pack Weather and Lighting (by Smile44)
Aiyen replied to Smile44's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Okay Aiyen be awesome and apparently way faster then Saerileth....Made a "patch" that fixes the sun in ESS, and random cloud glowing during the night due to bad values. If ya want to try it out then throw me a pm. Its for the 3.15 version that requires dawnguard. I only fixed the clouds and their color. The weathers are xxx0A99(0-8) Will work with the SOS patches etc. -
My screenshots are what I have manually edited the textures to look like! :P Got so tired of bright shiny blue colors that just did not fit in anywhere in my game. But yeah I prefer the dark ice v2 parallax version as the base for my edits. I also use the less bright option. And yeah the wizard kinda makes it very easy!
-
Why are they confusing ? You decide between parallax or non parallax. Then you have a selection of various types and resolutions. Finally if you want a bright or not so bright version. There even is a picture illustration on each showing you what you get! :) Gonna stick with my own custom one for now...moving on to other issues that annoy me more! :)

The mod is the best around for vanilla lighting.... which is all STEP cares about. And I also think it looks great with that lighting. Not the mods fault that ENB´s mess it up. And the options are great... quite a few different ones to pick from which is great! But I used the v2 one as my foundation. And yes just that one file... from the dark option of RIS. But it is not going to solve the issue with the ice looking awkward on its own, for that you would have to make your own edits to make it fit.
-
They will most likely all be bad with ENB since ENB amplifies the saturation levels most of the time! Tried every single one last night, and found that the best basis for improvement was the dark ice one. But I also took the glaciersubsurface.dds from Real Ice and Snow and used that instead of whatever else I was using, since it was actually quite superior, and helps quite a bit with definition inside the ice.

DROPPED Soul Gems Differ - Full and Empty (by Utopolyst)
Aiyen replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well having recently been learning the finer details of screenshot taking in skyrim... since I had some issues over and ENB with some of my shots. There is quite a bit variation between which program you use to take the screenshot, and what your ingame brightness slider is set at. As for formats... jpg at 100% quality or png is for all practical applications here going to be the same colorwise. Yes if you are a specialist and you have a monitor with some godly color coverage then you can notice differences, but only then. I would also use png if it was for anything other then just showing screenshots...since it is a better format for downstream applications. My complete process is to take the screenshot ingame at 1440p Downsample to 720p with Sinc algoritm, and then save as jpg at 100%. This way almost no color information is lost. The only issue there might be is the above... which is just really annoying. -

I always downscale to 1280x720 and convert to jpg before I upload to imgur... seems to be working with these forums! -
Will have to check later... spent most of friday doing flora changes to just about every texture to make it fit! But as long as my FPS can remain at current levels I am always open to remove an .esp from the list ! :)
-
Hehe I edited these textures last night because I got tried of how blue my ENB made them look... still debating if I like what I have made or not. They really are quite annoying to work with! Also there seems to be a slight inconsistensy in the LOD for icebergs and glaciers. This is how I made glaciers look atm. Can produce some icebergs later when I can be bothered to return to it.

And double LOL epic fail Aiyen :D Did not even notice that! Other point was just... you can just type the number... no need for the whole screenshot process :P Edit: Also I do not have the mod that includes that weather... so cant check it. But it does look like it has a bug. -

LOL epic fail Bro :P Need the weatherID (You find it in the weather tab! :P ) ... you just need to type the number in ex. xxx47e30 is a snowy weather. -

Is the sun only a problem in that particular weather.... when you post issues like this please also have the weather ID handy. To get it use the STATUS mod by mannyGT. As for clear skies not working, then no clue, I have never unlocked any shout other then FUZZZZzzzzzz. ;) -
Textures have very little to say on the FPS side of things unless you have a really old computer or very little memory available. Since then you have to do HDD swaps which will slow you down and affect FPS. Also the model size does not really matter. You can have an eye that has a 4k texture but it would just be a waste of memory since you would never notice the amount of detail anyways.
-
Do not touch the skin textures without knowing what you are doing. They are really sensitive! And what do you mean with performance hit ? The skin textures are shared across almost all actors normally so in the grand scheme of things they do not contribute much. But the main problem when doing random automated optimization is that you mess up the delicate balance of the texture, since even small changes of a few pixels are going to be visible. Hence any altering of compression and/or sizes are going to have to have the potential to mess things up on a per pixel basis.

Bluish white body on player character
Aiyen replied to bitdman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
So vanilla game with only SKSE on does this or ? If this is related to what you had last, then try to isolate it by only activating a few mods at a time until it happens.. -
Entirely understanable! It is annoying to have to do it all over for every texture if you do not just have them laying about ready to copy paste :)
-
1k 1k is still staying small... the difference we are talking about going down to 512 is like 20Mb of memory on a per cell basis :P

How can I make an SR install more stable?
Aiyen replied to Wraithpk's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Have you actually tried to go up to 1k normals and then play? It takes at least 10 textures to even make 1Mb difference in memory use by going from 1k to 512. So from the average cell load then you would only see like a 10-20Mb difference give or take. It just seems odd to me that a difference of that little would make any impact on stability on any sort of reproduceable scale. This in contrast to the 500-700Mb difference from going from 2k to 1k. -
Guess it does come down to weather settings as you suspect. Here is what I have with my modified CoT and ENB. Also did modify the colors of your grasses, and replaced one (Vurt_TundraRedFlora) since it just never fit in with the rest of the crowd. ;)Â
-
I believe that mindflux already made some grass that does not have this issue. He is the person who normally does the mesh fixes so would be a good place to start for inspiration etc.
-
Interesting work. And in general like your screens. But still remember that it would most likely be a massive undertaking making something that looks nice for the vast majority of setups! :) On my own I in general found that most flora and grass etc. kinda needs to be desaturated by about 20% to match with the ground below. So its an easy fix. The LOD´s I have already shown screens of, and I think they are spot on for my work! Even without fog in the distance. Only thing I could mention from my last test was one of the ground covers. The mesh that the vurt_tungraGrnd2 texture is applied too have some rather bad stretching while blowing in the wind.

I am quite sure if you went for even 1k:1k you would see the same effect.... I still have not seen anything conclusive about it being required to go to 512. -
Invisible textures in Bleak Falls Barrow
Aiyen replied to Einheri's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Any ENB? Which driver version? What ini tweaks? Stuff like that. -
Apparently he needs it this way for his pack structure... otherwise I would have combined them all by now! :)
