0 hishutup Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 for a cpu... I would say 99% work period.If there are issues its likely to be motherboard, psu, ram, user error. If it is the cpu then take it up with the distributer. that being said I built 3 pc... I dont do profession work

If you talk with customer service with Newegg, they'll usually waive the shipping cost and eat it themselves if you're nice about it. Just tell them you don't think it makes any since to have to pay more for a product that doesn't work just to get what you paid for and they'll usually waive it and email you a shipping label. They did it for me multiple time on a hard drive. If it breaks later on and didn't void the warranty by doing something you shouldn't have been doing, the just deal with the manufacture. Most are pleasant. Western Digital is so easy its like a dream. Everything is handled on they're website. No need to even talk to anyone. Accidental warranty would cover accidents like spills, drops, etc. Extended is just like the manufacture's warranty but just extended for a few years past when the manufacture warranty expires.

I have been buying everything on sale and would have saved more cash. I received my Gigabyte 980 , SAMSUNG 850 Pro Series 512GB SSD, and Corsair Obsidian 750D a couple weeks ago. The case is a lil bigger than I pictured in my head but very nice. All I have left to buy is my MB, Ram and CPU. This is my first build so I took apart my old computer and put it together in this case for practice. Now if only I can get control panel to see my new SSD. Bios seems to see it but not control panel. I'm also not sure what Operating system to get. I don't mean the7 or 8.1 version but the full version or OEM version

If the stuff was DOA then you are obviously covered anyway but if you think you might be unlucky enough to screw it up during installation then you can elect to take the insurance at the time of purchase. When I was building a water-cooled system, I took it since it explicitly mentioned water damage. I was also removing air coolers from the GPU and fitting a water block. If you take "reasonable" precautions, then they will just RMA and refund if you kill otherwise perfectly healthy kit during the cover period. When I built a small NAS, I was just assembling air-cooled components without modification so I did not take the cover and relied on the standard warranty. The EU has more robust consumer protection than, say, the States and this can be relied on to protect you if items are DOA.
