What do you think about the idea of forwarding the USkP object bounds rather than the Skyrim object bounds (This makes sense if the Skyrim bounds are same for full and empty, since it stands to reason that USkP redefined bounds should be identical as well). -

BUT ... the USkP does not touch FILLED soul gems ... only empty ones, so the USkP object bounds are NOT forwarded to the filled gems. Since the filled gems are same shape as the empty ones, this makes absolutely no sense at all to me, so we should either be forwarding the USkP changes on object bounds of filled gems or we should be using Requem's object bounds on filled gems right? When I localize the en plugins all is well, but then when I change their language, all of the string text becomes undefined within the cells in the TESEdit right window. Therefore, I cannot copy and foreign language localized text, because i did not localize the foreign language plugins (and you confirmed that I do not need to). There is no foreign language text in the English versions of the plugins, so I need to copy it over. I first attempted to change the English localized versions of the plugins to, say, French, so I loaded English and French plugin versions for the specific plugin, and changed English plugin to French. Then all of the text became undefined, so I simply dragged the French text in the adjacent cell into the English version, saved and quit. This is wrong I take it, but I still am not clear on the instructions ... could you be even more specific? -

OK, so it sounds like you are saying: Localize ALL plugins, even the foreign language ones (I had not done that, only en) Copy the localized foreign text (from the cells in the main window or from Other > Localization > Language > Edit view window?) If I change language to Japanese (and update my TES5Edit, which is 3.0.30), will the strings appear in /Data/ and remain there after reverting back to English?RE object bounds: Are these the relative coordinates of the 3D object model edges where the crosshair changes to the selector? I tend to think there is some valid reason why they were changed in Requiem and that the vanilla values are problematic. Why doesn't the USkP change this same for full (no change) as for full (changed vanilla values for each)? Soul gems do not change shape from empty to full. TIA for this training guys. Finally able to work with TESEdit somewhat now! -
The texture appears much closer up, so that alone could cause more pixellation. You should be using the [img=http://url/][/img]tags .... not the "My Media" tool (click on the little picture icon in middle of second row in editor). Convert to jpg is fine, but upload to a file share like DropBox or Imgur and copy the public URL from those. IO can't tell what is happening iwht your texture without looking for myself. Will get back if I have a chance to do that.

OK, got it ... getting into this is not so hard to understand after all it seems :P ... but I am not done yet. Once I finish, I want to share back with you to check my work! @WilliamImm & SRB I see the localization settings in TESEdit, but the FNVEdit manual does not seem to include info about that ... Skyrim specific functions I suppose. Anyway ... I see how I can "Localize Plugin" - Does this create the necessary information to allow assignment of multiple languages? So I am loading up the USkP and Requiem plugins along with the four (SRB-modified) English plugins from SGD (but not the other language-specific plugins)? So I do this first for the English versions of each plugin (since each should have localization language set to English)? Then I need to select the other languages? Do I need to save as different plugins after each language change and merge them after or what? Do I merge using the "Apply Script" > "Merge Plugins 1.3"?Finally: Filled soul gems do not seem to have USkP as a master, so should I forward the Requiem object bounds for these or should they be same as unfilled USkP?? -

For Requiem version, it looks like I only need to update the values, right? But I should leave the object bounds alone? BTW: what do object bounds do? I assume that values are the gold that the gems are worth? -

So do your versions have the strings for all four languages? Am I only dealing with 4 plugins rather than 16? EDIT: Doh, I see now that you did not do that piece. I will try myself then after I read through this manual. EDIT2: I am using your 16 USkP-forwarded plugin versions as a starting point ... copying all into my SGD MO mod directory and activating them all ... Not sure yet if I want to activate them all in TESEdit. It seems like I should be able to, right? (Maybe I will find my own answer to this now) -

These are conflicting instructions ... It makes most sense to create a stand-alone plugin for Soul Gems Differ - Requem.esp (a compatibility plugin that only requires Requiem.esp as a master) rather than a patch plugin that requires both Soul Gems Differ - x.esp and Requiem.esp Then I will create another stand-alone compat version called Soul Gems Differ - Requem - Hard Times.esp that will require both Requiem.esp and Hard Times.esp as masters ... sound right? -

OK, I knew about that guide but had no handly links. Its about time I figured this stuff out anyway :/ I assume that you mean that the SGD requiem 'patch should be constructed as a stand-alone alternative plugin that is Requiem compatible (only Requiem.esp is master) and not really a patch using two masters ... ? -

LOOT sorts SGD after Requiem ... do I need to manually flip this or do I forward changes from Reqiuem? Also, I am not sure how to create an override and save to. I will poke around, but ... ? -
I mean that MO was not made to be launched using Python, AFAIK. I am sure it can be done, but Tannin would need to answer. You need Python 3.x though ... Python 2.7 is not compatible with MO (both can coexist) Why are you wanting to launch via Python anyway? Maybe the answer to this question could reveal alternatives. EDIT: my mistake, it looks like MO may use the Python 2.7 code base. I had though from previous conversations that Tannin was using 3.x. Again, Tannin (the developer) would need to assist. This is beyond most of the rest of the support staff.

OK so ... Launch TESEdit from MO Select and load only SGD ESPs (all or one at a time?) and Requiem.esp Apply filter? What kind? -
MO us built on Python 3.x generation, which has some fundamental diffs from 2.x gen. Therefore, I would assume that you would launch MO using Python 3.x It also may not even be possible as a conventional method there may also be issues to address with the Python Path

Yes please! Have been maintaining this mod for a looong time now on behalf of Utopolyst. Could you add the Requiem patch as well for me? ... or at lest learn me how to do it? What about the strings versions for sorting? What do I need to do to wrest this information from you? @Tech Did you use one of the Oct, 2013 versions as your source? These have the most updated and optimized textures, so be sure to use those assets. -
The Resolution Limit in Constraints ... just open up the combobox and look at the bottom. Did you check the normal map? EDIT: LKooking again at the OP shots, this texture looks like it has some compression issues too. It also seems like you are closer to the ground in the second image ... ?

I will upload it to the Nexus mod page if it works. Then I'd still like to make compatible with Requiem and add the strings changes to reduce the plugins (this would mean that you would need to change the FOMOD though ... it should reduce the code significantly for both Wizard and FOMOD if the latter uses the same method as the former). -
This would not be a foliage issue, since this is not a foliage texture. The constraints tab allows you to constrain by capping to a single pixel size (e.g., 1024x1024 or 512x1024, etc. ... this would only affect size of bigger textures) OR you can constrain by proportion (25%, 50%, 75%, etc ... This would affect ALL textures) If you keep this at default setting of 8192x8192 for both compressed and uncompressed, this issue should go away I think (or use 2048x2048). It could also be the normal map though, but it is hard to tell. You might want to use the preview feature of DDSopt to look at both diffuse and normal before/after.

haha ... merge everything with TESEdit is what I need the guide for. I am afraid that I never learned to use TESEdit for more than mod cleaning, and I don't much have the drive to learn that level of plugin management (too busy learning/maintaining other stuff). I basically know how to look at mod conflicts and read the results, but no idea how to make changes correctly or efficiently. If anyone wants to tell me exactly what to do, then maybe I can pick up the basics quickly. I learn by doing rather than by RTFM. TESEdit and the CK happen to be so unintuitive (for me anyway) that I cannot use my standard methodology of trial and error very easily. It seems to me that as long as Requiem overrides SGD, then you still get the look of the gems but with Requem functionality. I am not sure what kind of SGD functionality there is that would be lost this way. Seems negligible, but what do I know? I also agree with SRB. I believe that SkyUI allows alphanumeric sorting, so renaming inventory items would be fine, and altering strings would seem appropriate ... how do I do that ... any guides or info on this subject? -
Nice, Phaze ... I am pretty much stuck int the 60s-70s mostly, but I dabble in more modern (and more ancient stuff) as well. By the look of it, DDSopt simply constrained the 2k (or 1k) texture down to something very small, like 256kb. There do not appear to be any anomalies other than pixellation. Perhaps constraints by % were invoked?

Thanks for working on this Tech! @WI Regarding localization strings ... how do we do that? I would like to eliminate some of the plugins if possible. So the sorting options are just relevant to THIS mod and nothing else, right?Regarding Requiem Compat ... how to do that? Just a quick guide and I will take this on.
