Wrye Bash Guide

z929669

Question

The Beta Wrye Bash Guide to STEP Installation is available

on THE WIKI

Based on the advice I received from users here, I will be asking TC to host on his site if he wishes. I will also host right here on the STEP wiki site when final. It is not yet final, but I will make it so once we have a fully compatible BOSS-Wrye Bash implementation to support Skyrim v1.5.

Hrm any idea why the new Bash installer is not detecting my Skyrim directory? All I get is a checkbox for "Install to extra locations".

Covered here
Not sure what you mean? I uninstalled WB and deleted the Mopy folder in my existing install... then tried to use the installer and nothing is showing up. I had no trouble with the 295.5 installer when I originally installed...

First paragraph

"click play from steam, this will start the launcher it will autodetect your game hardware and select a default option set for you. Accept the defaults for now (this will create your ini files) and click play, (this will create some essential skyrim registry entries) if you do not do this no programs will be able to find your skyrim directory. Click quit when you reach the main menu."

edit: added it to troubleshooting guide as well.

The new Bash team has finally figured out wtf they are doing and his kicked in the overdrive and turned on the NOS!

The whole Installation section will soon read, download and hit install. Enjoy.

Z will probably have to add a ton of newly working features though :P, just a few so far mostly they been crushing bugs and perfecting the install routine.

@Fri

Do you mean the NO2 :? (if not, what the heck is a NOS?)

From WrinklyNinja:

Hi again,

My Wrye Bash docs has been added to the Wrye Bash SVN, so it would be good if you could update your links to them. Here are the new ones:

https://oblivionworks...l%20Readme.html

https://oblivionworks...d%20Readme.html

https://oblivionworks...l%20Readme.html

https://oblivionworks...%20History.html

Once Wrye Bash v297 is released these links should be removed as they will be unnecessary. I'll PM you again when that happens.

This would be a great time to begin adding thoughts or proposed updates to the WBG wiki talk page, as I am behind the curve on most recent WB functionality

Well to start with on the bain page the bottom right window is now a full fledged wizard editor :D

That is nice. Took me a few to figure out that I had to extract to project and click "open in wiz comments" to view. Doesn't seem to extract from packages. Wonder if they plan on implementing command suggestions while typing?

re: Update to use header tabs on wiki - last tab about creating BCFs has lots of other unrelated headings underneath, eg install order, load order, ini tweaks.

Can there be more than 1 line of header tabs, if not may need to restructure guide to fit
