I'm getting an error "Fatal: Could not find ini" when running the textgen.exe. I did move my Steam and MO folders to a different hard drive a few weeks ago and am just now updating my Skyrim mod list. I'm having trouble finding out how to fix this, does anyone have ideas?

Maybe I'm missing something, but after downloading the SE version of DynDOLOD from the OP, yet both versions of DynDOLOD look for original Skyrim, and refuses to interact with Skyrim SE. The following error is thrown:

Fatal: Could not open registry key: \SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Skyrim\
This can happen after Steam updates, run game's launcher to restore registry settings.
Verify game is starting in the desired game mode.

And the log is:

[00:00:00.054]    DynDOLOD based on xEdit x64 (3D42BB5F) starting session 2018-12-26 22:07:18

Hi, new here, I was trying to configure DynDOLOD for the first time but came across this problem where TexGen could not figure out the correct folder for the .ini files, this is the log:

[00:00:00.075] TexGen based on xEdit x64 (9A03A046) starting session 2019-08-06 13:04:43

\    \ was used just for safety, just in case. Anyways I have tried launching the game through the launcher by it still goes to the Skyrim folder that does not exist intend of the Skyrim Special Edition folder. Anyway to get the to work or anyway to change the file path to go to the Special Edition folder manually? Thanks.

Add the -sse command line argument to start the tools in Skyrim Speciial Edition as explained in the included manuals, like DynDOLOD_QuickStart.html or docs/DynDOLOD_Manual_SSE.html

Having a very similar problem i guess but mine is way shorter so something is up..

[00:00:00.073] TexGen based on xisEdit x64 (0D13DDD8) starting session 2019-11-26 20:56:12
[00:00:00.080] Using Skyrim Special Edition Data Path:
[00:00:00.084] Using Scripts Path: D:\Games\VR\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SkyrimVR\DynDOLOD\Edit Scripts\
[00:00:00.088] Using Cache Path:

[00:00:00.099] Using ini:
[00:00:00.104] Fatal: Could not find ini

Is all i am getting. the Scirpts Path is correct for the location of my game but the Temp Path has nothing in it and not sure what it is trying to do there.

I've ran the game multiple times and still nothing..both the SKSEvr and regular SkyrimVR.exe files..watched hours of videos for install and it seemed fairly simple..i mean not as easy as any other mod but not to difficult to follow. Still this has been giving me problems all day.

The first window that pops up before that log above says:

Fatal: Could not open registry key: \SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softwords\Skyrim Special Edition\

This can happen after Steam updates, run the game's launcher to restore registry settings

Verify game is starting in the desired game mode. Current mode: SSE

sorry for the 2nd post...wouldn't let me edit it again :)

nvm i'm an idiot...didn't put TES5VR in the shortcut target...put -sse instead

Hi There,

I just install Enderal via steam, and I would like to run Dyndolod. I first manually install Dyndolod Standalone 2.76 in Data (Enderal) Folder. Then I installed DynDolod ressources 2.75 in the same folder (Data). Then I try to run TexGen (not Texgen64), but I get this error :

Fatal: Could not find ini C:\Users\win10\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini

My question is : Do I need skyrim ini really (skyrim is even not installed anymore since I play SE edition) ??

Is it not possible to get Dyndolod running without Skyrim ?

Is there any guide available for Dyndolod on Enderal ? I can't find any on Google. I mean A guide step by step with clear information. I am sorry but Dyndolod is always tricky and impressive for me, even after 8 years of modding ! :(

Read the manual included in the standalone archive. Read all message of the log carefully.

Start with DynDOLOD_QuickStart.html and continue with docs/DynDOLOD_Manual.html, especially the Enderal section under "Custom Settings For Specific Mods".

From the DynDOLOD Standalone archive copy the content of the 'DynDOLOD' folder, which contains the files DynDOLOD.exe, TexGen.exe, DynDOLOD_QuickStart.html and the sub folders 'Docs' and 'Edit Scripts' with all their content into a new 'DynDOLOD' folder outside of special OS folders like 'Programs Files' or 'Program Files (x86)', the SteamApps or game folders and Mod Organizers virtual file structure. Do not mix with old versions or xEdit/xLODGen installation.

Add -enderal as a command line parameter to DynDOLOD.exe/DynDOLODx64.exe or TexGen.exe/TexGenx64.exe to start the tools in Enderal mode in case the Steam version is used.

Ok thanks, I will have a look at this tomorrow, now it is too late (00h15) to play with this kind of things for me :)

...I don't have any idea of how to do this. I have tried in properties and add -enderal after the.exe, not working. And create a shortcut, in target line add -enderal...fail too. How you do this ? I mean where ?

Read DynDOLOD_QuickStart.html and docs/DynDOLOD_Manual.html, especially the Enderal section under "Custom Settings For Specific Mods".

When using the Steam version of Enderal - the installation path is '..SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Enderal\' - add -enderal as a command line parameter to DynDOLOD.exe/DynDOLODx64.exe or TexGen.exe/TexGenx64.exe to start the tools in Enderal mode. See DynDOLOD-Shortcut.txt for help.

Continue with reading the mentioned Docs\DynDOLOD-Shortcut.txt

If the DynDOLOD-Shortcut.txt does not help, refer to the documentation for your OS or mod manager in case the tools need to be started from the mod manager.

Hey there, Sheson,

I'm having the following issue: When I try to run DynDOLOD.exe for Skyrim SE I get the following error:

unbenannt5nsjrs.png

... followed by:

[00:00:00.048] DynDOLOD based on xEdit x64 (1AC6DFDF) starting session 2020-04-17 17:39:01
[00:00:00.051] Game Mode: TES5
[00:00:00.053] Game Name: Skyrim
[00:00:00.055] Using Skyrim Data Path:
[00:00:00.056] Using Scripts Path: C:\Games\DynDolod\Edit Scripts\
[00:00:00.058] Using Cache Path:
[00:00:00.061] Using Temp Path: C:\Users\Marina\AppData\Local\Temp\TES5Edit\
[00:00:00.063] Using ini:
[00:00:00.065] Fatal: Could not find ini

I take it that I need to change my game mode but how can I achieve this?

Many thanks in advance!

Read the "Installation" section in the DynDOLOD_QuickStart.html which explains which command line argument to add for which game version.

By default the tools start in Skyrim mode, which is the same as adding the -tes5 command line parameter. Add -sse as a command line parameter to DynDOLOD.exe/DynDOLODx64.exe or TexGen.exe/TexGenx64.exe to start the tools in Skyrim Special Edition mode. Add -tes5vr as a command line parameter to DynDOLOD.exe/DynDOLODx64.exe or TexGen.exe/TexGenx64.exe to start the tools in Skyrim VR mode. Add -enderal as a command line parameter to DynDOLOD.exe/DynDOLODx64.exe or TexGen.exe/TexGenx64.exe to start the tools in Enderal mode in case the Steam version is used. See DynDOLOD-Shortcut.txt for help.
