Will this be expanded further later, as I'd love to help out? :)

Discussion thread: Better Beast Races by Xenius Wiki Link The STEP guide gives a nice mod for the main human bodies (XCE) but that mod doesn't touch Argonians and Khajiit (both of which I play as!). I'd like to propose that STEP consider Better Beast Races v2 to improve the Argonians. I loved the way the argonians looked in Skyrim. Best of any of the games in my opinion. However, BBR gives a more subdued slimy feel to their skin, which I believe is an improvement.

This mod [suspiciously] claims to lower performance loss from enb by quite a bit. It's called, HiAlgoBoost FPS Performance Accelerator with ENB support and says that it reduces quality during motion so that your performance jumps considerably. Has anyone tried this mod to see if it is actually helpful?

Installing performance version of SMIM
Spiffyman replied to doveman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I'm using the bash version of it, and it has an option for half-sized textures. Definitely use that. Also use the rings Lite version (the area where the rings coil around are still 2D while the exposed chain is 3D). I'm not sure how the normal version is organized... -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons

Were I to go the enb-only route, the weather mods I'd use are More Rain (66% vision) More Snow (150% vision) and Real Rain (or the Performance Rain if fps needs help during rain). -
Figures it's in the only part of the step guide I didn't read (I stopped at the z-fighting part in Technical hints). Guess this was a pointless thread then. :P

ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons

I know what you mean Neovalen :D I haven't actually played a proper game yet. I keep trying mods and searching for new ones. Though, since my game seems uber sensitive to conflicts, I've actually been trying to limit the mods I use. I have about 60 non-step mods now (which is apparently lower than many people) but I'm trying to trim it down. Anyway, I'm considering using just an enb and not RCRN at all. Even though I like some of the things RCRN does, there are a couple enb configs on the Nexus that look amazing to me (my link in a few posts above for example). I'm still debating that though, since RCRN does do some nice things. -
I have these two lines added to both my inis under [General]: fdefaultfov=80 fDefaultWorldFOV=80 However, those don't change my fov at all ingame. I have to open the console and type fov 80 every time I start the game. Anyone know know how to fix that?

Good Performance Hunting

If there no mod that dynamically controls view distances? I seem to remember things that did that for oblivion and Morrowind. Have it had high settings and if fps drops to 15 (for example) the view distances will lower to medium settings and switch back once the fps starts rising again (meaning the stressful scene is probably gone)? I would definitely use a mod like that for sure. It doesn't have to be exactly as I described it of course, just the concept... -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons
Spiffyman replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
So I found out something fantastic! Perhaps you'll spot it on the stone building in these screens: No enb use: https://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/Spiffyman777/Noenb.png Using enb: https://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/Spiffyman777/enb.png Notice how I get shadow striping without enb, but it's fixed with the Stoppingby4now's enb? Now, clearly this isn't definitive, but I was thinking that maybe using enb fixes shadow stiping elsewhere as well. Anyone else had similar experiences? -

I was looking on Nexus at enb mods and spotted this one: Next Generation https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15826 the screens on that page for 2.0 look really amazing to me. Makes me sad that my computer can't handle the other effects. It shows just how nice enb 111 can make the game look (at least, it looks good to me). -

Did you have the SSAO thing active? Because I tried that and it cut my fps in half. If it is active, turning it off gives a big bonus to performance. -
Well, since some interiors use exterior lighting, that's probably the issue. They are releasing 3.0.1 in a few hours that fixes a couple places, so they are definitely working on it.

I have an issue with ddsopt. I ran the 101Bugs mod through ddsopt and got back an interesting result. The original texture was 267kb and according to Irfanview is 640x620 pixels in size. The result of ddsopt is a 683kb file with 1024x512 size. What seems strange to me is the original wasn't in normal size formats I'm used to seeing (128,256,512, etc) so maybe ddsopt fixed it, but I'd like to make sure because that's a big change. Here are screens of both the textures to show what I mean Original: https://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/Spiffyman777/Wing-Original.jpg DDSOpt'd: https://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/Spiffyman777/Wing-ddsopt.jpg

you haven't? You really should. Without all the step stuff installed, I only got ~25 fps. After I installed everything, I jumped up to 45. I don't know why, but Step helped my fps. So you really should install it all :D I'll ask on the bethesda forums to see if anyone there has the issue...
-
Anyone else get the issue where starting or continuing a game freezes and only fixes if you minimize and re-maximize? it's definitely caused by enb for me.
-
Thanks for fixing those links Vond. Could the issue be with enb 111? I use Stoppingby4now's enbseries.ini for just the shadow change, but maybe it added brightness?
-
Alright, I have RCRN with a nice ~35 fps (on medium settings) and I now have a question. On the cart ride something bothered me. I took a screenshot in the shade (https://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/Spiffyman777/shade.jpg) and in the sunlight (https://i391.photobucket.com/albums/oo351/Spiffyman777/no-shadebright.jpg). In game, the bright one looked even brighter, so that a lot more of the wood was shinier (the screenshot was probably a second later than when I tried to show it at the brightest moment). Is RCRN supposed to make things THAT bright? Is that bloom or what exactly?
-
So, magically my pc gained 2x the fps. Before I only installed up to the RCRN step when I tried it and got 20 fps without rcrn. After finishing the whole install plus a few of my mods, I now get 40 fps. No clue why but I'll take it. So now I can use RCRN :)
-
If anyone creates a configuration for RCRN that takes away all the heavy parts, let me know since I am going to wait on v3 until then. For now I'll just use Imaginator to change light settings.
-
I agree, I really like More Rain and More Snow a lot. I don't know about RCRN's weather, but it would have to be really amazing to beat those two.
-
This mod says it might not work well with Realistic lighting (and very likely RCRN) if you use the reduced view versions because of the fog. What are your experiences with that?
-
alright, thanks TheCompiler :)
-
Will your old addon work for the new v3? Your addon is what allows me to use RCRN, since the regular 2.1 version has a big fps hit for me (not sure how big for v3 as I haven't installed it yet)
