Figured it might not be a bad idea to just start a general SR support thread for help since the feedback thread is focused on actual SR feedback. I'll start this off.

 

So was playing earlier today, then went and made today's latest changes:

 

- Updated Lanterns of Skyrim to use Realistic Lighting Overhaul optional preset.

- Added SkyTEST - Realistic Animals and Predators. Removed More Village Animals and Roosters At Dawn

- Updated Apahii Skyhair Natural Retexture.

 

I also added Grass on Steroids and it's associated INI changes.

 

I now CTD every time on the menu load. I reversed the INI changes, unloaded SkyTest and Grass on Steroids and still CTD.

 

What would be the first steps I should in debugging this?

Um... Dynamic Snow and Quality Snowflakes turned on? This log really is vexing me it doesn't seem to be telling me anything useful. Got it to freeze at the same spot this time (although I did remove SkyTest after Aiyen and I got to discussing it).

 

Here's the new log.

many plugins can't find dawnguard.esm, dragonborn.esm

are you using DLC's?

 

Use search and find what mod contains script *gypsyeyescaravan_mobile* (name can be longer) and deactivate it.

Convient horses autoloot feature spams errors, disable it(feature, or uninstall - install mod). may be CH wasn't properly initialised on new game start -it was fault of previous version.

Oh I know which mod it is and it's Gypsy Eyes Caravan portable player home. It may be convenient horses though I am using v4.6. I get the freeze issue even with Gypsy Eyes turned off so if it's one of them I'll try updating convenient horses.

if to look in your papyrus.log Gypsy Eyes Caravan script errors are last before freeze. try your freeze place without this mod in new game (coc in console to nearest place and run to "cursed ground":))

Cursed ground that place has a name? Ok though humor me if this does fix this replicatable freeze am I going to have to leave logging enabled for the inevitable random wilderness freeze I get either on foot or on horseback?

you can leave logging enabled, it's harmless, but disable trace and engine won't search for lines of troublesome scripts. 

 

PS by cursed ground I mean place where you freezing with very high chance.

Leaving papyrus logging enabled all the time is just a bad idea. At least in my experience. It causes slowdowns and a higher likelihood of issues. Logging every single script in a script intensive mod list does require a bit extra of the CPU. Freezes are normally because something happens in the execution of scripts. By adding logging you just add more stuff the game engine must do... which is counter productive since this is most likely what is the issue in the first place. 

 

There is only a point in having logging on if you have a reproduceable freeze/CTD, or an area where you can produce one with an extremely high probability.

I am having problems with running skyproc patchers through MO. It works fine to run them on their own and it also works fine to run them through MO, the problem is that patcher can only see the files from its own package. For example when i run SUM the program in it self works fine but i cant see any other packages, or if I run the AV patcher I can only see the three packages that are included in the AV mod (Bellyaches Animals, InsanitySorrow, Sounaipr AV Ports) but no others. I am running the patcher through MO as instructed in the guide.

 

I have carefully followed the guide. When I installed the AV mods and dual sheath I installed them just like any other mods, and I can see in the "data tab" that all the file structure seems good (for example in "SkyProc Patchers\Automatic Variants\AV Packages" StarX AV Package exists). I am running  Java SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_21-b11) on a Windows 8 machine. I have also checked all the troubleshooting here https://afterimagemetal.com/SkyProc/SUM%20Readme.html#troubleshooting

 

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

Try the following without MO on:

 

1. Navigate to you actual skyrim\Data directory. If it has a SkyProc folder delete it (unless you did something wrong there should not be one)

2. Navigate to your MO\overwrite directory and delete the *.esp(s) associated with SkyProc (example SUM.esp).

3. In your overwrite directory is a "textures" folder that should only contain your AV textures. You might want to check, but delete it anyways.

4. In your overwrite directory is a "SkyProc Patchers" directory. Delete it.

5. Depending on your version of Windows navigate to your directory where the actual skyrim ini files are saved. In my case this is "Documents\My Games\Skyrim". There you will file a SkyProc folder. Delete it.

 

Because AV moved your files from their installed directories into your MO\overwrite directory you will have to reinstall all the AV packages using MO and selecting REPLACE when doing so. I am not 100% certain but I do not believe you need to re-install Dual Sheath Redux or SUM, just the AV packages (someone correct me if I am wrong). Make sure that in MO they are in their proper positions (ie Automatic Variants should be first). When finished, run SUM again. For me, sometimes this fails the first time I run due to missing masters if a made changes to other mods, however, running it again fixes it. This should not be a problem for you as you deleted all the SkyProc folders in your Documents directory and MO\overwrite directory. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. However I am afraid it didn't work. I did manage to get to get it working, although it was very ugly. My problem seems to stem from running any kind of patcher through MO. I don't think my AV patcher worked either. When i run the AV patcher through MO it show the progress bar for like 2 seconds and then says it is finished and no texture folder or any esp is created in the overwrite folder. I wonder if a reason might be that i am not using the default location for mod folder or download folder in MO, or if it all boils down to windows 8. I did give MO admin privileges (couldn't start it otherwise), but I can't force any .jar file to have admin privs, so I wonder if that might be a problem.

 

Anyway I did manage to get it working by simply installing it manually with wrye bash, its not pretty but it works. And since I can't find a solution to the problem i think ill settle with my current solution (unless someone knows its a very bad idea).

 

I later also managed to install SkyRe + ASIS with this method which made me quite content.

Good news.

Book of Silence was updated and the skyforgeweapons.esp was redone so it plays friendly with all mods it previously conflicted with (I checked).

This allows us to skip all TES5EDIT stuff when messing with this esp and reduces our patches by 1, good games.

YAAY! :D I solved my problem with SkyProc patchers not working in MO. You can not change the mods folder for MO if you want to work SkyProc patchers. The mods folder must be "...\ModOrganizer\mods" (as per default). Prehaps this should be added to the guide, so anyone else can avoid making the same mistake as me :)

Interesting, and good to hear you solved your problem Annon. Wonder if a junction would work as well for that purpose?

 

SkyUI 3.4 is suddenly giving me error messages about my Papyrus INI settings being wrong. I don't understand why this is, seeing as I've reverted all INIs with Papyrus settings in them to default. Highly irritating.

Could somebody explain to me how I revert to a skeleton with chesko's quiver placement, but vanilla style one-handed weapons and daggers?

 

I already installed the different versions of XPMS, Immersive animations and Dual sheath redux, reran the SUM patcher and FNIS. The animations are correct, but my blade is still on my back!

 

OK, whenever I install any version of XPMS the onehanded blades get put on the back, although I've deactivated all other mods having sth to do with this and I started a new game!!!

 

EDIT: WTF?!?!?! Ok, any other skeleton replacer will work, but whatever I try: Using XMPS skeleton replacers always result in swords on back NO matter what I'm trying...

Neo, please help, it's 4 am here and I'm getting desperate...

Forgive if I am wrong, but does not Duel Sheath Redux put your blade(s) on your back?
