SKYRIMLE Player Headtracking (by Maegfaer)
torminater replied to frihyland's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I've used this mod for a very long time now without any problems. -
First downscale texture mods to 2k max resolution and then optimize the textures with ddsopt. If that doesn't work, downscale further to 1k textures only and optimize them with ddsopt, and then throw in some 2k textures until you get close to your ram limit.

I've set snooze to 3 seconds...? But I'll check, maybe it didn't get forwarded as I updated the mod.

I keep getting a bug where I don't get up out of bed automatically. If I press I leap out of bed and everything is fine though...

SKYRIMLE Skybirds - Airborne Perching Birds
torminater replied to Korentin's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
OK, for the record, here is what the mod description page states: Required Mods for full functionality: SKSE SkyUI Birds of Skyrim Birds and Flocks What the mod does: Many new fully animated bird actor models MCM menu with performance options. The birds can hop about, perch dynamically on many objects, and FLY DYNAMICALLY (no canned animations). Each bird has custom actor sounds. They sing, chatter and call out to their flock just like real birds. "Sound Injector" for "Birds of Skyrim". skyBirds mod adds sounds to ALL of the birds from Quasiermo's "Birds of Skyrim" mod if both mods are used together. The roosters will now crow at dusk and dawn. Fully interactive: the birds can be killed, they will fly away from predators and they can build nests in trees. The birds will retire to their nests at night or in foul weather. 20 new alchemy ingredients to be collected from dead birds. Fixes various bugs related to vanilla hawks/chickens/blackbirds (includes some bugs that USKP does not fix, like fixing the clipping chicken feet problem.) Highly optimized mod for zero performance loss. Can be further optimized using the MCM menu. Very clean and stable mod - tested clean with TES5EDIT and tested thoroughly for savegame bloat. BSA archive Makes Roosters at Dawn (if Birds of Skyrim is used, too) and Invincible Hawk Fix (included in USKP anyway and in SkyBirds) redundant. Compatibility: ASIS (SkyBirds needs to be excluded) Birds of Skyrim", "Birds and Flocks" and "SkyTEST" 101Bugs "Static Flora" "Climates of Tamriel - Sound" Sounds of Skyrim. For most of them SkyBirds needs to be loaded after those mods. Known problems with the mod: Q: I'm using "Birds of Skyrim" and the flying seagulls and crows are invincible. Doesn't skyBirds fix the "invincible hawk" bug? A: skyBirds fixes the vanilla "invincible hawk" bug, but unfortunately Qasiermo intentionally made his flying seagulls and crow models permanently invincible regardless of this bug fix. Q: I sometimes get errors in the Papyrus log from this mod. Are the errors safe? A: The following sporadic errors caused by cells unloading are safe and normal: [05/09/2013 - 11:38:10PM] Error: (FF000AD0): has no 3d and cannot have an animation played on it. [05/12/2013 - 10:44:56PM] Error: Failed to setup moving reference because it has no parent cell or no 3D (the stack dump of "_APBTestBirdScript01" with several lines of data usually follows these errors). Q: I did x and now all the guards want to attack me. I suspect your mod caused this. A: Use the MCM menu (Advanced page) and reset the factions. Q: It's night time/raining/snowing but there are still skyBirds flying around. A: The birds will try to hide or build nests at night or in bad weather. This feature works best if you slow down the Skyrim "timescale" so that time moves more slowly. That gives the birds more time to hide. Default is 20 but I like playing on 5 (5 game minutes take 1 real minute). Use the console then type "set timescale to x" where x is the new value. Hint: don't use a timescale lower than 5 it might cause problems. Q: the birds sometimes fly into clutter and scatter it about. Can you fix this? A: Unfortunately no. I tried changing the birds' collision layer to OL_NONCOLLIDABLE (same bugfix that USKP uses for the bees and critters) but it made no difference for collisions with clutter. Q: the skyBirds sometimes fly through houses and mountains. A: That's a game engine/programming limitation. Other than that the author provides detailed upgrade and un-/installation procedures. The only thing, which I find a bit wanting from this mod is the "set timescale to 5 to give birds the time to seek shelter from bad weather". Afaik there are quite a few bugs introduced by messing with the timescale... Any confirmation? Also the mod author provides Papyrus tweaks for Skyrim.ini. Not sure whether we should test them since at least for me no Papyrus tweak so far has made my game run better. -
Bad memory management, maybe Skyrim puts pressure on other parts of your memory than the other utilities you use? Very interesting though, maybe worth a ticket to Beth Support.

SKYRIMLE Skybirds - Airborne Perching Birds
torminater replied to Korentin's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I'ld say the same. We still would need to do some testing before though. -
If you've tried everything (according to your statement) move all of your save games to a backup folder and delete Skyrim completely from your system, by downloading Skyrim from Steam (and verifying integrity of game cache at least once afterwards) revert to a absolutely 100%ly freshly-steam-downloaded perfectly clean Skyrim install, kill off and delete all gameboosters/side applications/script extenders/non-Bethesda-dll's, get rid of all Overclocks, defrag your harddisk once more, do a chkdsk on all of your harddiscs, check all your drivers are up to date and you're using only whql drivers, (stress-)test your memory, cpu, gpu and hard drive, start a absolutely new character with a new game and then, if you still encounter freezing issues, file a report to beth support. Most likely they won't be able to help you, but who can say for sure but them?

Misc Quests not showing on the world map
torminater replied to Yggdrasilion's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Could you post a screenshot of your quest journal? Have you made sure, that you actually "activated" the misc quests by getting the quest started info, going to your journal, selecting Miscellaneous Quests and selecting the various side quests in the sub category? -
SKYRIMLE Skyrim Project Stability by GrandBulwark
torminater replied to Agnusthemagi's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
MontyMM has stated a very interesting article here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2475 Same as you, I think I have solved the 3 GB crashes/freezes with cleanmem alone, but according to this quite serious article this is only a placebo effect. Any thoughts on this? -
Well, I can say, that on my laptop I didn't get a single CTD since using cleanmem. Even though it shouldn't work according to your article, it does for me at least sort out the issue with the 3 GB crash. Also, why would I get a regular sound stutter, if this program wouldn't do anything? Is it that the sound task/process/whatever is taken out of the task group?

This game is really testing my infinite patience!!!!!
torminater replied to 7hr08ik's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Be sure to chkdsk your harddrives if you have Problems like these again. -
Well, it works and is useful if you're doing a lot with the console, but for STEP I'ld say we don't need it. I'ld suggest this mod for Troubleshooting and maybe Mod Testing as well.
-
These are the textures not already handled by any of the following mods (and thus currently using Bethesdas HiResPacks or vanilla textures): BethHiResOpt Skyrim HD HD Misc Tobes HiRes HQ Food & Ingredients Hybrids Hi Res Realistic Mushrooms (and Dragonborn addon) Trees HD Bellyaches Creatures Better Bones Septim HD Skyrim Redesigned
-
Ok, before reinstalling, do a chkdsk /F on all of your hard disks and restart your system, then try a new savegame.
-
Using my laptop with Win 7 and 2 minute intervals. It had gotten into CTD problems after I added lots of spawn and script mods. Using the cleanmem i've gotten no major problems so far. Especially NO CTD!!! I do notice some sound stutter once in a while, but that is well worth it.
-
Ok, only thing I can think about is to revert to a clean vanilla install, start a new game and play until you leave Dragonsreach to encounter your first dragon. Then you save and check whether you can shout without mods, if so, start enabling all of your mods in small groups (5-10) until you cannot shout anymore. For efficiencies sake I'ld recommend you try at least 3 times to shout, before calling it top or flop.
-
Have you tried to start a new game?
-
Well if the stutter and freeze are only for Win 8 users, then it is still a valid option for all others...
-
interesting, i've encountered a bug multiple times, were I would use a shout, but no effect would appear and the cooldown wouldn't appear either, but I would not be able to shout until a certain period of time went past. That was mostly in mid of combat and probably due to me pressing the shout key very quickly. Have you tried to press the shout button long? Also you might provide a papyrus log demonstrating the error. If it is a script-error, it will be mentioned there.
-
ENB is not included in STEP and there are a billion of options with parralax but only a few without.
-
All of this sounds quite interesting. Could sb do a stress-test with this one? I'ld say drop in Skyrim Redone with highest resolutions and see whether it still helps - if it does, then this is a godsent tool I'm sure to try out.
-
Ok, since COT is one of our optional packs (officially since it is stated like this on our forum) we'ld need that patch asap so we can implement SoS in STEP. At least that's my point of view. What do you guys think?
