Quinnbeast Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) Good to see a local band (Chvrches) getting some love on here. Iain Cook was previously in a band with his now manager, collectively going by the name of Aereogramme. Different kind of music altogether, met them a few times when they were touring circa 2002. Glad to see Chvrches going well for themselves. Edited September 5, 2015 by Quinnbeast
Guest Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) That was for the Drive rescore I think. It replaced Nightcalll by Kavinsky. Next up this: Terminator inspired song: Edited September 5, 2015 by Guest
dreadflopp Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) I love chvrches, their debut album was my favorite record of last year. I believe it was released in 2013 but I didn't hear it until last year. Here is a Swedish band with some nice 80's sounding synths: https://youtu.be/reX1OHI1m_Q And to change genre a bit, another Swedish band that's a little more punk: @octupuss, I love arch enemies record khaos legions. Haven't listened to their other records, I don't usually listen to much metal. Edited September 5, 2015 by dreadflopp
z929669 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I like most music (exceptions: contemporary country & hip-hop) and appreciate contrast:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEC8nqT6Rrkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_7TMeDTX_U
n0mad23 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Miles Davis rules. Gave my daughter her first Miles CD when she was 8 - no looking back for her now, and her trumpet playing reflects it (11 years later)! For you Dub heads, this is pretty cool. I was just alerted to its existence, and find it all very flattering. I did an internet radio stream back in 2014 and apparently it inspired this: Fortress of The Rebel Soul by Big Wave Records. https://bigwaverecords.bandcamp.com/album/fortress-of-the-rebel-soul Streaming and available for download - can't beat the price! Freebie musick!
z929669 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Nice, will check it out. IMHO, all music should be freely made and freely used. It is our duty as humans to create it and share it and enjoy it. hats off to the musicians that advocate this and make it possible.
phazer11 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Just remembered this song. I like it better than the original in some ways though I was looking for a good quality version of the original since I don't have a copy of it on my disk.

Guest Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) Love this as it sounds like a Western song, or something that should have been in Red Dead: Synthwave stuff: Sadly I couldn't find the Carpenter Brut remix for the former, but the song ain't bad anyway. echo451 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I am blown away again. This is a very cool find. The thread. Well everything in the thread. A small contribution.
n0mad23 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I bought this CD only a few months ago, and find I just can't get enough of it. Those On-U-Soundsystem chaps are something else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJz20oiwSXIOne from my own personal archives - this one was an experiment in Ambient Dub Field Recordings. You've got to admit that baby's giggle is highly infectious. "The Examined Life - Jumping into the Waters Mix" - by n0mad23 https://soundcloud.com/n0mad23/the-examined-life-jumping-into
phazer11 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 So. This music video changed my day. At first I was only listening to it from my library but I decided to look the video up, and man does it change things. I guess I kind of glossed over a few things after it had assimilated itself so well into my library. If you don't know Japanese (or aren't conversational) I recommend enabling captions for at least some better understanding. Even if you don't understand it I think the beat and such are good enough for ambiance.
Guest Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Wat. That's even more terrible than Gangnam Style and I thought nothing would beat that. I assume you know about this Phazer? https://www.gamecity.ne.jp/doax3/ Will buy for research purposes and joke gift.
