I like the Dawnguard helmets - they have character!

Have you looked at

Patch for Winter Is Coming - Cloaks of Skyrim - Fur Hoods by Khamuy (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24238)

and

Fur Hoods HD by Northborn (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/3201)

or maybe

Winter Is Coming - Cloaks by Nivea (https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/13486)

Even if these don't have what you want one of these authors might be able to make what you want.

If you find a hood you like, simply rename its mesh and its file location to match the Dawngaurd helmet you want to replace. Install the textures it requires normally (your new mesh will point to the new textures). if you find the one you want to use as a replacer let me know and I can walk you through the steps of doing it - it's very simple.

Oh I was really just trying to get the effects of the full armor I finally gave it up as a bad job and used a Leather Black Wolf Skin Helmet instead and used the Dawnguard Light Armor for the rest. The Dawnguard Light Helmet just looks derpy to me. Now if I were playing a melee character I'd like the Dawnguard Full Helm.Apart from being Derpy looking the Light Helmet shows too much neck for my tastes.

That's why I was saying to rename the meshes. Just copy the Leather Black Wolf Skin Helmet mesh into folder with the Dawnguard helmet and rename the Leather Black Wolf Skin Helmet mesh - this will allow you to get the same game effect of a Dawnguard helmet but it will look like the Leather Black Wolf Skin Helmet.
