SRLE Extended: Legacy of The Dragonborn
edynacio replied to Darth_mathias's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
That's nice little guide! I have it bookmarked. If i did it correctly it seems that the related mesh is SolitudeRockArch01 and the textures involved are mountainslab02*.dds The last mod on the left pane of MO that wins the conflict is Northfires Photoreal Mountains Vanilla Overlay 2K. I disabled it but the texture still has very poor quality. I have to play a little bit more with it and see if I can find what mod is providing that texture. -

I don't think I'm convinced about Ultimate NPC Overhaul II. The author claims that the goal is to make every NPC different, but by the images posted, it seems to me that many female NPC's have the same face shape and look a lot like each other. The only main differences between them are the hairstyles. As an example, compare the first 2 NPC's in images, Ysolda and Olfina. -

No pressure about BYS. I appreciate it, either way. For the texture this is what I'm getting using Mfg console. No other mod seems involved. -

Paul, Lexy or Darth, If you are dropping BYS, is anyone of you able to update the CR and update the guide, by any chance? I would like to test the different versions of AAE without the presence of BYS. I know you have all been very busy lately but I though about asking anyway, just in case one of you would be able to do it. -

Hiding \Meshes\lod\solitude\sbardscollegetower_lod.nif from Caribou Gone solved the problem with the floating tower in Solitude. While I was there I noticed this low resolution texture for the rock I was standing on -

Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - DynDOLOD 2.18

There's a missing bottom part for a tower in Solitude. Others users of SRLE Extended LoD have reported this issue. -

I totally agree with you. I think it's time to consider removing BYS -

Part of the tower is missing, bottom part, when looked at from afar. The top is floating in air. -

SRLE Extended brings SRLE many steps further, improving the Skyrim gaming experience. That obviously comes with a price. It's better to stick with SRLE basic if you can't have an enjoyable experience with SRLE Extended due to PC limitations. -

That probably is something to consider. It seems that AAE already touches on special enemies stats and resistances. I don't know if it wold make sense having both. What BYS adds is extra silver weapons arsenal, but I don't know if that would be really necessary. -

One of the questions to consider is how well the updated version plays with Bring Your Silver. There were issues with the previous version. We need to make sure that Vampires are realistically difficult but not hard to the point of making you miserable fighting them. -

Never used that feature or even though about it! I guess I got spoiled by Neo keeping his guide to neat. -

In Neo's absence, is anyone keeping an eye on mod updates in Nexus? -

Thanks for the tip. I'm actually using the Dawn of Skyrim All Major Cities and is working pretty good, except a few objects that I have to remove using the console. I'm also using Better City Entrances and Better Docks, inspired by your load order, but I didn't realize the tweaks you've made to Solitute setup. I'm going to give it a try until Paul starts working on the cities overhaul. You also have Civil War in your profile, I actually never got to play it with the old SRLExt guide. How is it working for you with a heavy modded profile? Did you had to do a CR for it? -

I finally had a chance in play testing with the new landscape overhaul that was done recently. What an excellent job! I'm extremely impressed. Just out of curiosity, do you have plans in the near future to overhaul the cities and villages? I think we can agree that they need a little love to make them more interesting. Mostly the major cities, they don't have the look of major urban areas in Skyrim. -

I may need to use these steps to remove a mod or two dependent on SRLE EXT CR.Where did you found those instructions? Are they reliable? -

Is the Skyrim.ini setting: iMinGrassSize to 75 for SFO on Steroids, correct? Edit: Never mind, just confirmed that on SFO page -

I don't know if you have consider this, but as a suggestion, you could have the SRLE Extended team keep an eye and update your guide when new versions of mods come up. This, of course, if they are willing or have the time to do it. -

I don't know if it would b a good idea touching ELFX that drastically because it's a core mod in SRLE. -

On the topic of difficult enemies, dragons, trolls, mages etc. We still have the problem reported above with vampires. It doesn't seem that the author of AAE will be fixing that soon by what I read in the forum. Is there a way to have that fixed in the SRLExt conflict resolution? And just to chime in the topic, I do agree that Vanilla difficulty is way to easy, a nice challenge in combat is appreciated and rewarding, but when it takes the joy of playing and having to win the fight by un-immersive ways like changing the difficulty level during combat, is not ideal. We want though creatures to be though and possibly requiring the help of NPC followers to defeat them, unless in later stages of character progression when the hero has already become a legendary hero able to take down mythical creatures solo. Adding to the equation, we have different levels of players, some more proficient in combat then others. Here's were the difficulty level can be adjusted in the game settings in a easy way that can have the game adapt to different players. So I guess it will take a little tweaking in the guide with the help of the users feedback, to find a good balance.
