  1. yep second looks more fuller and, imho, better
  2. Discussion thread: Paarthurnax Dilemma by Arthmoor Wiki Link Arthmoor has released a Paarthurnax mod which based on the description does more than the other mods, including the one in STEP. Given the author it is also more likely to be bug free. Have not tested as not that far into the game but may be worth swapping to Arthmoor's from the one currently in STEP.
  3. The creation engine itself afaik. iirc it occurred in oblivion as well, cannot recall whether it happened in morrowind I am pretty sure it happens in vanilla as well so do not believe it is mod related.
  4. from further down in that thread it looks like they are going to change the folder structure again so probably worth holding off until they settle on the final structure
  5. See this post on main wyre forum thread regarding upgrading from 295.5 or 296 to current svn: post Essentially need to rearrange folders as structure of WB changing slightly to accommodate different game versions, and may change further to fix some other issues
  6. re: Update to use header tabs on wiki - last tab about creating BCFs has lots of other unrelated headings underneath, eg install order, load order, ini tweaks. Can there be more than 1 line of header tabs, if not may need to restructure guide to fit
  7. thanks fri that worked, although it was the skyrim file from previous SVN. @ Vond - by 24 i meant in the bashed patch report that lists what it changed. Lowe right corner said 56/58, now says 53/58 as 3 mods were merged into bashed patch. Thanks for your help
  8. ok I have 3 esps Boss marks with relev / delev:- USKP - 101 bugs - skyrim coin replacer (delev only) Only 101bugs is included in the bash patch levelled list per GUI report - using latest SVN 2376. Is there a reason it is not picking up the other 2? EDIT: It also only shows 24 mods as "active mods" when I have 54 esps ticked (including jaysus swords esm excluding skryim and update) - is this normal? Bashed patch is at bottom of load order
  9. Thanks will check tonight but iirc the Bash Tags window was empty on a mod that BOSS tagged with Delev / Relev - does BOSS add this detail to the mod in WB or does the mod author need to do it?
  10. maybe a stupid question but are you using 64 bit version of DDSOpt rather than 32bit (iirc it had two versions) - would this account for the slowness and using less resources?
  11. I have had a similar issue as Neovalen in terms of no levelled list changes. Issue with SVN from early April when first installed WB and also on SVN from late last week (at work so dont have SVN number). Tags were reported in BOSS report in browser but iirc did not seem to get applied to mod in WB. I also tried manually adding and it didn't seem to work. Will try again and see what happens
  12. For grey lines look at the skipped tab for the mod (top right) and see if you care about any of the files shown there. For me most are image files and text files that skyrim doesn't need. If there are files you need then need to find a BCF or repack as a BAIN yourself - see WB guide ion wiki.
  13. Only need to add HD DLC to inis if you have as bsa files and do not want to load via esp in load order. So if you have installed loose files then can use normal ini and untick two HD DLC esp files
  14. see my response in nexus thread to second q
  15. but Mo supports BAINs so you should use the automated install for SMIM in MO and then check the boxes you want
  16. In MO you can have all the esps installed and then go into the info window for that mod (double click) and in the esp tab you can make them not show up in load order by moving the esps you do not want to use to top box. iirc the only issue is that if you update the mod within MO (ie rather than uninstall and reinstall) then you get multiple versions of those esps as MO doesn't remember that it moved them. Although that was on older versions of MO so may have been changed by now.
  17. Ok after a fair bit of testing I still get CTD at Dawnstar and seemingly nowhere else after running around the skyrim countryside and fast travelling etc for an hour or two. Every time I go to dawnstar I CTD except one time my shadows were borked (likely from too much alt-tabbing to see VRAM in GPU-Z or ini files having a few instances of 2 lines on one row) and it didn't crash and VRAM was down about 750 due to no shadows. I uninstalled SkyrimHD and changed a couple of other exterior mods to lower resolutions. VRAM is generally still in 1100-1200's (on a 1280 GTX 570) and frequently at 1250 in various places without CTD. Does not appear to be a VRAM spike in Dawnstar. Changed exteriorcellbuffer to 100 on ugrids 7 and still no issues anywhere but Dawnstar. Tried other towns in skyrim worldspace eg Morthal and no issues. On these settings seems to run smoother apart from some stutters on cell transitions. Rest is pretty much full STEP install with optimized vanilla and DLC textures. So beats me why i CTD at Dawnstar but looks to be unrelated to your issue.
  18. yep just worked that out... you were too quick for me, now deleting my post looks silly
  19. ok I have reinstalled STEP and am getting repeatable CTD at Dawnstar, either on fast travel there or fast travel there and then run into town, either towards Jarl's place or the harbour.I had this on the old STEP and thought it was save game corruption. However, when I reinstalled and ran vanilla skyrim only I could run around Dawnstar without issues. Now on new STEP issues are back. Apart from mods only change was ini tweak to decals. So seems one of the mods is causing this. Just posting in case that helps anyone. EDIT: Realised i hadn't run BOSS after reinstall, and none of the esps were loaded, so would seem to be an issue with a mod file rather than an esp EDIT2: mheh VRAM limit hit per GPU-Z - whole time just outside dawnstar when 2 dragons attacked at mid-1200s and have 1280MB, crashed when went in to dawnstar.
  20. oops my bad, i meant any reason for not installing ddsopt'd loose files as a 7zip file via WB (not compressing back into a bsa).
  21. I have skyrim on DVD and had HRDLC backed up so it was only the updates that had to download. My issue was that i had 'unplugged' steam (well vanilla skyrim only) and forgot that it needed to be 'plugged' back in before verifying local cache, deleting local files and reinstalling skyrim. As I had already deleted local files when i realised this skyrim unplugged wouldn't plug steam back in without some adjustments, then steam tried to download as I still had a vanilla file present to get unplugged to work. After all that it worked fine but then it was time for bed once it had finished reinstalling and updating :) What should have been a few minutes to verify local cache turned into a couple of hours :( All my own fault! However, it did give me a chance to clean out some leftovers from previous mods
  22. Any reason you didn't install ddsopt'd vanilla texture.bsa via WB? I have done this so just checking if there was a reason you didn't
  23. It took most of last night to reinstall skyrim due to me stupidly forgetting about skyrim unplugged. So will let you know how I go tonight
  24. It may be worth adding to the troubleshooting guide how to enable updates with skyrim unplugged after local files are deleted. I forgot to do this before verifying local files and couldn't work out why steam didn't replace the missing files (strings file removed by uninstalling better sorting in my case). Then why it wouldn't install after deleting local files! Then when tried to enable via skyrim unplugged it had unhandled exceptions. replaced TESV.exe but it also wanted the Interface folder and Strings folder which I had backed up before uninstalling, not sure if it wanted any particular files in those folders. Oh and then it wouldn't reinstall from DVD and started downloading skyrim, because I hadn't deleted TESV.exe. Once I deleted that it would install from DVD. Took me a while to work this out!
  25. I had that last night on first run with new STEP, a freeze outside Riften. I had it previously but that was caused by SoS Wilds. I uninstalled all mods and vanilla is fine. I am now having an issue with WB thinking vanilla skyrim is missing a strings file although steam has verified local cache so one I reinstall skyrim and reinstall I will let you know if still get it.
