Question

So I just read this thread in the nexus https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54335/?

Because I was having some glowing white outline with npc when they stand I'm guessing shadows (because I don't see the glowing things in dark place without shadows need to be confirmed though)

And I have read about SMAA which the thread linked to STEP ENB guide, so I've installed the SMAA in my enb and I noticed jagged font, it's not as good as without SMAA.

Is there maybe any workaround to smoothen the text?

The thread says to set the SMAA_Preset to Low to reduce it but all I can see is there is no differences.

And thing about the antialiasing section in enblocal.ini what do I need to disable if I use SMAA?

The thread recommend this

EnableEdgeAA=true

EnableSubPixelAA=true

EnableTemporalAA=false

EnableTransparencyAA=true

Note: It has been reported to me by user EssArrBee over at the STEP forum that "The ENB AA for transparency is not performance friendly at all. The other three AA types in ENB are very performance friendly, but EdgeAA can cause blurriness and Temporal can cause ghosting."

With the thread I also read about using enb just for the fix only without the shader itself, but since I am using vivid weather enb I can't find the line the thread mentioned.

I'm guessing maybe someone can give me information about using enb just for the fix only?

Thank you and sorry for the long post.

The solution that works for me is to have SMAA set to the high profile with these settings:

EnableEdgeAA=true
EnableTemporalAA=false
EnableSubPixelAA=false
EnableTransparencyAA=false

Also, make sure transparency AA is not on in the drivers.

With the combination I mentioned above, I don't have a single jaggy line on my screen at 1920x1080 (IPS monitor). I also will never drop below 45FPS (this is in the Marsh) with this combo. I can add Vivid Weathers on top of this with a few select ENB effects from ELEP and achieve about the same results but max FPS between 50-55 instead of a rock solid 60. I have a GTX 760 and Core i5, by the way, so it's not an over-the-top system.

Yes, the high might be more of a struggle. I would try the medium in combination with the ENBAA to see how that handles performance wise and to fix your glow issue. Also be sure to check your drivers to make sure Transparency AA is off. The AA rest of the options should be set to Application Controlled.

I'll try medium preset and for the iBlurDeferredShadowMask do I just set it to 1 or can I set it more than 1?

So there's no way to smoothen the text like without using SMAA itself?

Huh that's weird, what seems causing the glow issue?

Maybe you can help me troubleshoot it without the needs of setting the value to 1 since it makes the shadows looks blocky
