https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/46465/? I will get straight to the point: thus far, this mod has completely fixed my infinite load screen problems! To elaborate, I have a semi-Skyrim Revisited: Legendary edition install (minus a few mods, plus quite a few others), all together I show 315 mods checked in Mod Organizer and 205 .esps all of which are optimized and nicely TES5Edited for incompatibilities. I have been unable to do anything in Windhelm due to ILSs unless I remove SkyFalls at which point, I only have the occasional ILS. I installed this simple mod (1 SKSE .dll file is all it is), and I have yet to experience even a single ILS, in all of the ILS heavy locations. I went in and out of almost every building in Windhelm to test it just in that location. Previously the best I could do was maybe 3 or 4 buildings tops, and with SkyFalls, not a single one. I then tested other locations like Whiterun, Morthal, Riften, and Riverwood, no ILS. I then decided to test it further by installing all Immersive Settlements plugins which I have NEVER been able to get to work without numerous ILSs on any of my builds. Well, after installing Safety Load I have been able to visit every city, go in and out of taverns, in and out of Dragons Keep, Morthal, Windhelm, etc. and all without a single ILS. I don't know what kind of script sorcery Kapaer has pulled but it has fixed my ILS problems that I have had with more than just a few different builds. Of course I have yet to test it over several hours of actual gameplay but from the dramatic change I have seen thus far, I am confident it will hold up. BTW, Kapaer is the same modder who gave us the ShowRaceMenu precache killer, which as far as I know, was the first mod to fix the formerly crazy instability of said menu and ApachiiSkyHair. Accepted for 2.2.8 MT: We especially should be testing these *.dll code appendages together (Stable uGrids, Player Physics)

ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)

I'm not going to say i'm an expert here. I'm not. Also I have no definitive data. I am only working on what i've read in the nexus comments and forums. DCO was an example because of comments made by the mod author himself. I just feel like since he and other mod authors have shown some distress over odd incompatibilities, that it might be a good idea to look a little deeper into this. But as I said I am no expert on this. I do know however that some mod authors (apollowdown being the example here since it's his mod we've mentioned before) will not offer any sort of troubleshooting help if AOS and patches are used in conjunction with their mods. I read Apollodowns comments too and I think it is important to keep in mind that his own mods are quite extensive as well. DCO is a great concept and I thought it would become one of my must have mods, but I kept running into problems with it and it was just glitchy in general so I regrettably had to remove it (with 3 different setups). That guy is clearly very good at what he does and puts tons of work into his mods, but I always run into CTD problems with them, no matter what my setup is. What I'm getting at is that I don't think Apollodowns individual opinion of AOS should bear any real weight on a general consensus of the mod. It's also worth pointing out that he reviewed the 1.2 version (I think), and it has improved a great deal since then. BTW, AOS got file of the month last month . -
SKYRIMLE OBIS - Organized Bandits In Skyrim (by Indigoblade)
Rune11 replied to Zeran's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
I haven't had OBIS installed for very long, and I don't know about all of the changes made but one thing is certain: bandits are a whole lot more fun to fight now. To be honest, I don't pay much attention to their names, I just kill them . Plus, their many and varied shields are kind of fun to collect as trophies hah. I sure hope it doesn't mess up leveled lists too much though...I still have yet to find any loot system overhaul mod that fits my tastes. I detest vanilla Skyrim's loot system...I really don't like seeing everyone and their dog running around with glass equipment after a while. Yet I haven't found a mod that does a better job. They all seem either too austere or too extravagant. I like the ideas behind mods like Skyrim Unleashed but not the execution. I actually had dwarven gear far sooner than I would have in vanilla Skyrim. And I was drowning in powerful potions at an early level. Anyway, slight tangent off of OBIS, sorry. No way around it, OBIS is a very cool mod. -
ACCEPTED Audio Overhaul for Skyrim (by David Jegutidse)
Rune11 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
One of the first aspects of AOS that hooked me is exactly the believable and realistic sound distance attenuation. I recall that version 1.2 had some issues with the impact sounds happening to "close" to the player but it has certainly been fixed in 1.4. I wholeheartedly agree with Neovalen on the bow sounds, they are one of my favorite parts of the mod. It just seems more impactful and...dangerous for lack of a better word. When you hear an arrow zip by your head, it makes you want to take cover in a hurry! Overall, after playing with this mod for a quite a few hours now, I find that it is a huge improvement over the vanilla system while still retaining the vanilla flavor. I don't know that mixing and matching would yield an ideal result because AOS just meshes better with the game world in general. You start throwing too many other sounds in there and it throws off that careful balance. I think some sounds could use some tweaking here and there (some weapon impacts for instance) but nothing serious. In order to be able to fully appreciate this mod I think it is important to follow the mod authors advice to just start up the game and play for a few hours. You really have to let go of what you're so used to hearing after hundreds of hours of playing and after a while you realize how much better everything sounds. For me, audio is every bit as important as graphics in terms of immersion, and it is all to often left by the wayside these days. So having a quality sound overhaul like this is paramount in my opinion. -
SKYRIMLE OBIS - Organized Bandits In Skyrim (by Indigoblade)
Rune11 replied to Zeran's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
The way I justify OBIS (lore-wise anyway) is that Skyrim has been fighting a civil war and now dragons, hence, the guards and military forces don't have time nor resources to keep the various bandit factions under control. So a whole bunch of new ones have been springing up and most people don't know anything about them other than that they are trying to kill you and take your stuff. This lack of knowledge doesn't change the fact that each bandit group or "gang" still has its unique identity and equipment. If anything, I think this mod makes the game world a bit more believable, and definitely more fun. -

So I see Garfink had to choose between Skyrim Unleashed and OBIS, I'm wondering (read: hoping) if you have perchance been able to resolve any conflicts therein? The problem for me is that I REALLY want to use Skyrim Unleashed, and I REALLY REALLY want to use OBIS... -

I have played with this mod for several hours now and I am loving it. He has addressed all of the things that most annoyed me about vanilla Skyrim sound and so far, in my opinion, you don't need any other sound mods with this one. Maybe there are a few conflicts but it has been perfectly stable for me thus far. The newest version sounds great and makes for a very naturally immersive experience. No more Sounds of Skyrim and Icebreakers Improved Reverb for me! Oh and I love the arrow sounds, cool stuff. -
CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Rune11 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Sure no problem. I have a GTX 670 with 4gb VRAM, my system has 12gb RAM, Core I7 920 OC'd to 3.4ghz...and a very old and failing hard drive. As for the enblocal.ini, I followed the advice and link (the Phinix one) at the end of Neovalen's guide in progress. I have no stuttering nor slowdowns in even the worst areas and I have a lot of 2K textures and the full version of RealVision. This ENB has always ran very well IMO, but I haven't ever had it run this well. I WAS having a lot of freezes, but I updated SFO to the latest version, removed Lush Overhaul, removed Frostfall, Skyrim Immersive Creatures and a couple of other script intensive mods, started a new game (for the 40th time) and it has been completely stable all the way up to my current level of 12. I'm not sure what mod or combination of mods was causing the problems, but after a couple of weeks of trying to eliminate the problem, I don't dare mess with it anymore hah. I swear, throwing a few hundred mods into Skyrim is like balancing on the precipice of disaster. Or like picking a master level lock with a lockpick skill of 15, you just have to find that tiny little sweet spot... CTD and Performance patch ENBoost (by Boris Vorontsov)
Rune11 replied to EssArrBee's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
All I know is that I currently have version 209 with RealVision + CoT + RLO and I have never had an ENB run so smoothly without any crashes or freezes. No stuttering at all, liquid smooth at about 40-50 FPS with most of Skyrim Revisited installed. So I am sticking with 209 for a good long while I think, I don't see any reason to change it anytime soon. -
I'll second this, almost word for word. Mine wasn't very stable to begin with either, but it also *seemed* a bit less so when I had the multithreading tweaks applied. In builds past (before the wonders of S.T.E.P. and SR), I had experimented with these tweaks as well as some of the background loading tweaks. I don't remember any real difference in stability but after running a bunch of benchmarks and the like, I could never detect any discernible difference in performance, at least not as far as framerate is concerned. And I have tried these tweaks on a few different builds. In short, I'm not sold on them at all...but they do have a nice placebo effect I think :D

Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Rune11 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I have been trying out the ELFX and Unreal ENB setup and it is great and all...but it is very "stylized," for lack of a better term. Â I went back to RLO (with its plethora of patches) and RealVision ENB and it is SO much more to my tastes. Â Much smoother too. Â I realize that opinions on ENBs are as varied as opinions on who the most beautiful woman in the world is, but after playing with ELFX for quite a while and switching back to RLO, I am completely sold on RLO. Â It is just so much more immersive and vanilla friendly to me, the lighting just seems to fit better. -
I found my problem. XP32 was conflicting with Dawnguard Explosive Bolts Visualized, the dwarvenbolt.nif (or something like that) was overwriting the XP32 one. I deleted that and everything is normal now. I'm not sure what in my installation is different this time around to cause that problem but whatever, it's fixed now.
-
Argh...yeah I didn't read the post a whole whopping 2 posts behind mine that explains not to use the integrated FOMOD installer for immersive animations...that might make the difference for me. *Facepalm* Edit: Yep, tried re-running everything non FOMOD, re-did the FNIS, SUM, etc., still have a bolt quiver hanging out in mid air and now swords don't show up on the back. Going to completely uninstall and reinstall the entire animations section as well as Dual Sheath Redux...hopefully that will fix it.
-
I'm having problems with this as well. I just did a complete Skyrim/SR reinstall and the only thing not working is the same problem as above. Plus, no matter what install options with the various animation mods I try, for some reason the bolt quiver is hanging out like a foot to the left of my character's model. I am certain I have followed the directions correctly and I never had a problem with it before, not sure what is wrong now. If I put the UNPB mod AFTER the XP32 mod, it seems to work fine...but it overwrites some of the XP32 files of course. Usually I can work these problems out but right now I am stumped.
-
I would happily test it as well, your screenshots look very good. "In between," those 2 extremes you describe is right where I prefer an ENB to be. I'm liking RealVision right now...but it still lacks a certain undefinable something, especially in some of the transitions.

My quest for the perfect ENB has followed much the same route as rootsrat: started with True Vision, ended up with Real Vision. I used the cinematic version of True Vision for longer than any other ENB (so longer than a few seconds) as I always found it to have stunning exteriors. I also really like the SweetFX sharpening it uses, and you can enable SMAA through the config files as well. Even now with all of the newer ENBs it is hard to beat, it still has my vote for best ever ENB so I am looking forward to when he finally updates it. However, with the more recent releases of CoT and RLO, I have found RealVision to be a bit better of a fit. I also like having the ability to tweak away with the in game menu in the later version ENBs. That said, I still find some odd/jarring lighting with RealVision. Mainly just during certain weather conditions such as heavy fog or overcast days. I have yet to find an ENB setup that looks good in some of the more inclement weathers.Â

wanted Installing ASIS and SkyRe with some additional stuff
Rune11 replied to Iroha's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Ok so after installing the enemies leveling module and getting into some fights in the Whiterun area, I have now had a much more difficult game than I previously mentioned. As Iroha mentioned, I have discovered a simple equation: 2H weapon wielding enemy + 1 unblocked hit on lightly armored player = death cam. Arrows are brutal too, I find myself trying to get cover a lot more than usual and letting Uthgerd bear the brunt of the damage while I try something else (hey don't judge me, she has heavier armor than me, just sayin'). AI seems solid so far too, I can see how getting into the higher levels will enable a lot more utility with the perks. Anyway, it's been a lot more fun after installing the leveling module. I hope everyone gets their installs figured out soon so you can all give it a try. Still...my old combo of Skyrim Unleashed + Duel + select ACE modules calls out to me...but I suspect that this SkyRe setup might end up the louder one hah! -

Whenever I add/remove certain mods and crash on loading, I often find that I simply needed to rebuild the ASIS patch. I use Amazing Follower Tweaks and it definitely wouldn't load until I rebuilt all of the dynamic patches. As mentioned above by TeleToko, I always find Wrye Bash useful for quickly spotting errors like that by just looking for any red colored esp. -

I will install the enemy scaling module then, and make sure it is working right. Maybe that will do the trick, that and getting out of the Riverwood area. Thanks for the quick replies, I will report back how it all works out. -

Rune11 replied to Iroha's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I have installed SkyRe and ASIS and several additional mods and everything is running smoothly (after much tribulation). I am level 5 and have only done a few things around Riverwood such as Embershard Mine. So far, I love the racial and perk changes made by SkyRe but I am a bit disappointed by the combat. It has been WAY too easy, even on master level difficulty. I pretty much one-shot everything I come across, whether it be with bow or axe. I mean I practically ran all the way through Embershard having to barely even slow down to kill all of the bandits. Contrast that with Skyrim Unleashed where I actually found myself having to lure one bandit across the drawbridge and then raising it just in time to trap his buddy on the other side...just so I could actually stand a chance in a one a one fight. I understand that the encounter zones module makes some areas much more difficult...but if it is this easy at, or close to, my own level then I might be going back to Skyrim Unleashed + ACE + Duel. I'm hoping once I get out of this starting area it will be a good bit more difficult (in a fun way of course), because I love the concept and all of the other changes. I just don't want to dump a bunch of hours into this playthrough and find out it is like this throughout the whole game. Does this experience sound pretty standard with this install or is my setup just somehow messed up? I always see people saying how much more fun SkyRe injects into Skyrim, I can't help but think I'm missing something, I did follow the guide exactly though (minus the TK and monster mods). Regardless, thanks for the detailed instructions Iroha, it made it easy to get it all working with Skyrim Revisited. -

Rune11 replied to Iroha's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
I'm also very interested in trying out SkyRe. I never tried it because I didn't think I could get it to mesh with the plethora of Skyrim Revisited mods, but apparently it can be done! I have tried out quite a mix of overhauls in the past. I've tried Duel Combat Realism, ACE, Deadly Combat, ASIS, and Skyrim Unleashed, all of them individually and in various combinations. I consistently find that Duel is hands down, the best combat experience. It makes combat much more deliberate and tactical. My last playthrough, I used parts of ACE which seem to work well with Duel, and also Skyrim Unleashed (which deserves a lot more recognition than it seems to get). Skyrim Unleashed was designed to work with Duel and it makes things quite a bit more difficult in a smart way and without making a ton of changes across the board. Still, it seems that for the first 15 levels or so, it is absolutely great (I found myself actually having to plan out attacks before hand and desperately trying to take opponents 1 on 1 instead of slaughtering entire groups with nary a thought), but after awhile it gets just about as mundane and boring as vanilla Skyrim. So I am interested in the more sweeping changes that SkyRe makes. I am currently going through a reinstall of Neovalen's guide and I am going to follow Iroha's directions in this thread for SkyRe. I just wish there was a way to incorporate Duel, it has proven to be better than every other combat focused mod out there. At least for me. -

If you have SkyTEST installed, I bet that is the culprit. I had it installed and I ran into a CTD right in that same spot almost every time. I uninstalled it and haven't had a single problem since. -
Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback
Rune11 replied to Neovalen's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Just a heads up, Detailed Rugs and Better Dynamic Snow have been updated in addition to the Serious HD already mentioned. Also, Langleys Wood Metal and Stone textures had a small update addon to the main mod. By the way, thanks for all of the lengthy and detailed work you do for your guide Neovalen, it's nice to have such a detailed guide on getting all of these mods to work together as smoothly as possible.
