  1. BETA location... https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/files/category/97-unofficial-patch-betas/
  2. The issue highlighted by Neovalen refers to an edit in the BETA version 2.0 of the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch which is not yet available on the Nexus but is available for testers with some digging. I have obtained a copy of the UDBP BETA and will pre-emptively make this change.
  3. I see from the latest SR:LE guide that a missing edit has been highlighted between Book Covers Dragonborn.esp and UDBP. I will release an updated version of the Book Covers mod to address this issue within the next day. Hopefully that will mean that the specific edit will be no longer required. Thanks for highlighting this for me, Neo.
  4. Version 1.2 has been uploaded which addresses a lot of the reverb issues as well as the frequency of events such as the Pine Forest branch cracking.
  5. There has been an update to Ash Rocks too, while you are at it.
  6. It is odd that the same combat with a keyboard gives the same problem. My first thought was that some wireless interference was causing the issue but that would not necessarily be the case from a variety of mice and a wired keyboard. Do you have some kind of scripted mod that affects combat, such as hit locations or an intricate combat overhaul?
  7. If anyone is looking for another example of a mod that is structured like EBQO for testing purposes, I can confirm that Book Covers Skyrim is. I structured my FOMOD installer from WilliamImm's when I built it (the Loose files and BSA versions are organised slightly differently). I think I too have had reports of the Internal FOMOD installer giving unpredictable results when used with my mod.
  8. Just to recap... If you use Bookshelves Script SKSE and have Dragonborn, you need EITHER Dragonborn Book Bounds Fix OR Book Covers Skyrim.
  9. CH works very well as a Horse management mod and didn't show any visible conflicts with Requiem while I was using it.
  10. If you do use this, you will need to add Dragonborn Book Bounds Fix for all the Dragonborn books, journals and notes. There is a mod that does this for us... https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/39671 If you use Book Covers Skyrim then you do not need the Dragonborn Book Bounds Fix as I have already added relevant OBND values.
  11. Hello folks - I am the current owner of the Book Covers Skyrim mod and I thought I could clear up a few queries or comments that have been raised here. Firstly the big push of updates to the mod is now complete. Every book cover has had its second pass finished and there are now covers for SK, DG, HF and DB. There will now be a prolonged period of stability while I work on new covers for the Journals. I will be saving up all the Journals into one combined update. The mod provides more than just new covers. The Books (and soon the Journals) have optimised and UV-Mapped meshes too. The Books in the world have about 15% fewer triangles to them and the Journals will have 38% fewer without any apparent loss of quality (that tiny button had over a hundred triangles culled from it). You can see the meshes they use in Better Book Mesh and Better Journal Mesh. The reason the mod uses four ESP files instead of one at the moment is that the BSA version needs to be split by DLC. Unlike Oblivion, we can't reference multiple BSAs from one ESP. The Loose Files version of the mod did have a Merged ESP until recently but in an attempt to cut down on the sheer number of variants I had to support I dropped it and posted instructions on how to recreate it on an individual basis. It was not used by more than 10% of the mod's users anyway. In the long term I do intend to produce a grand merged BSA/ESP pair when I have finished all planned updates to the mod. The mod is localized into English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. I have also just been sent Russian Strings files to inspect and incorporate into the mod. As for Compatibility Patches, the mod of course is affected by Better Sorting style mods as well as Even Better Quest Objectives. The author of EBQO has created an English Compatibility Patch which autodetects the presence of Book Covers Skyrim. I have created a Compatibility Patch for Better Skill and Quest Book Names. The Better Sorting / Enhanced Better Sorting issue is something I feel I should point out as it will certainly mean that Book Covers Skyrim would not be appropriate for STEP CORE at the moment. In an attempt to further reduce the number of ESP versions I had to support, I took the decision a while back to make the "Better Sorting style" Book and Journal names the default for the Book Covers Skyrim mod in English. If I turned my back on the Better Sorting users, then every single one of them would have had to stop using the Book Covers mod. After asking for feedback on the mod's forum (which was not forthcoming) I went ahead and made the Better Sorting names standard in my mod. In retrospect that was probably not the best decisions in the long term. It was expedient but perhaps I should have thought about it more. Now the mod is settling down more, I could perhaps look at this again. Only two players have commented on the issue after the fact. I have not yet got as far as dealing with the Notes but when I do, I will still be giving the choice to have the Notes retextured or not. I am planning much more subtle textures on the Notes and will of course be doing a Better Notes Mesh so that I can improve the UV Mapping. Once I have completely finished all the textures I plan to talk about a Half Sized Normals performance version but will wait till that time before discussing it. I certainly agree that Book Covers Skyrim should be in STEP EXTENDED rather than STEP CORE. The feel of the books is significantly altered from Vanilla. Personally I think it is a great improvement but it is still a departure from Vanilla and I understand what STEP CORE is intended to represent. If you have a list of objectives for me to work on to help influence which STEP category the mod should be in or if you have any issues with the mod, I am happy to discuss them. Daniel.
  12. I have just remembered one more category of conflicts between SR (non-LE) and Requiem... Arrow Flight mechanics mods. Requiem modifies arrow paths based on Archery skill. The aiming .ini tweaks and the ones which affect arrow behaviour were mods I missed out.
  13. I would make sure you are using the latest version of MO then. There should be an Use External FOMOD Installer option in there somewhere.
  14. MO has an option to use an External FOMOD Installer. Some mods prefer the default installer but the majority work well with the External Installer. See which your MO is set up to use and change it to the other.
  15. Thanks - that was the info that I needed. I wondered about ENBoost since I didn't see it in the WIP LE guide so thought there might have been a valid technical reason that it was not mentioned. If it is incorporated into the most recent Unreal Cinema ENB that is good news.
  16. I would be pleased to hear from folks like Neovalen to hear their current feelings about the place of ENBoost in the context of an SR:LE build? Is it likely to be in? Is it out because of a rapid development cycle? Does it do something that in the context of SR:LE is undesirable? I also see from the most recent (WIP) guide that there is no mention of ENBoost and that an ENB is assumed and forms part of the mod choices since it intimately affects lighting and weather in the game. I have to confess that my machine struggles when an ENB is present because of the resolution I play at (2560x1440) so I am looking at the ENB and trying to assess the impact on my system at that resolution. Is the Unreal Cinema ENB intended to be a full on ENB experience or is it relatively light? Are there suggestions for a "Performance" preset or a "Full" one?
  17. You could grant yourself the blade via console if that was all you wanted... player.additem 000c1989 1 But according to the UESP wiki...
  18. Once we have a working SR:LE guide, we can certainly put our heads together to work out any potential conflicts with Requiem. My current load order is a little way off SR and is also out of date so I wouldn't consider it suitable for any guides at the moment.
  19. I am using Requiem in my current playthrough but it was the old SR build from the turn of the year. I left out anything from SR that I thought might conflict with Requiem - stuff to do with crafting, AI and additional spawns. I was able to get all the texture, skeleton, AV and immersion mods in however. My installation is not up to date at the moment as I have been working on the Book Covers Skyrim mod since February and have not played since then. I was planning to Redo From Start with the complete SR-Legendary in whatever state it is in when I finish the last update to Book Covers.
  20. And that is why it is often worth sticking with Hadvar/Ralof till you get to town.
  21. The size reduction for Book Covers going through DDSopt was because the specular maps on Book Covers were empty and DDSopt cleaned them out. The author is aware and will be working on a new release with specular maps included.
  22. Running it through DDSopt reduces the size of the mod from 650Mb to 490Mb. While the 512x512 textures themselves are still 171Kb each, the 512x512 normals were halved in size from 342Kb down to 171Kb. This implies the author could save them in a different format.
  23. The UESP guide shows that the GTX465 1Gb can run at Very High settings ( https://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:System_Requirements ) but you could try lowering Shadows from Ultra to High and see if dropping to 2xAA or even 0xAA gives you enough headroom. If you have already run the MO / Mods folder through DDSopt at 2048x248 then consider doing just the normals from Automatic Variants (which will probably be hiding in the Overrides folder by now) at 1024x1024. Make sure you only select the _n.dds files for the Automatic Variants folders and untick the Ignore setting in DDSOpt to do with Pass Through (unchanged files). Make a backup first of course.
  24. You could start a thread in the main STEP support forum listing your hardware details and request advice on settings to use.
  25. I picked the Snow and Rocks HD 2048 file since it mentioned that it did contain caves, did a Manual install and un-ticked everything except data \ textures \ dungeons \ caves. Everything else was to do with High Hrothgar, snow or rocks.
