This mod works, but not in the way I had been hoping. This mod breaks the Home Sweet Home quest entirely if you choose to go the vanilla route of taking over parts of the Commonwealth. You can only use this mod if you choose the dialog option mentioned on the page to skip the quest entirely by saying you don't want to hurt people. This is a rather janky workaround that I'd rather not use, as longtime players know how they intend to play the quest and this can easily bug out your save if you don't know about this. Removing it from testing.

Hi, I agree with your assessment. I recently redid the whole mod and played through the horrible main quest with the mod active, and it now works also if you don't skip the raiding part. I stumbled upon this post here by chance and have no idea for what purpose it was tested, just wanted to chime in and inform about the update.

Thanks for the update! I actually had seen the update and put in a mental note to re-look at this mod.

The Step Fallout 4 guide is just a guide that attempts to setup people with a good baseline for a modded setup based on our Mandate.
