Lexy's: Legacy of The Dragonborn Special Edition

Recommended Posts

Hi all. So I've got an odd problem. I decided to revert to vanilla and use Lexy's guide, but then I ran into weirdness when installing and using Mod Organizer. I know that the default background is white, and I've done a reinstall before and had a white background, but this time, on a new install, it opened with the dark background I'd been using before and didn't prompt me for an instance, or for the game. It also had leftover exe's from my previous install.

So, where would this elusive file that remembers my old MO settings be hanging around? I've looked everywhere I can think to, but I can't find anything.

The selected theme should be in ModOrganizer.ini in the Settings section but you can change this from the Settings dialog:

[Settings]
style=Paper Dark by 6788-00.qss

Have you tried to click the first button at the top left and selecting an Instance (assuming you were using Instance mode before)?

I think it's fixed? But I don't know how. So, I had deleted MO2. Just got rid of it. Downloaded a new archive copy, launched it, and it remembered settings which I don't understand. I must have just missed a file somewhere. Where I think this may or may not cause problems is in this step in the Prerequisites section:

  1. Create a new folder called Mod Organizer 2 - Lexys LOTD SE (or something you would Recognize easily) in the Root of a Drive (so you have some like E:\Mod Organizer 2 - Lexys LOTD SE).
  2. Extract the contents of the downloaded Zip file to the folder created in Step 1
  3. Run ModOrganizer.exe
  4. A popup box should appear, asking you to "choose an Instance" pick Portable
  5. A 2nd popup should appear; from the drop-down menu pick Skyrim Special Edition
  6. A 3rd popup should appear asking if you want to see the tutorial. Those who are new to Mod Organizer 2 should select Yes. Those who are very familiar with it should Select No.
  7. A 4th popup should appear stating that 'Mod Organizer is not set up to handle nxm links. Associate it with nxm links?' The recommended response is Yes, as this will allow Mod Organizer 2 to handle Nexus file links.

I tried to create the MO2 directory in the root of my C: drive, but after I created it, I had to close it and it wouldn't launch again. I rebooted and it seems to be fine? But I don't know that it will continue to be. I'm reasonably comfortable with MO2, but this was just odd. This is also the first time I've installed MO2 outside of my Steam directory, so it's likely me not understanding the functionality.

Skyrim SE was updated to 1.5.50.0  today and SKSE64 is not working anymore... You'll get message to update it but there's no new version of it...Is there any work around ? Thank you... Was just going to play...

Oki I found a way, backup the new skyrim.exe and use the old one from backup until skse will be updated!

Well, so much for playing the game for the next few days. Crap... I don't keep backups of the main files, and never expected any updates to the game at this point... this is going to be mildly problematic.

Since my little problem, I decided that I'm keeping a compressed ".rar" copy of my mod organizer directory version before doing update to last version of the guide, and I always have a disk image, all on external hard drive.  As I understand, there will be many updates coming and I don't want to reinstall everything from scratch again...

I even checked if there is something like the OSX "Time Machine" that you can restore previous version for windows but did not find anything like it. So I went to do a complete rar of the folder... which is quite long compare to a versioning system like time machine... that just save the changes files or folders.  If anyone know a software that do that, I'll be happy to know which one...

Found a way (through Steam, no less) to get the old EXE back. SO I'm happy. I'd link it, but I'd have to go hunting again. I ran across the method by searching for patch notes for SSE, so if you take that route, it might help.

In completely unrelated items - I recently finished Forgotten City (very well done, BTW), but still cannot get Cassia's Notes out of inventory. Any ideas on how to do this?

Hey, I found it thanks.

Just a question for you, is it enough to replace the SkyrimSE.exe? Are your SKSE-plugin mods working? (Like Racemenu)

Cause I recall reading that 2 BSAs and the master files got updated too, but mine are still clean so just curious.

After I copied the files/esps from "Majestic Mountains" into the new folder, should I activate that "new mod" in Mod Organizer or not?

activate if you have not done the Landscape and environment merge yet.

I just tried to download "Veydosebrom - Grasses and Groundcover".

Unfortunately those files are currently hidden.

Any chance someone has those files at a nother location for download?

skip it for now hopefully it just an update.

I have a question about BSA Extraction in MO2. So, I've extracted the BSAs and the file shows up in the left pane. The instructions say to delete the dummy esp, but from where? Do I just Remove in the left pane, or leave it unchecked?

delete the esp from the mods folders or you could just move it to the "Optional" section with MO2.

So I take it many of you have discovered that Bethesda updated SSE yet again to service there pointless stupid Creation Club nonsense thus breaking SKSE yet again. If you have not updated don't if you have roll back to 1.5.39 until SKSE updates.

Hi,

I reverted my .exe to 1.5.39, but what about the master files and 2 BSAs that were downloaded? Is it OK that they belong to 1.5.50?

you should be OK. Hopefully it will only be a few days until SKSE updates it normally is. From what I can find out the update was to add more nonsense to the pointless Creation Club.
