ACCEPTED White Phial Replacer (by Saerileth)
Aiyen replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Guess this all sums up to.. It is the end product that matters, not the means by which you got to em! If you had made the handle yourself in a modeling program instead of just cutting of a bit of bow mesh then it would still look the same... Oh well I will just eagerly await what you come up with next! -
Finished up to 2.D. in the wiki guide...getting CTD before the main menu
Aiyen replied to navman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Using tool A or tool B to alter the compression and mipmap levels of your textures does not really matter at all. Only difference is one tool offers more options for advanced use than the other. for FOV then in your skyrim.ini under DISPLAY add fDefaultWorldFOV=X, with X being the amount of degrees you want. You can test ingame using the console by typing "fov x" and it will change. Then you can fine tune until you are happy. -

So many shades of grey... there is a debate that could go on forever if I ever saw one. I know in this particular case I would never have considered there would be an issue due to the heavy modification of the asset. Like if I used a texture from the DLC as one layer out of of ten new ones to create a new look, then I would no longer consider that as a DLC asset in any way. Since the modifications I made to it will have made it an entirely new asset in every way. It is not like if you took entire models and their respective textures and then redid all the pathing and created an .esp for their inclusion in the original game. But oh well... guess it will not be relevant for me anytime soon.. I prefer to create just about everything from the ground up anyways, if only for the learning experience. -

Say what... So let me understand this correctly. You have part of a mesh and some textures which you have used as a base from dawnguard... and because of that it is not simply enough to state thank you bethesda in the credits ? As long as your model does not require anything directly pathed to the DLC then it make no sense that there should be a requirement at all. I mean for all intents and purposes the work is standalone and will work without the DLC as long as nothing links to it. I am really rather confused by this hehe. -

Aiyen replied to phryxolydian's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Why do you not just make custom texture paths for everything Saer ? If all you need is a specific texture from a DLC, just change the path in the mesh to not include it but rather your own custom one. Problem solved I would think... unless I entirely misunderstood what is going on! I know I do it for more or less everything I am doing when I do mesh edits... I just do not want to deal with people who happen to use some other texture replacer, or place it wrong relative to some other mod and get a non desired result.... Also it is so annoying to answer "There is an overwrite conflict with mod X. Is it safe to overwrite". -

Well according to some models it is anyways... but this is not the place for the finer points of cosmological modeling! It is the place for the finer points of bottle modeling! That said then I still like what ya are doing Saer! Amazeing progress you have made imo! -
Nothing on your load order list which stands out to me as causing issues. Did you check if it was a general problem over several weathers and interiors ? There are differences between pure and legacy depending on quite a few factors. If it is a persistent problem and you think it is wrong then I would suggest that you try asking at the RCRN forums instead. Just link them the mod list and load orders and perhaps a screenshot of the issue and I am sure they will be able to help ya out.

Texture Errors throughout Skyrim: black, blue, invisible
Aiyen replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well that can be annoying, but sometimes when you get weird errors galore then it is most likely due to having been cutting some corners or doing something in the incorrect order. Best thing to do is always to get all the mods first then follow the guides! It can be annoying, but it really helps one avoid quite a few headaches. For the textures, then you can extract the textures.bsa to a folder and then load it last in MO. Then vanilla textures will be used for everything once again. It is always nice to have the vanilla files in loose format for troubleshooting texture issues. Yes it takes up some more disk space but it is quite handy. Once you got a mod list you are happy with you can just delete the files again. -
Complete load order and mod list etc. please. Also make sure that your ingame gamma is set to the middle, or that fgamma=1.0 in the skyrimprefs.ini file. This would be the most apparent reason for any sunglass effect. If that does not fix it then you have some mod that alters the image spaces in such a way that the changes RCRN make everything look darker.

Texture Errors throughout Skyrim: black, blue, invisible
Aiyen replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
In general it sounds like you have been cutting some corners in terms of doing proper installations of quite a few things by now. I do not assume you have made a nice folder containing all the vanilla textures you could just put at the bottom of your mod order? (This is easier then disabling every single mod that puts in new textures.) If the problem persist with only default vanilla textures then I would be quite certain that something is wrong hardware wise... since every computer with 8Gb of working memory and your gfx card would be able to run the vanilla HDDLC without any memory related issues. Assuming that every texture is actually installed and not corrupted etc.. but if they where corrupted then the problem would be persistent not happening after a certain amount of time. -
Crash after enabling Step Core project
Aiyen replied to gogasman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Link load order and other relevant info... without anything to go on at all it is not possible to help you in the slightest. If you crash at the point you are saying it is 95% most likely a load order issue.. which means you have not run a sort on your list to get the .esp files in the correct order relative to each other. -
Texture Errors throughout Skyrim: black, blue, invisible
Aiyen replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If it is not persistent then it would mean a memory issue since if there is not enough memory to load in all the textures it will happen at random. But with your hardware that would just be weird.... Assuming you got Enboost etc. going. -
Texture Errors throughout Skyrim: black, blue, invisible
Aiyen replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Black, purple, invisible etc. all means that you have a bad install of some textures and/or models somewhere. No amount of load ordering will fix this. If it is only weapons and armor then it is normally quite easy to isolate the mods responsible and then reinstall them. The reason for it is that sometimes then installation just fails for a single file and it will effectively be a 0kb file.. which obviously have no content. -
SKYRIMLE SkySight - HD Hi-Res Pillow (not a joke) by fadingsignal
Aiyen replied to rootsrat's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
This retexture makes me sleepy... Not much to say about it really... vanilla is low res meh, and this is a quite decent upscaled version. Only real issue I could imagine with it is if someone prefer a bit more blur to their textures since it is rather sharp by default. -
SKYRIMLE HD Starry Eye of Magnus by zalunaya
Aiyen replied to DoYouEvenModBro's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
If you do what Neo suggests then it is a one time operation, and you are done for pretty much ever. You do not even need to use anything else... especially darker dungeons for ENB.. not point at all. In general it is very worth it... since once done you do not have to really worry about interiors anymore. Only if you add mods that add custom interiors to new houses etc. In general mesh overwrites should just be done or you wont get the effect the mod offers.... regardless of what other mods have. Quite often then mesh conflicts are taken as an incompatiblity which is sort of silly... since it is not because they are incompatible but because they simply overwrite something. -
SKYRIMLE Better Dwemer Spider Textures (by Naitrii)
Aiyen replied to egocarib's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Well if the requirement for STEP core is only a bronze like look then perhaps something will come up... bronze does span quite a range in terms of color and general visuals. Going from the smooth orange color theme down to almost a faded green... depending on how it is treated. Since I am working with metal tones atm. I have found a few nice ressources. https://www.uhlfeldergoldleaf.com/Bronze&Alum.htm This shows just how diverse the color from bronze can be in real life. And since we have fancy killer robots and techno magical constructs then I doubt we would need to go into another debate about what would be possible! ;) Also when you do check the Official textures then most of those colors are used at various parts of the in varying degrees of intensity. -

So many things in skyrim that are not to scale in general. I think that bottles are probably one of the things that annoy me the least. In fact I generally prefer them to have some size.. since really small models... you kinda cant really see them. -
SKYRIMLE Transparent and Refracting Icicle and Frost Atronach by Skysan4298
Aiyen replied to james4832's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Yeah it is just another reason not really to use the refracting shader on anything with a relatively large size since the amount of bugs that come with it is rather huge... Works sort of nicely on smaller objects though. -
In what file do I change the FOV in?
Aiyen replied to peppergomez's question in General Skyrim LE Support
In skyrim.ini under DISPLAY add fDefaultWorldFOV=X With X being the FOV angle of choice. At least as far as I recall. -
Help Keith build his first "little" gaming box
Aiyen replied to keithinhanoi's topic in General Game Discussion
Always get single rail PSU.... no exceptions. Makes everything simpler. Also if the gfx card says it needs something you provide it. The Amp´s on the single rail is alpha and omega.. if you do not have enough the card will throttle itself down to a low power mode and perform about equivalent to an onboard intel chip. I always find a few reviews of the card and then look at their measured values then add the stuff up in the end... and leave a buffer for expansion. If you are going for gold certified then it should be with the expectation of it having a life span of 5+ years... If you plan on changing it before that then the extra price you pay over a bronze or silver model will most likely not be worth it... depending on where you live and how costly electricity is. -

Night Vision is not working with ENB
Aiyen replied to flvinny521's question in Post-Processing Support
Yes... just be aware that it is not just simple copy paste of a file... the enbeffect.fx file is unique for each preset. You will need to copy in the proper code to your own to make it work on that.... in general the only line you would ever need is the following added near the top of the pixel shader color.xyz *= _c3.w; and voila NV will always work. -
Night Vision is not working with ENB
Aiyen replied to flvinny521's question in Post-Processing Support
Make sure image space brightness is applied on the preset you use. _c3.w contains the value. -
from light to dark place effect in Opethfeldt
Aiyen replied to Roberbond's question in Post-Processing Support
Adaptation is three fold. The values in enbseries.ini, the code in the enbeffect.fx and how it is setup, and the values set by the CK for a given area if using the vanilla implementation of it as well as ENB´s. Adaptation in general is a really nice effect when done right.. but the vanilla games implementation is just horrible and suffers from that generation of games where the HDR = insane tone variation between light and dark. Part of the reason is that it actually need to be that strong to really work on TV´s.. but when on a monitor then it just gets bad quick.
