SKYRIMLE Duke Patricks - Heavy Weapons Combat
Spiffyman replied to Bealdwine's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Does anyone else use ACE? It has a new Realistic Fighting module that might be a little bit difficult to use with DP's mod. I'm wondering if they'd work well together. I use everything else in ACE, so I figure I could use that as well :) -
SKYRIMLE Improved Fish - New Fish - More Spawning by Blitz54
Spiffyman replied to MadWizard25's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'm sad that I haven't gotten far enough to look for these fish. I have yet to start a real game :P The anticipation of jumping in a river and seeing *life* is getting to me :D -
I actually didn't see any shadows, but then again, I was kind of distracted by the new thing. The log has some driver info stuff and then this: 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:25 vs_2_0 05/18/12 11:46:32 File c:\hiab\projects\hialgo1\IDirect3DDevice9_wrapper.h, Line: 722 05/18/12 11:46:33 File c:\hiab\projects\hialgo1\IDirect3DDevice9_wrapper.h, Line: 722 Those last 2 lines are repeated over and over. Easily over 100 lines of the same Line: 722 thing... EDIT: okay, back in game, I didn't see any shadows at all. However, the weird effect seems to show fire and smoke when in the lighter parts, when in the darker parts of the effect the smoke goes away. But never any shadows...

I have ATI, so I could use that ATI tray tools that Vond mentioned, but if enb works, that's just much simpler.

Hm. The new safe mod doesn't work for me. I have done Safe mode (with/without enb_mode) and safe mode1 (with/without enb_mode) and neither of them fixed the glitchy-ness with fog or lighting. I did get a new effect with safemod +enb_mode though. Have a look :) that effect kinda jumps around as I move...

torminator: I tried the default settings with the new 112 version and it was bad :P So I took Stoppingby4now's Ini and replaced the 112 one with that. It's much better now :) EDIT: I also don't use a shadow striping mod anymore because enb fixed that perfectly for me. Does anyone know if it's safe to use enb's fps limiter? I've heard it's unstable, but I could be wrong...

SKYRIMLE Project Parallax - Rocks and Mountains
Spiffyman replied to skwareballz's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I am not going to try this one, as the pages says you will take a hit on fps with it. The Whiterun (and new solitude) say there is minimal performance loss. I'd guess that's because these are rock textures, used all over the place, but I don't really know. -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons
Spiffyman replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I posted something earlier (not sure where) and the responses sounded like you could only do one proxy. If you needed more, the Injector version of enb is a better option. That way you can have 1 d3d9 and a proxy d3d9 + the enb Injector. If I misunderstood the responses, than I could very well be wrong. :| -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons
Spiffyman replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Hm. Maybe my issue is related to the one you posted. I can't seem to get bloom without turning UseOriginalPostProcessing to FALSE. EDIT: I might have to give up on that. Once I do that, the trees become semi-transparent (this is with vanilla skyrim with only enb, no STEP). You DoF is my favorite so far though. -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons

Should I download your enb for RCRN and place the .fx files in the skyrim directory? Also, is your light dof also light on fps as well? Because I'd like to try yours (regular dof's are very strong, which I don't like to use while playing). -
ENB 110 Shadow Comparisons
Spiffyman replied to stoppingby4now's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Well, I've tried a couple of enb, and didn't like how they made everything so colorful. I mean, it looked nice, but I really like the somber look of the normal game. So I think I'll stick with Stoppingby4now's shadow's only enb, and try to add a soft bloom to that. I'd like a subtle DoF but I think that is a performance heavy feature so I'll shy away from it. Do you know how to get a subtle bloom? Just setting bloom to =true doesn't seem to do much of anything for me... -

NEovalen, did you try the Next Generation enb 2.0 beta that uses enb 111 kage? -
I posted this in the bethsoft forums as well, but I thought I'd put it here as well: Alright, I tried it with another enb mod. I put this one as proxy in it, and I made Script dragon a proxy in your ini. So everything should be set up correctly now. This time, I have the glitchy fog again. I also have the lighting issues again, with a screenshots. Without Algoboost With Algoboost The aura effect has been fixed, but now shadows are a problem again. My first attempt at the mod had an enb and it too had lighting issues. My second time I removed the enb, but had the aura issue. This time, with enb, I had lighting issues but no aura. I'm guessing that the enb affects how this mod touches shadows (and lighting). I'm going to remove my enb this time and try it with just the Hialgoboost to see if I get the auras again... EDIT: okay I've done that. The fog is fixed without enb. The lighting and shadows are fixed again as well, but the aura has returned (as well as the artifacting screen edges).

Candle Flame Disappearing With Distance
Spiffyman replied to Neovalen's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I could very well be wrong, but wouldn't the Light Fade Setting in the Skyrim launcher fix this? If you raise it higher, it would raise the distance lights are shown. -
DROPPED Skyrim Performance PLUS (by VirusType2 aka Vergis)
Spiffyman replied to z929669's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'll add my voice that these be at least mentioned in STEP. Or maybe if a STEP performance page were created on the wiki, these should definitely go there -
So we should avoid running foliage mods though ddsopt for now than?

Okay, there I'd say use the Reduced Textures before you even try that one! Vond, I left everything at default and my did not change unless I turned. I ran around so much running into away from and beside wall trying to see if I could notice a change, but nothing unless I turned. My screen res is lower than yours so that may contribute to why I don't see the big changes you do. I also play on Medium settings, but I don't think that affects textures since it still sets textures to high, but that could be it too.

oh! A template, fantastic! I'll definitely try to help out with mod pages.

Okay, I actually tested this (though I uninstalled RCRN and my enb shadows stuff). It only reduces quality when you turn. On my screen (and with my bad eyesight!), when I turn, the world is already blurred until I stop turning (unless i do so slowly, of course). With that in mind, the reduction of quality wasn't even noticed by me during the turning since I don't see everything crystal clear anyway. There is a brief moment after you stop that you might catch the change back if you are close to something though. I really did help my fps (which is amazing since I need it). That said, this mod would probably be most useful during a fight when there is a lot of movement going on since that's where fps will drop (and this will partly counteract that drop). I only fought the Helgen people during the beginning and I didn't see any issues like a 90's looking blocky face. There is only 1 thing that annoys me. There is a watermark of the mod's name in the top right corner. I'm sure it could be removed via the ini, but I didn't look in that at all (which, incidentally is also where you'd make enb series work with this. But I believe only 1 can be used, so either RCRN or enb, unless proxy allows for several proxies.
