Question

Posted

Hi everyone, I've been using DynDOLOD for years and have been using 3.0 for awhile with no issues,  I updated to the newest DynDOLOD 3.0 and the newest DynDOLOD SE Resources 3 today and after uninstalling both the old versions and installing the new, ran TEXGEN64x for SSE with no issues and installed that into my data folder, now when I run DynDOLOD64x SSE it keeps telling me

"required resource file not found meshes\lod\imperial\helgenstoneblock01_lod_0.nif, make sure to install the latest DynDOLOD standalone with matching DynDOLOD resource se archive."

But I've tried reinstalling both again and it keeps giving me that error. Any ideas? I'm not sure what to do at this point. Sorry if this is a common or simple fix.

Turns out i had two versions installed and one of them was old! So sorry! However, now i am getting another error. https://paste.ee/p/5THgg

Read the first post which debug log to also upload when making posts.

Read the plain English error message that tells you what the problem is and its solution:
Error: Required resource file not found meshes\dyndolod\lod\clutter\slighthousefire_dyndolod_lod.nif. Make sure to install the latest DynDOLOD Standalone with the latest matching DynDOLOD Resources SE archive. Make sure the archives downloaded and installed completely.

As explained on the first post, the message should show click on this link for additional explanations and help for this message. On that page read https://dyndolod.info/Help/DynDOLOD-Resources#Troubleshooting

Really follow the already provided links and really download the latest DynDOLOD Resources SE 3 alpha version.

You mean you entered argreatwelkyndstonestatic01 .nif in the filter field of the Asset Browser and it didn't find it anywhere?

Usually that means the file does not exist in the data path (loose and not in any BSA). It should at least exist at in meshes\creationclub\bgssse067\clutter\greatwelkyndstone\argreatwelkyndstonestatic01.nif in ccbgssse067-daedinv.bsa

If the Asset Browser also does not show the file being available at meshes\creationclub\_shared\dungeons\ayleidruins\interior\argreatwelkyndstonestatic01.nif, then at least it os consistent. Double check the file exists or not with the MO2 "Explore Virtual Folder" executable.

Enable debug logging in MO2 Tools/Settings/Diagnostics, after starting DynDOLOD, there should be a line similar to

[D] hook_GetFileAttributesW [lpFileName=C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\meshes\creationclub\_shared\dungeons\ayleidruins\interior\argreatwelkyndstonestatic01.nif] [reroute.fileName()=C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE\mods\DynDOLOD Resources SE\Meshes\creationclub\_shared\dungeons\ayleidruins\interior\argreatwelkyndstonestatic01.nif] [res=820] [originalError=0] [fixedError=0]

FOUND THE ISSUE!! Looking in the MO2 debug log for that line, I found it, but weirdly the line cut off like so: '...argreatwelkyndstonestatic01.ni', missing the last F in the filename and putting no other information. Which made me wonder if my very long mod name was the issue... and it was  I had been putting all the FOMOD options I pick in mod names so when I reinstall I can know what to choose, and I guess MO2 has a limit on file path length.

Thank you so much for walking me through the troubleshooting!!

This  might actually be the 260 character limit for path of Windows. Enable the long path setting in Windows 10 might help.
Also look into the newer alpha versions of MO2 from the their discord.

After many hours of CAREFUL attention to Step Mods 2.2.0 (this is my 3rd Step installation for Skyrim in the last 5 years) on a clean install of Skyrim AE, DynDOLOD 3 threw the following error:

[Window Title]
DynDOLOD

[Main Instruction]
Required resource file not found meshes\lod\imperial\dcm_chickenstable_lod_0.nif.

[Content]
Make sure to install the latest DynDOLOD Standalone with the latest matching DynDOLOD Resources SE archive.

Make sure the archives downloaded and installed completely.

I have no idea where I should be looking to find the missing mesh. Any guidance here would be much appreciated. Is there anything I should provide here that might be helpful for troubleshooting?

I have been going through the SkyrimSE v2.2.0 STEP guide over the last couple of days (not for the first time--I've successfully gone through past iterations as well), and I've hit a confounding error toward the end trying to run DynDOLOD 3. It will run the Background Loader for about 10 seconds, go through a few more lines, then present the error "Required resource file not found meshes\enderal\lod\suncoast\suncoastmountaincliffslope_lod_0.nif." I'm not trying to run Enderal--why is DynDOLOD looking for a location file from it and failing on a SkyrimSE setup? I have the -sse argument set up in MO2 for the DynDOLOD exe, so I'm not sure what the hang up is. Any help would be appreciated!

Follow the links in the guide for DynDOLOD Resources mod and DynDOLOD 3 Alpha. You need to update to Alpha-32 Resources and also use the latest DynDOLOD Alpha 119

Awesome! It looks like the DynDOLOD Resources had been updated after I downloaded the package yesterday--that was exactly the issue. Thank you for pointing me to the solution, it's running just fine now!

The message contains possible solutions. One way to make sure if each is the latest version is to check the timestamp or compare the version numbers with the ones downloaded earlier:

Hi

DynDOLOD fails with a Required resource file not found meshes\lod\mountains\mountaincliffcrevasse_lod_0l.nif.

Resources are alpha-34 and Dyndolod 122

It is caused by Majestic Mountains Darkside Paralax mod as running MM darkside as non Paralax MM is ok, is this likely to be a Dyndolod issue or a Majestic Mountain one?

Following the current STEP guide and loaded up DynDOLOD on Step 5, where I got the error "Error: Required resource file not found meshes\architecture\whiterun\wrcitywalls\wrwallgatedrawbridge01_dyndolod_child.nif. Make sure to install the latest DynDOLOD Standalone with the latest matching DynDOLOD Resources SE archive. Make sure the archives downloaded and installed completely." I made sure the core DynDOLOD and resource files are up to date. Did I miss something somewhere? Any help is appreciated
