Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Recommended Posts

Thank you for your opinion on GPUs. I think I'm going order two 970s. I'm working on my first build and boy is it tough to make some decisions. I have followed your posts and guides for awhile so I'm pretty sure listening your advice is a good way to go.
A few of the STEP Mods I am interested in are Lock Overhaul, Shooting Stars, Rainbows, Animated Weapon Enchants, Skyrim Weapon De-LARP-ification Project, Birds and Flocks, 83Willows 101BugsHD, Unknown Enchants, Disease Descriptions,  Fuz Ro D-oh, and Appropriately Attired Jarls. A couple others that look interesting are Game Fixes = Achieve That, AutoPV, Bocksteal, Alchemist Compendium, Effects = Splash of rain, Gameplay = Hunterborn/Hunting in Skyrim and Enhanced Companions Guild - The companions Guild.
I believe the gameplay mods are kept up to date by the authors and might be popular mods that everyone might enjoy

Hey all, I have a little issue. I've just done a clean install of SRLE, and now any male character i create has grey face textures. I searched around a lot but only came across other people who have had this isssue with NPCs. I tried reinstalling Better Males, playing without it, but no matter what I do, the face is discoloured.

I repeat, it's only my male character. NPCs are fine, and my female characters are fine too. Please help.

@phazer11 The clutter is the best part. I always use a ton of weapon and armor mods because I love how random everything is...  ::P:

did you forget to install Faces - GeonoxFaces?

Nope, I re-installed the mod, checked the priorities... This issue occurs even when I have no face texture mods installed.

Edit: Guys, I figured it out. After the install, I was using the coc command from the main menu to stress test, and that's when I noticed the issue. Finally, for lack of any other ideas, I used the showracemenu command once in the world, and it corrected all the discolorations. So I then tried a new game, and surely enough, it was fine.

Hopefully this might help someone who may come across this bug sometime.

Razorsedge:  Just for info I have a GTX 980 single card.  I strongly agree with Neo on Gigabyte.  I have been using Gigabyte GFX cards for the last 4 years now and they have all be solid as a rock.  i deviated to MSI for one card and it just plain started to go wrong if i dared OC it.  Back to Gigabyte for this one thank you.

i paid £460 GBP for my card (bought from the UK and living in the UK).  As Neo noted the single card is good for 1080p.  Im running 1920x1200 but thats close enough.  I do have 2 monitors but I only ever game on 1.  The other gets used for in-game help (such as Battlescreen when I play BF4).

The card is great and would highly recomend it or the 2 x 970 which Neo has gone for.  Im running a complete and clean install of SRLE (by the book (which is obviously Neo's book)) which I finished building / testing about 3 days after my new card came.  Ive been playing Skyrim constantly since and aside from about 5 CTD's the game has been beautiful, silky smooth with the ENB on and a glory to behold.  I couldnt be hapier. This is how Skyrim should be played!

Get the card! (or cards!) - you wont regret it :)

Thanks for the reply Heliadhel. Newegg had both the 970s and 980s and sold out while I was trying to make up my mind lol decisions decision's. The only reason I would choose the 980s is because of the Higher CUDA cores (I have looked up the definition but to be honest still really don't know what they do.) I noticed the clock speeds don't change much between the two. I mainly play racing games and rpgs. But will be trying out battlefield soon. I just migrated from console to computer in the last year or so. right now I have 2 50 inch screens but game on one so if I got the 980 I guess over time I would have to get a 2nd 980. All I can say is Skyrim got me into computers, And Neo's guide got me wanting to build a better computer ( I know how beautiful Skyrim is with his guide and cant wait to experience it  stutter free). Lol after I get the new videocard I guess my next step will be learning TES5edit better so I can do conflicts on my own.

Hello Neovalen. I have been using SR LE as a base for a long time now and I love the amount of work you put into it. It's very solid and it helped me learn about the modding process. I added a few mods on my own on top of it though, it's hard to resist the temptation to do so :p One of these is SPERG, because I wanted a light overhaul of perks/gameplay, even though the mod seems to be slightly outdated.

A couple of hours ago however I saw the release of Perkus Maximus (Skyrim redone 2.0 I guess) on the Nexus and thought it was going to be a really big one. Is there any chance it will get included in this guide once a lot of potential conflicts are sorted out? There seems to be a team dedicated to making all kinds of patches that include many mods covered in this guide.

I'm sorry if you have stated your reasons for not adding a mod like skyrim redone, ace or sperg in the past a thousand times already, but I had to ask!:p

Hi Neovalen,

Looking inside the (last) premade CR Conflict Resolution in TESV Edit, It seems like I found a record which is overwriting one of Vividian ENB.esp change : screen (this record is the only odd occurrence that I can spot).

No big deal but is it intentional or can I safely forward Vividian ENB plugin values ?

Vividian ENB now includes cloud textures. Dramatic clouds overwrite some of them. Do we still need dramatic cloud?

Nope, and its now removed.

Hi Neo,

For Improved Closefaced Helmets, the author has uploaded a patch for Apophysis masks.

Should we still use the custom esp form the guide that has them removed?

Thanks!

Yes.

Neo, Telvanni Reborn has been removed from the Nexus

I know, I'm hoping MM re-uploads with his new name soonish.

My copy is now fixed.

Sorry for the slow updates of late guys... I've been sick about 3 weeks now plus finished Shadow of Mordor which I got cheap. AC:Unity released with Far Cry and DA:Inquisition coming up very soon. Busy times!

In any case, I'm working on re-upping my PerMa install with the release version + patches... we shall see how the final version fares.
