I just noticed a description you had was for the main window and I was reading it as the initial plugin selector dialogue, so I've added some extra text to clarify those steps. Might seem a bit verbose but it just means only the plugins needed for the merge are loading, not the whole list. -

Too quick for me again. Nice. I'll go through and freshen up some of the edits to use some of those fancy templates. Make things look amazing. You're also still in Merge Plugins Script mode with the text descriptions, have a look at how I edited the last two merge sections to see what I mean. Any new merge instructions can be mostly copy/paste from these. Tell me, why is it a five and half year old game can still hold sway, even in the face of new games? -

The Advanced Recon mods can safely be merged also. I'm down to 48 plugins now. I purposely left out the ESMs though, not sure about whether they can be merged. They more than likely can but some other mods might look for those in later installs. That is weird. I loaded in my merged plugin AND the original: A thorny Situation and compared them alongside the masters. Somewhere my merge grabbed these RGB values instead of what is there: RGB: 87,79,57 FalloutNV.esm, YUP and AthornySituation all have: RGB: 108,97,70 So your merge is correct, mine is somehow stuffed up. Where it got those values is anybody's guess. Returning those values to original and then running Generate BASH tags removed that C.Light tag from the plugin. Still have the Invent tag though. -

Just tried your new instructions and I got slightly different results to you from the Bash Tag generation. In addition to those listed I also got: C.Light & Invent. Did a bit of investigating and I think it is because I had the scripts from GitHub, which include a few minor changes to some functions, and the guide uses your copy from Mega. Mostly he, @fireundubh, shifted some dependencies to his library: dubhFunctions.pas, which inturn relies on mteFunctions.pas. From a brief examination I can't see anything major has changed, except the additional tags I now have. Might want to have a look a the GitHub repo and see if yours is older or not. -
There's a distinct gap between "making the game look fantastic" and "making the game playable and stable". You'll find a lot of stuff that outlines amazing screenshots and possibly some small YouTube videos but the whole thing might grind to a halt when you actually play the thing. There's that adage about "not making a silk purse from pig's ear". Skyrim's engine is, and always will be, a pig's ear.

To clarify your OP, are you saying the MO UI won't initialise or are you just concerned about those log messages? If it is the latter then most of those are no consequence, only the mutex reference concerns me, and MO will function regardless. On the other hand, if is not loading could you post what ever logs ar generated and also describe the Windows environment you are running. This latter information is due to the mutex error. That refers to code that is failing to run in a multi-threaded manner. -

Which is why point 4 was added to the notice immediately above the steps on installing in the STEP guide. The link in that note takes the reader to the MO guide where this method is further discussed. This way users become acquainted with the tools they use along the way, making any further installations by them easier. -

STEP uses LOOT and any issues regarding the use of BOSS should be looked at by either the maintainer of the specific guide or by the user themselves. As to the question of BOSS or LOOT. BOSS is no longer in active maintenance, whereas LOOT is in a constant state of improvement.The list of mods that need special treatment is likewise being constantly updated and very few mods need special handling, whereas very few people (some estimate as little as 20) ever added to BOSS's lists.Those very few mods that do, can be managed by setting meta rules, also easily done with LOOT.Most of the contributors to BOSS's code are now working on LOOT.A good look at the LOOT FAQ may allay any fears you might have about LOOT. I would also echo the counsel to avoid using "coc" to initiate any save that you wish to use. Even using it to test things should be used judiciously as this post by @arthmoor notes. Moving into areas this way can avoid needed scripts from firing, or cause them to fire out of sequence. Saving them into a save will likely cause issues further down the track. -

The two files (jsonutils.pex/psc & StorageUtil.dll) from PapyrusUtils that are used in this mod are identical to those in PapyrusUtils itself, so nothing to worry about.

If for any reason you wish to cancel Smash from executing it presents an error dialogue thus: Application Error Exception EOSError in module MatorSmash.exe at 000273E1 System Error. Code 5. Access is denied.Merge Plugins is able to exit calmly if 'Cancel' is pressed. -

Ok, copying the entries from one to the other fixed that. Thanks. Registry entries? Wasn't aware it saved settings to the registry, I'll rummage through to see what and where. One last thing. I know I saw it somewhere but I can't find it now, the switches you can add to load the tools without selecting the profile to use, what were those again please? -

That's just... weird. Two modders grab the original, now free-to-use version and release them on Nexus and that's ok! Even the descriptions are just copy/paste from the original. Anyway based on the limited descriptions, the Enhanced Mighty Dragons Reborn has been updated to use USLEEP as a master so immediately that's a plus for that one. -
The only possible slight inconvenience that might arise is another mod requires the ESM as a master and the smaller ESPs from the original mod work better placed AFTER this second mod thus: original mod.esm second mod.esp original mod1.esp original mod2.esp Merging the two ESPs from the original will be easy, but adding in the ESM might, cause an issue or two. Admittedly this scenario doesn't always occur so the likelihood is low.
