shame that SKSE64 may never happen now

Was there some news I missed? Or is this just based on the lack of development updates lately?

Lack of development. Mostly because when a dev says "i didn't have time to..." he actualy lost interest or means. But it is all speculation ofcourse. Maybe we will be surprised.

I got annoyed with Oldrim's constant drop in frames and decided to give Skyrim Special Edition a go.

These are the first steps I took on modding SSE.

Mods used:

- Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

- Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM

- Skyrim 2017 Textures

- Skyrim Realistic Overhaul

- Skyrim Flora Overhaul SE

- Majestic Mountains (Darkside version) + LODs

- Dolomite Weathers (NLVA II)

- Vanilla Skyrim and Dragonborn billboards High Res 1024 (this is from Oldrim)

- SSELODGen (ran for LOD generating)

- SkyrimSE Re-Engaged (ENB)

- Alternate Start - Live Another Life (to faster test the game)

This is what i got: (ULTRA settings) (Also used BethINI with Ultra settings)

This is still early stage but i really like the looks and the stability so far. I got 59 FPS all the time. (I capped them at 59)

I will continue to add ofcourse but not so much as i did in the guides.

Just shared this info if someone wants to start modding SSE too.

Also i use Wrye Bash as my mod manager.

If anyone else is modding SSE you can post if you want your ideeas.

Hey paul, I started modding Skyrim SSE a while ago, I used this guide as a base:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5883/?

check it out.

I don't know if I can... I am using many ported mods in my setup and customized ones and i can't post them... When i finalize my setup i will see what i can do.

JD and I are working on this. We got SMC up and running for SSE and now we work on WLSO.

Thank you for posting this.  I keep kicking around modding up the new version but MO was looking like a pain to get running for the new Skyrim.  I kept hoping Tannin and the folks at nexus would bust out a decent mod manager before 2018 lol.  Anyway, going to follow this thread for some reference once I get started, thank you again.

Wrye Bash seems to be the best organizer for now. It takes a bit until you get the hang of it but afterwards it's quite a nice tool.

MO 2 is not working well... i only use it to install mods that have complicated fomods since Wrye Bash does not support fomods.

I just downloaded MO2 So I can mod Skyrim SE and also started a guide that I would like to post based off of Skyrim Revisited & the LOTD guides as long as I can get the CR right. Can you tell me if I am wasting my time using MO and if so maybe a few reason why I should not proceed if that is the case.

If you can deal with all the errors and stuff not working properly then you can use MO2, but else i would recommend Wrye Bash.

You can't use LOTD for SSE without skse.

I got a stable setup around 200 mods and SMC but i'm still in testing stage and looking for more.

If you need help ask.
