GUIDE General Feedback
DanielCoffey replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
An update for the guide... T3TForFWE overwrites the RH_Ironsights settings in Zealotee's MP5 Pack and requires a manual edit to regain this functionality. MP5ForFWE.esp is the one that overwrites records in ZL-MP5.esp xx000ea7 MP5A4 SMG - DNAM - Flags1 - remove the Don't Use 1st Person IS Animations xx000ea9 MP5K SMG - DNAM - Grip Animation - change back to Handgrip1 instead of DEFAULT xx000eaa MP5SD5 SMG - DNAM - Flags1 - remove the Don't Use 1st Person IS Animations If these changes are made then we get to keep T3TForFWE's balance changes but retain Zealotree's RH-Ironsights settings. -
[REL] Puce Moose Quest Mods - FWE
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
Almost certainly, yes - I didn't change any of the IDs at all - it was just edits of existing records. You will of course get the usual moan about ESPs having changed so take a save prior to updating just in case. -

There we go - an All In One version and also separate files for Puce Moose Quest Mods - FWE on the Nexus now. The ESPs are all individual rather than merged and simply overwrite Puce Moose's originals. The full Puce Moose mods are still required. Go find that Jello and quaff that cola! -
Bash tag for Purified Water FWE behaviour?
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I discovered that the Purified Water (and a few other Ingestibles) were modified by DIFF which is merged into the Bashed Patch. The Bash.Graphics tag on DIFF.esp "won" since there is no Bash.Effects tag. This meant that the FWE changes to consumables were being trumped by DIFF's pipboy icon changes. -
How to get Wrye Flash to pick up LOOT bash tags?
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Has anyone keyed in (or found a source for) the Mator Settings for Fallout3 yet? I mean the ones which would go in Mator Smash/settings/Fallout3/ such as Bash.Actors.ACBS.json (name copied from the Skyrim folder) -
How to get Wrye Flash to pick up LOOT bash tags?
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Cheers. Thanks for the explanation. I wish Wrye Flash picked up the Effects section properly because as we mentioned a short while ago, there are a load of Effects on things like Purified Water that are simply ignored. By the way - do you know why the big Blackened patch (the main FWE/WMK/RH/EVE/MMM/PB one) was so many Ingestible records in it that are not needed? Take Buffout for example. That Blackened patch seems more like a Merged patch rather than a Compatibility Patch. It includes almost every Ingestible simply because FWE edited them and does not make any alterations to the record in FWE itself. -
How to get Wrye Flash to pick up LOOT bash tags?
DanielCoffey posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Is there a way to get Wrye Flash to pick up the LOOT bash tags or do I have to key them manually? I am finding my Bashed Patch is largely ignoring the majority of Bashed Gats that are needed since it doesn't seem to hook into LOOT. This means I am getting weapons from 20th Century Weapons that are not picking up their correct WMK/CALIBR/FWE stats because Wrye Flash is ignoring their changes. -

I have been given permission by Puce Moose to update all the FO3 Puce Moose quest mods to be FWE compliant where food, drink, chem, stimpak and alcohol effects are concerned. I will eventually be putting together an ESP Replacer Pack for all five mods on the Nexus so they can be included in the relevant section of the C&PD Guide. We will still need the original mods to drop these replacement ESPs into. This is a thread for me to let you see the progress and also to potentially ask questions if I get stuck. Brahmin Dairy Products - FWE Version
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
You were quite right - Puce Moose is more than happy for me to upload an ESP-replacer mod with updated ESPs. A Note Easily Missed is done and I am on An Evening With Mr Manchester. EDIT : .. which is going to take a while because there are so many checks. Take Potato Crisps for example. If you are not "Spud Powered", they are simply junk food which may restore HP (if not FWE satiated) and will damage rads (dependant on whether you have the Food Sanitizer). If you ARE "Spud Powered" then they act as a Stimpak... which varies in effect if FWE Triage is on or off and also varies in magnitude if the Fast Metabolism perk is taken. Phew... my brain is squeaking! -
Brahmin Dairy Products - FWE Version
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
With Smosh's permission I have uploaded a FWE-compliant version of Brahmin Dairy Products to the FO3 Nexus. LINK : Brahmin Dairy Products - FWE It is a complete mod so can simply replace the original in the C&PD guide. All FormIDs should remain the same (apart from the Brahmin Cheese which is now gone) so your dairy mountain or milk lake should be safe. If you already have the version of the file I linked above, it is exactly the same. -
Brahmin Dairy Products - FWE Version
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
I have pinged the original author to see if he wants to add it as an Optional file but if not, I'll release it on the Nexus as a fresh mod with appropriate credit (which he has already consented to back in 2009). EDIT : I have messaged Puce Moose too but while he has consented for a FO:NV TTW version of his quest mods, he has reserved explicit permission for any other edits. There are a lot of Ingestible items in his story mods. -
I have completed my conversion of Brahmin Dairy Products to be compatible with FWE and would appreciate a review of the ESP... LINK REMOVED - Please see Fallout 3 Nexus. CHANGES ========= Cleaned with xEDIT to remove ITMs Added Invent, Relev BASH tags to header Removed Brahmin Cheese from levelled lists since it was already in FWE Added relevant OBND to all objects (milk is a milk bottle, smoothies are a drinking glass, cheesecake is a patty) Corrected weights to be in line with FWE consumables Cheesecake is a light meal (3 out of 10) Check FWE Sated status, thirsty status and hungry status Check for "burpiness" of drinks (milk is low burp chance, smoothies medium burp chance) Milk generates an Empty Bottle on use All products reduce rads slowly Add correct noise on consumption (milk is non-fizzy bottle drink, cheesecake is chewy, smoothies are glass glugs) Add correct noise on milk bottle for picking up and dropping Remember to recreate your Bashed Patch to get rid of the old Brahmin Cheese in Levelled lists. The food merchant in Megaton should have a good selection of the items. If you see Brahmin Cheese it is from FWE. If you drink Brahmin Milk or Smothies and see a message "You drink some water but still feel slightly thirsty", that is coming from FWE and you would still see it even if you drank Nuka Cola. It is simply the FWE status message for that stage of thirstiness. Once some of you have had a chance to review the ESP, we can discuss how to distribute it. The original author has not modded since 2009 but is still active on Nexus.

GUIDE General Feedback
DanielCoffey replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
I am working on it. So far I have the BDP mod cleaned up, cheese deleted (in favour of FWE), levelled lists checked and BASH tags added to header. I then added proper OBND for all remaining objects, proper eating/drinking noises and modified weights. Then came FWE condition checks for satiation, hunger and thirst as well as "burpiness" of the drinks (yes, FWE checks for gassiness of drinks and segregates them into pure water, other drink and gassy drink). Brahmin milk deposits an Empty Bottle into inventory exactly as other drinks. I have tweaked the rads restored for the drinks given that FWE ups the rads and also makes Brahmin Cheese very good for getting rid of them. Once I have managed to check a cheesecake and a smoothie, I'll post the ESP for review. We can then discuss how to distribute it. The original author of BDP is not modding but is still active on the Nexus as a Fallout 4 player so we may be able to persuade him to add the ESP as an Optional file. Failing that, it can be put in a DropBox somewhere. -

DanielCoffey replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
Mod Overlap - FWE and Brahmin Dairy Products. There is a slight overlap between FWE and Brahmin Dairy Products in that both mods add Brahmin Cheese. - The FWE Brahmin Cheese entry is a fairly large meal that restores 20 health and removes 60 rads over time. - The BDP Brahmin Cheese entry restores 20 health and removes 20 rads. All the Brahmin Dairy entries in Brahmin Dairy Products are not compliant with the FWE Needs module and would have to be adapted. Rather than culling the mod entirely however, it may be worth just removing the Brahmin Cheese entry from the mod and its levelled lists and updating the remaining milk, smoothie and cheesecake entries to be FWE-compliant. There is a real need for some mod to keep Brahmin Milk in the game to play off all the empty milk bottles lying over the place. I am happy to create a new ESP for the mod if folks consider it worthwhile. -
Bash tag for Purified Water FWE behaviour?
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I suspect it is time for a C&PD Conflict Resolution.esp then like the one in Neovalen's SR:LE guide. Since the presence of optional mods and merged patches in the C&PD guide would make a single patch practically impossible, it may be better to create one that focusses on the Core mods only then expect players to make their own for polish and personal preferences. These days there are enough guides on xEdit that it is reasonable to expect someone who can successfully follow a huge guide like SR:LE and C&PD to be able to make a custom patch. I will start to build a personal list of oddities that I think should be in a Conflict Resolution patch and will forward it to you for checking in a few days. I will also have a look for the issues behind Moriarty (and similar NPCs) wearing toenails under his open jacket which seem to be down to his outfit not being converted to Roberts body type. There was also a 20th Century Weapon with ridiculous damage (670-ish) which one of the Super Duper Mart raiders used to practically blow my arm off which obviously has been missed from an existing rebalance patch. I'll get the name and look into that too. -
Bash tag for Purified Water FWE behaviour?
DanielCoffey posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I have noticed that drinks like Purified Water do not quench my thirst when Primary Needs are enabled in FWE so I checked the record in FO3EDIT and spotted an oddity... Fallout3.esm 000151a3 WaterPurified is defined in Fallout3.esm, modified in the UUF3P (for the sound effect) and then has the FWE thirst script added by the FWE Main esm and esp. The thirst script is carried forward in the UUF3P-FWE patch and the Blackened-FWE-MMM-EVE-Project Beauty patch but NOT in the Bashed Patch. The Bashed Patch only reflects the UUF3P change. What Bashed Tag do I have to apply to which ESP to get the correct behaviour in the Bashed Patch? -
Crow has almost no items in his inventory
DanielCoffey replied to Satur9's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Some good news in my current playthrough at least... Although Crow did indeed start with nothing other than his three Stimpaks (which I couldn't afford) and vanilla Guards, by the time he returned to Megaton he was fully stocked and guarded by the enhanced Guard posse I would have expected. He appeared near Megaton and pathed to his usual spot then returned back the other way with only his basic Guards. They took out some MMM ant variants for me and carried on. I then encountered the Doctor after a day's sleep. Next time, Crow was there with his full team and stocked properly. -
Crow has almost no items in his inventory
DanielCoffey replied to Satur9's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I have just run into this exact issue myself on a clean install and wondered if a solution has been found yet? Crow was alone with no guards, no Brahmin and no caps. He only has 3 stimpaks in his inventory. Given all the tougher trader mods, I would have expected him and his guards to be able to handle the ants near megaton easily but wondered if the raiders from the school had hit his caravan? I could use tgm or tai and go and look but wondered if this was expected behaviour from a merchant in the starting area. EDIT : Is it a conflict caused by The Wasteland Patch Collection being loaded after the Bashed Patch without the correct edits or tags?? -
Keybinding Conflict - CASM and ENBoost
DanielCoffey posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I have spotted a potential keybinding conflict between CASM (F4 - Autosave) and ENBoost (F4 - Flush VRAM). I was getting heavy jerkiness and stuttering when turning at random but frequent intervals that seemed in some way tied with the saving frequencies of CASM. The jerkiness was so bad it was even showing up in the GPUTweak screen which I was running to help track it down. I was finding the GPU was ticking over at 1.4Gb out of 3Gb VRAM and utilisation at 22% to 25% but when the jerkiness triggered, the GPU utilisation would drop to practically zero for a few seconds then go back again. The in-game ENBoost FPS counter would normally be 60.0 but would slam down to under 10 for a couple of seconds before averaging back up to 60.0 again. While checking my enblocal.ini settings I spotted the fact that KeyFreeVRAM was bound to F4 and as we know, CASM is also bound to F4. The solution? Change the binding in enblocal.ini to something else since CASM is hard-coded with its compiled scripts. === enblocal.ini Locate the [iNPUT] section and change KeyFreeVRAM=115 to KeyFreeVRAM=117 This will remap the flush from F4 to F6. -
GUIDE General Feedback
DanielCoffey replied to Kelmych's topic in Fallout 3 - Clear & Present Danger
Another broken link at the end of In Game Settings... "options generated by Ghostwise that provides a little less challenging option selections is available here." goes to an empty page on the STEP wiki. === EDIT : I have a suggestion for an Addendum to the guide to explain that the FWE Configuration and Triage settings will not be accessible until you either exit Vault 101 or the Alternate Start shack. The reason this is important is that by the time I had finished the Vault 101 section, I had taken significant limb damage, nearly had a crippled head and had found that it was not possible to Heal from the water fountains. I had to rely entirely on the few Stimpaks that were provided in the Vault and they did not heal location damage when applied to the head. I must have looked an alarming sight as I staggered into the daylight! I would suggest that the best place for this comment would be the "In Game Settings" block. "FWE and Triage Configuration - please be aware that you will not be able to access the Configuration screens for these mods until you either exit Vault 101 or the Alternate Start shack. You will have to take care to avoid excessive limb damage until you do so." -
Which UF3P Exotic Caravans ESP?
DanielCoffey replied to DanielCoffey's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
That happens to be the one I picked too, but I have not had a chance to get out of 101 yet as I am having trouble with lag in combat. I'll look into it then possibly post a support thread tomorrow.
