The soul gem level you can craft depends on the skill level, every 20 levels. Your suggested recipe doesn't work, maybe CCOR has something to do with that? Edit: found the solution, Requiem - Hard Times was the problem as it changes the mechanism a little. One has to create a "soul gem merging crystal" at the forge first, which is listed under MISC there and requires several ingredients like petty soul gems and powdered bones.
-
Quick question: What ingredients are required to create soul gems at the smelter? I'm using Requiem with Hard Times but can't seem to find the right ingedients as well as any informations about that. I of course have the second perk in the Enchanting tree unlocked which is requiered. Thanks!

Yep, AMB content addon needs Delev, I also gave it Relev. Doing so fixed naked NPCs for me, ArmorIronSetNoHelmet was the issue that I had, too.

LOOT tells me the Requiem.esp has 306 ITM records and 10 UDR records. I obviously cleaned the latter ones but what about the ITMs? Does anyone know if those are safe to clean? Edit: After cleaning the UDRs, LOOT doesn't show a warning about ITMs anymore. Pretty sure I didn't clean them, I double checked TES5Edit's log. Edit2: Cleaning the UDRs apparently resulted in breaking the intro sequence when starting a new game (wild bouncing carraige madness/general pathfinding issues). After switching back to the uncleaned esp everything worked fine and stable. Will leave the esp as it is for now.

I'm having a problem with LOOT: I use Step Core and Extended with a few mods left out in preparation for REGS and Requiem. I also use Immersive Weapons and -Armors. After I run LOOT it shows {object Object},{object Object} as bash tags for Immersive Armors. Wrye Bash just uses Delev by default. For all other Mods LOOT shows right tags and Wrye Bash also already had the right tags by default. Does anyone know what casuses this, how to fix it and/or which tags to use? Edit: Corrected Relev to Delev above. When using both Relev and Delev, some NPCs run around in their underwear. Only using Delev seems to work perfectly fine with my setup though. But I still get the {object Object},{object Object} Tags for Hothtroopers Armor Compilation, don't think that's supposed to be like this. :/

I noticed some missing image captions in the STEP Core- and Combined Plugin Patch Changelogs, here and here. In the Extended Patch Changelog they are present.

Requesting Help in Understanding a Few Things About STEP

I knew there had to be a better way! That should save me a lot of time in the future.. Also the running vs flying sounds reasonably more suited as well, so thanks for correcting! -
Requesting Help in Understanding a Few Things About STEP

2) If you wish to install both, just install all the mods in the guide. That's what DoubleYou said as well, what he said afterwards was about when you want both a Core AND an Extended profile in MO, but you just want Extended, so just install all the mods. 4) A way of (performance-)stability testing the game would be the following method: - start a new game with your desired finished mod setup or after a installing a mod category. (If following the Step guide carefully, testing after installing all mods should suffice). - play through the Helgen sequence and after exiting Helgen save the game - open the console and type the following commands without the "" - "tgm" for god mode - "tcl" for clipping - "player.setav speedmult 1500", 15 times the normal movement speed (default is 100) - now you should be able to "fly" around - fly around skyrim in slightly abobe mountain altitude for 3-5 minutes - stutters and short freezes are normal - if your game crashes or your pc freezes completey, something is unstable, if not, chance are good your game is stable from a performance point of view -
Do you think this could go into Step:Extended alongside iHUD?

pack A Real Explorer's Guide to Skyrim
deadbody replied to CJ2311's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Hi CJ, great guide and great work on the compatibility here! I have a somewhat trivial question: If I set up STEP:Extended before REGS, there are some redundant mods like Lantern of Skyrim. Does it make a difference where you install them i.e. either before the Step patch during Step setup, or after the Step patch during REGS setup? If I am correct, they are included for people who didn't use Extended and it shouldn't make a difference but I'd just like to be sure. Thanks! Btw: Has anyone found out yet what has happended to Expanded Winterhold Destruction? It used to be one of my favourite mods and I'd hate to see it disappear for good. :/ -
Discussion thread: moreHUD by Ahzaab Wiki Link I haven't seen anything on this mod here so I thought I'd make a topic about it, because i thnk it's a great mod. With this mod you not longer need to pick up an item to view its stats. It is also able to show skills skillbooks are teaching and/or whether you already read a book. The mod is highly configurable via MCM and even Gopher liked it and made iHUD work well with it.

Ah now I get it, thanks a bunch!

beginner questions about STEP setup
deadbody replied to rothbardian's question in General Skyrim LE Support
3) In the STEP guide, DDSOpt is mainly recommended for optimizing the vanilla textures to reduce file size and the impact on VRAM, as well as correcting the occasional error. As already stated, it is not necessary with your setup, as you don't need to save the last Megabyte of VRAM. Also, the process is quite time consuming, took me well over an hour with an overclocked i7 and all the files on an SSD. Regarding other mods like SRTO: You don't use DDSOpt in that sense that you have it runnning while playing, like a mod or SKSE, it's a tool you use once to optimize a mod to then use the mod. Much like TESVEdit for example. So all the mod author is saying in this case, is that he already optimized his Mod and there is no need for further optimization and you can just install it. 8) I'm no official so I can't give any official recommendation but I can tell you my experience: I used "7" before this mod as well as ENBoost and Sheson's MP existed and never had problems whilst running around 70-80 Mods, NOT using any visual ENB. My former GTX570 ran that at around 30fps. I now tried "9" with STEP 2.2.9 and it also worked without a problem, my frame rate beeing around 40 - 50, with said i7 and GTX670 4GB SLI, again, no visual ENB (just ENBoost). For my taste, values above "9" don't really enhance your atmosphere anymore, as you would seldomly be able see this far. But they really start impacting your performance badly. Finally, there is nothing more stable (and ugly) than "5" and with ENB I wouldn't go too high. Hope that helps. -
Hi, first I have to say I really like this guide as well as the included optimizations, very helpful indeed! I plan on trying a new mod build including STEP:Extended 2.2.9 as base, extended by a basic STEP:REGS and full Requiem. At the moment I'm sketching out which mods to use, which to omit as well as searching for possible conflicts before even starting. I intend to wait at least until STEP 2.2.9 is final and REGS has been carrying over the changes. So the following questions arose from that, regarding the Requiem installation process, maybe you can help me out on that: 1) Is following these guides in the mentioned order appropriate, considering I would do thorough stability testing after installation of STEP:EX, REGS and Requiem respectively? 2) The STEP:Extended Patch merges Disease Descriptions as well as No NPC Greetings. Both are not needed for Requiem. Do they conflict with Requiem or can they simply be overwritten? Having to leave out the STEP Patch would be disappointing. 3) I intend to use Immersive Armors and Weapons and stumbled across this: https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimrequiem/comments/29xl2y/bashed_patch_does_not_incorporate_all_requiem/ I managed to get STEP:Extended 2.2.9 running as described in the guide but I'm still a newbie to bashed patches. I have a basic understanding of what they are for and what they are doing. In the link they mention the line from this guide: If I understand correctly that means i have to remove all name and stats tags from mods that come with them and just leave the relev and delev tags? Or is there anything else I have to do to avoid such issues?

What appears to be FPS drop(lag) without FPS drop.
deadbody replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sorry, that was not very well worded by me. What I meant is the borderless fullscreen windowed mode, which you can activate via ENBoost for example. See here for details: https://wiki.step-project.com/ENBoost#Recommendations -
On the Wiki-Page for LOOT it says under point 3: "For the Binary field, browse to your BOSS installation and select the LOOT.exe application." Surely just a little copy-paste error but it might confuse newcomers. :)

General Questions Thread

What worked for me was going to Settings -> Workarounds and change NMM Version to a higher Version. 0.48.1 worked for me I think, but you may try other version numbers like the current 0.50.3 as well. -
Thanks very much for clarifying!

Hi, im new to this forum but I have been following STEP for quite a while now. Quite an impressive project, big thanks to all people involved for their effort and for creating a lot of awesome guides! I just had the chance to try out the 2.2.9 version as stated in the guide and it already worked quite well for me. (I upgraded to MO 1.2.9 and was NOT using "Bring out your dead" and the STEP patch however..). Anyway, the reason I am writing here is because I wondered if "Cultist Mask Decapitation Fix", which was apparently added with 2.2.9, is still necessary. As I understand, it seems to be made obsolete with the latest USKP version. Also, USKP claims that it includes the changes made with "Distant Decal Fix". Referring to https://www.afkmods.com/index.php?/topic/3636-mods-made-obsolete-by-unofficial-patches/ btw. I understand the guide and changelog aren't final yet, but I thought I'd just leave that here anyway. Cheers!
